[‘Socialism is good for you.’ Now we have Crazy Bernie and Pocahontas claiming that the USSR, China, Cuba, … weren’t really real socialist countries; that they were ruled by tyrants instead of the finely fashioned fettle of fearless führers that they would become. Someone should ask them to name a single socialist country that didn’t quickly descend into the tyrannical cesspools that recent history has shown us over and over again. But the Dems are betting, after having screwed up America’s education system sufficiently, that today none of our younger generation have a clue about the various flavors and evolutions of collectivism, and of the hundreds of millions of their own people that what started out as socialism wound up killing over the last 100 years. gjr]

Walt, my definition of Treason came from the Constitution. Do you have a problem with that?
Section 3. Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.

Was it just me or did anyone else notice that the 75th Anniversary of D Day had a nice side effect of a one day reprieve from the ‘toxic masculinity’ feverish drumbeat. It was pleasant to have one day where the chants of “Kill the Beast, Kill the Beast” where not heard from the Identity Politics jungle. All those pictures, survivors, and articles about men celebrating their toxic masculinity storming the beaches and cliffs of Normandy.
But then again, some have recognized the value and sacrifice of males more than just once every 25 years.

Hmmm.
President and Mrs. Trump have finished up a triumphant visit to the U.K. If Brits followed the visit on BBC, they saw news readers ridiculing the President with a replica of the “baby Trump” balloon floated by leftists on their set. No surprise there: fake news. But if you followed the Daily Mail and the Sun, the newspapers that most Brits actually read, the coverage was overwhelmingly positive. The Daily Mail headlined: “‘I hope you come to this country again soon’: What the Queen told Donald Trump at the end of his state visit as he bid fond farewell to Britain following moving ceremony to salute the heroes of D-Day.”
This is really transgressive. Is it true? I don’t know, but it is a good counterpoint to the usual leftist narrative. The only salient point is that Trump is being treated like a normal president, which the Left can’t abide:
Donald Trump has left Britain at the end of his whirlwind three-day state visit after the Queen told him: ‘I hope you come to this country again soon’.
As they posed for the final photograph at the D-Day 75 commemoration event in Portsmouth, the President told the Queen: ‘It was a great honour to be with you’ and Her Majesty replied: ‘I hope you come to this country again soon’.

WINNING!!! We don’t want no stinkin tariff’s! Where do we sign? So what do team lefty have to say now? Crickets.
The U.S. has reached an agreement with Mexico that heads off the start of tariffs on Monday. The deal, announced by President Trump via tweet on Friday night, is said to include plans to return migrants seeking asylum to Mexico, where they will remain until their claims can be processed.
Mexico promises to deploy its National Guard throughout Mexico, particularly at the border, increase actions to dismantle human trafficking operations to smuggle individuals across the border, and take extra steps to coordinate with the American government to share information and “better protect and secure our common border,” according to a statement from the U.S. Department of State.

Once he puts the tariffs on, they are there to stay,” Guajardo said. “The idea that he’ll ever lift them is a mirage.” The U.S.’s refusal to immediately remove tariffs was a key sticking point for the Chinese before negotiations broke down.
It’s not quite so easy for Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. AMLO, as he is known, is loathe to travel on diplomatic missions and makes a virtue of prioritizing domestic policy. He hasn’t left Mexico in two years, and has already said that he doesn’t plan on attending the G-20
As well as sharing a physical border with the U.S., Mexico is more deeply reliant on its northern neighbor economically. Mexico’s exports to the U.S. account for about 80% of its total overseas sales and more than a quarter of the country’s entire economic output. Equally, however, the reciprocal reliance of U.S. exports on the Mexican market may hand AMLO’s administration greater scope for punishing Trump than their Chinese counterparts.
Mexico had previously been seen as a potential beneficiary of Trump’s trade conflict with China, as U.S. companies considered shifting supply chains closer to home.

