   Speaking on Wednesday to the House of Commons justice committee, the former justice minister and attorney general said that she and her staff faced four months of a “sustained” and “inappropriate effort” to push for a possible deferred prosecution agreement for the Quebec-based engineering and construction company.
   That agreement would have allowed the firm to avoid a criminal trial and instead agree to alternative terms or conditions, like penalties or enhanced compliance measures.
   It was an option rejected in September by the Public Prosecution Service of Canada – an independent authority whose main objective is to prosecute federal offences – and