BAM!!!!!!! Pay particular attention to the last line.
… those [migrants] crossing the U.S. Southern Border to seek asylum will be rapidly returned to Mexico where they may await the adjudication of their [US.] asylum claims.
In response, Mexico will authorize the entrance of all of those individuals for humanitarian reasons, in compliance with its international obligations, while they await the adjudication of their asylum claims. Mexico will also offer jobs, healthcare, and education according to its principles.
The United States commits to work to accelerate the adjudication of asylum claims and to conclude removal proceeding as expeditiously as possible.
…
Both parties also agree that, in the event the measure adopted do not have the expected results, they will take further actions.
Mexico’s agreement to offer jobs and healthcare to the migrants will weaken lawsuits by pro-migration U.S. groups that oppose the deal.
In exchange, the U.S will also work with Mexico to spur regional economic development.
Mexico also promised to step up police enforcement against the cartels’ labor trafficking from Central America into the United States
The deal means that border agencies will not have to release migrants into the United States prior to their asylum hearings.
The end of catch-and-release will likely wreck the cartels’ labor-trafficking business, which depends on migrants getting U.S. jobs to repay their smuggling debts. Few poor people in Honduras, El Salvador, or Guatemala will go into debt with the cartels, or mortgage their farms and homes to the cartels, once they know they will be forced to remain in Mexico prior to their asylum hearings.
The reduction of migration will also help stabilize the Central Americans countries, which is needed before foreign investors build farms or factories in those nations.
Politically, a good deal for Trump is a bad deal for Democrats, who have campaigned during the last few days to prevent a deal that would slow the inflow of migrants.
Democrats oppose a deal, in part, because it reduces their bargaining power in the domestic fight against Trump to win amnesty for millions of illegals.

Aha! A happy ending. I remember following this story. Oberlin College, Lena Dunham went there and she just sold her Brooklyn apartment…for a loss…..and is a bigger Hillary fan than Hilary Hodge, but I digress.
Oberlin College where the black students protested FOR fried chicken on Friday nights and were up up in arms cause the baked food was“too creamy”. The Chinese students protested cause General Tso chicken was served with baked rice (not fried rice) and that caused a HUGE stink over Culture Appropriation….and only Japanese cooks are allowed to prepare sushi, so hire an Asian sushi maker, now!
Yep, big protests over sushi. Much sensitively training ordered for the food vendors and staff….and the Black students wanted their own dining area and got it, roflmao. The only ones who did not demonstrate and carry on and make a big stink were the Buddhist students who were served some dish that contained meat. They had some Buddhist headquarters in Frisco fire off a letter to the college nicely explaining what a offensive thang they did.
But, I remember most was when the President chewed the bakery out for not calling him directly instead of the police to handle matters….as that has been they way it’s always been. Blame the bakery! Well, looks like the bakery got sick and tired of being ripped off. Their good intentions, long suffering, and patience worn thin.
“The lawsuit noted that following the arrest of the three students, Oberlin College staff, including deans and professors, Raimondo included, joined the demonstrations in front of the bakery. They handed out a flyer that accused the bakery of racially profiling and discriminating against the three students. The flyer even stated that the bakery “is a RACIST establishment with a LONG ACCOUNT of RACIAL PROFILING and DISCRIMINATION.”

I found a little tiny article on Page 11A of the Sacramento Bee today. I have been wanting an update on this and now we get to see the conclusion. A Somalia immigrant and Minneapolis policeman was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison. Why did we never see the Bee or any other media give us the updates along the way? Like they do on the cops that shot and killed a black man they thought was pointing a gun at them after a long chase. Why did we not see updates? The Somalia officer was black and the victim was white.
This reprint of a New York Times article does not even mention the woman’s name, Justine Ruszczyk, 40 years old. That is in my view the epitome of PC and bias. The original article did have her name. She was a white woman who had called 911 to request help for another woman being attacked. When the cops arrived this Somali cop shot and killed her as she approached the car. She was unarmed. Why did the Bee leave her name out?
Then we see the PC crowd shrieking that the cop was treated differently than other cops that rarely get arrested for shooting people. They make it appear the Somali cop is is the victim! What about the woman? They could care less. We can see the level of ludicrous the left will stoop too. This is the same district that a nutty woman from Somalia was elected to serve in Congress. These people have yet to gain the values of the west and until they do we must be concerned.
Shame on the Bee for its ridiculous article and we should pray for the unarmed white woman murdered for trying to help another.

Tell us again the threat of tariffs don’t work.
” Most Democrats and pro-migration advocates stayed silent after President Donald Trump announced he had gotten the reluctant Mexican government to agree to keep all migrants in Mexico until their U.S. court hearings.
The “Remain in Mexico” deal allows Mexico to say it did not give in to Trump’s push for a “safe third country” deal. But it gives Trump’s border agencies a legal way to ignore the establishment’s catch and release policies, which allow economic migrants to get U.S. jobs when they merely carry a child across the border and ask for asylum.”

““In a key finding of the Mueller report, Ukrainian businessman Konstantin Kilimnik, who worked for Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, is tied to Russian intelligence,” writes John Solomon. Solomon adds:
But hundreds of pages of government documents — which special counsel Robert Mueller possessed since 2018 — describe Kilimnik as a “sensitive” intelligence source for the U.S. State Department who informed on Ukrainian and Russian matters.
Why Mueller’s team omitted that part of the Kilimnik narrative from its report and related court filings is not known. But the revelation of it comes as the accuracy of Mueller’s Russia conclusions face increased scrutiny.
So during the Obama administration — let me repeat that for the CNN-impaired: the Obama administration — this same Konstantin Kilimnik worked with the Obama State Department and “delivered written reports to U.S. officials via emails that stretched on for thousands of words[.]”
What’s more, according to Solomon, whose work debunking the Russia Collusion Hoax has so far been as vital as it has been beyond reproach, the “FBI knew all of this, well before the Mueller investigation concluded.”
So Bobby,, You were saying?

Since its the schools money does anyone think they will change their behavior, it is Oberlin –
Oberlin College in Ohio will have to pay a nearby bakery more than $11 million in damages because it libeled the store, tagging it as racist, and interfered with its business, a jury said on Friday.
Gibson’s Bakery came under fire after Allyn Gibson, the owners’ son, got into a physical altercation with a black student who reportedly tried shoplifting and using a fake ID at the store, The Chronicle-Telegram said. Two other black students got involved, appearing to prompt accusations of racial profiling.
The three students eventually pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges and read statements defending Allyn Gibson’s right to detain them. They also read statements claiming that his actions weren’t racially motivated, but within days of the incident, students were turning out for protests fueled by accusations of racist intent.
The jury found the school and Oberlin’s vice president and dean of students, Meredith Raimondo, guilty of libel after Raimondo allegedly helped pass out flyers claiming that the bakery was “racist” and had a history of “racial profiling and discrimination.”

Not to beat Oberlin College to death, but there are too many pearls in this link to mention, save but a few for space constraints:
“We’re asking to be reflected in our education,” Adams cuts in. “I literally am so tired of learning about Marx, when he did not include race in his discussion of the market!” She shrugs incredulously. “As a person who plans on returning to my community, I don’t want to assimilate into middle-class values. I’m going home, back to the ’hood of Chicago, to be exactly who I was before I came to Oberlin.”
Yes, this person in dire need of a straitjacket is griping because a 19th-century German Jew writing a dense book of economic and social theory while sitting in the British library didn’t factor race into his analysis of capitalism. And so it goes.

The sense of entitlement among these students is simply off-the-charts. One girl named Megan, a Bronx native who “identifies as Afro-Latinx,” expresses her exhaustion after the living hell that is life at Oberlin:
Then she wanted to get as far away from the United States as she could. “Working my piece of land somewhere and living autonomously—that’s the dream,” she said. “Just getting the eff out of America. It’s a sinking ship.”
Babe, you come from the Bronx. You would be lucky to be able to grow a Chia pet.
——————-
The most revealing thing said by a student in the article is, “l can’t produce the work they want me to do.””
——————-
“I’m paying for my education, therefore, I should decide how I will be taught.”
——————
“I can’t take an exam in order to prove baseline competence in a class, and it’s unreasonable to expect me to do so. But I know the material, really, I do, and if you just let me come to office hours and chat, I’ll prove it to you!”
https://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/oberlin-is-an-insane-asylum/
Interesting to note that Michelle Milken attended Oberlin, class of 92.
[Why need security?] “Because of the reaction of students when she spoke on campus in February of 2006 as part of the Ronald Reagan Political Lectureship Series sponsored by Steven Shapiro, Class of 1983. That she had a bodyguard in front of her probably speaks volumes of the mood of tolerance for diversity of political thought on campus.”
And, looking at Wikipedia, I see Malkin is not listed among its “Notable Alumi.” 🙂
Think that is bad. Nevada County hired a homeless guru from Evergreen College.

Speaking of fake news –
The Daily Beast, the partisan digital media outlet that recently doxed an African-American working-class Trump supporter for creating a parody video of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), is under fire for falsely reporting that President Donald Trump’s sons bailed on their drink tab at a pub in Ireland.
Donald Trump Jr. and younger brother Eric visited Igoe Inn Bar & Restaurant in Doonbeg, Ireland, during their father’s 5-day visit to Western Europe to meet the British royal family and attend the 75th anniversary of D-Day commemorative ceremonies. According to the Irish Mirror, the Trump sons ordered a round of drinks for “ecstatic locals” and even “helped out by pulling the pints.”
In an interview with the Mirror, The pub’s owner, Caroline Kennedy, sang the Trump sons’ praises, describing the pair as both “lovely and down to earth.”
“They’re loving the reception they are getting. When they came into the pub they said they wouldn’t get this welcome in New York,” Kennedy said. “They were so lovely and down to earth and gave a great hello to everyone. I said, ‘Come on lads you have to come in and pull a drink’ so they did.”
When asked who covered the tab, the pub owner replied that she wasn’t certain who paid it, adding that the sons didn’t carry around cash on them.
“We were told it’d be all sorted later so there’s no problem,” Kennedy said.
“We have the world press in our village and we are being zoomed in around the world and you couldn’t buy that publicity,” she beamed.
On Saturday, the Daily Beast published a report entitled, “Eric and Donald Trump Jr. Still Have Not Paid Irish Bar Tab,” in which it claimed that Don and Eric skipped out on the bill. However, the Trump International Golf Links & Hotel, located in the small western village of Ireland, had actually arranged to pay the tab in its entirety.
Following the Daily Beast’s report, the Igoe dispelled it as fake news.
“We have just had the most fantastic week in Doonbeg with the visit of the Trump family. I would like to clarify that The Igoe Inn was paid in full for the round of drinks that Eric & Don bought for our customers. We appreciate their business,” the statement read.
“We Do Not appreciate being misquoted,” it concluded.

Botox Nancy got trumped and had her hold card for negotiations to get full amnesty turn into a puff of socialist smoke! LOL! –
But it is not clear how Pelosi can block Mexico’s agreement with the “Remain in Mexico” policy. It has already survived one review by judges, and Mexico’s offer of jobs and healthcare to the migrants will make it difficult for pro-migration lawyers to argue that Trump’s deal violates the legal asylum rights of illegal immigrants.
The expanded Remain in Mexico plan is a political blow to Democrats, who welcomed the Central American migration because it pressured Trump to get a fix with a deal that also offered some form of amnesty for the millions of illegals in the United States.

FYI –
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. June 8, 2019 – Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is proactively shutting off the power for safety in Butte and Yuba counties this evening. Due to more favorable weather changes in other parts of the region, PG&E will continue to evaluate weather conditions for a Public Safety Power Shutoff in Nevada, El Dorado and Placer counties. PG&E meteorologists will continue to monitor the weather overnight and PG&E will de-energize customers in some parts of these counties if necessary.
For areas impacted by the Public Safety Power Shutoff, the company will open two Community Resource Centers on Sunday, June 9 at 8:00 a.m. to support customers across counties impacted by the proactive power shutoff in the Sierra Foothills. The centers will provide restrooms, bottled water, electronic device charging and air-conditioned seating for up to 100 customers each. The centers are located at:

What a bunch of hogwash.
Friday at 12:41 pm I started receiving texts and phone calls from PG&E that the wind is blowing and I might loose power. Then another call at 1:12 pm. The wind is blowing and I may loose power. Ok, fine. Thank you very much and go away. But, noooooo.
The calls continued later and then Saturday morning at 4:07 am I received not one,but two 4 am calls. Must be an emergency! No, it was to tell me the windy was blowing and….drumroll please….I may loose power. 4 in the morning and two calls! I muted the phone and put it under the mattress. Yes, the wind is blowing. Heard it blowing all night.
Yesterday the wind was blowing. Any idiot could see the wind was blowing. Thank you very much. By the afternoon Saturday, there were some nice strong gusts. Kinda cool sitting on the front porch having a smoke watching the oaks and pines bending over and birds making 90 degree turns and thinking that if the ground was saturated and I lived at higher elevation, trees would be coming down for sure. The were dancing in the breeze.
ANY idiot knows rain or shine, city or country, flatlands or hill country, summer, fall, winter, or Spring….that when there are strong winds, you may loose power. Thank you. Of course, by then I quit looking at the phone when it rang or the texts. Just a bunch of 800 numbered calls from the same number-PG&E. I thought about reporting it as spam. Yes, the wind is blowing and I may loose power. Got it. Got it Friday. Got it at 4 in the morning. Got it Saturday afternoon. Now, kindly go bother someone else.
Beautiful day. The coolest thing was a helicopter came in low, pretty low and was smack dab over the back deck. I looked straight up at its belly. Then, right above me, it did a sharp turn and (like the turkey vultures) changed directions and flew off and being pushed around the sky. Must of been checking power lines to be that low on such a blustery day. And I am on the end of the line. No use to inform the neighbors. They don’t have power next door or across and up the road, lol. They probably surmised the wind was blowing. :).
Oh the drama. When Russ gave his heads up at 6:50 pm that the wind is blowing and we WILL lose power, I plugged in the phone and layer down for a nap. Have a rare head cold for the last few days. Rare for me. Anyway, fell fast asleep with the slider wide open. It’s not like the middle of winter when someone could freeze to death if they lost power. The only prep I did was plug in the phone at the last minute and put some jugs of water in the freezer in case I needed to use an ice chest. And made a pot of coffee. Last time the power went out I forget to have enough water standing by to make coffee on the stove.
The wind is blowing and I may loose power. Thank you very much. And, no, if the power goes out, the last thing I would ever do is go to a friggin shelter at Sierra College to be with a bunch of snowflakes who are refugees from the power going out. Oh , the drama. Now, kindly go pound sand, all ye survivors of the Great June Power Outage of 2019.
Nevada County’s own D-Day. Give me a break. The wind is blowing smoke up some bed wetters’ cavity. Survived the drama.

A large part of our country’s division is the left hammering fake news long after the truth is known.
I’m reading the latest on the various candidates and in this story
https://news.yahoo.com/in-iowa-mayor-pete-buttigieg-campaigns-on-the-power-of-being-gay-045844484.html
I read this line of complete BS:
“The dinner awards scholarships to local students in memory of Matthew Shepard, a 21-year-old brutally tortured and murdered in 1998 for being gay, whose story has become synonymous with hate crimes in America.”
A gay man who actually investigated the murder to find the (trigger warning – Whiteness alert) ‘objective truth’ discovered that which even the local police knew all along:
“…is that the grotesque murder was not a hate crime, but could instead be blamed on crystal meth, a drug that was flooding Denver and the surrounding area at the time of Matthew’s death.”
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/oct/26/the-truth-behind-americas-most-famous-gay-hate-murder-matthew-shepard
This one story is just the tip of the iceberg of false narratives that fill the lefts’ minds. Even when the left is forced to admit the facts don’t align with their side, they pivot to the position that what is really important is the ‘larger truth’. That the larger truth is actually filled with the stuffing of falsehoods makes no difference to the left.
The left of course, will claim the same is true of conservatives, but never seem to have any actual examples.
Real problems in our country as well as those facing us world-wide will never be solved by spinning comfortable tales by the local social justice league. But comfortable tales have been proven vote-getters through the years and so they continue.

George 11:35 AM — The experts seem to disagree with your assessment of bias and factual reporting.
“Overall, we rate Fox News strongly Right-Biased due to wording and story selection that favors the right and Mixed factually based on poor sourcing and the spreading of conspiracy theories that later must be retracted after being widely shared.”
CNN: Overall, we rate CNN left biased based on story selection that often favors the left. We rate them Mixed for factual reporting due to misinformation and failed fact checks from guests and pundits. However, CNN’s straight news reporting would earn a High rating for factual reporting.
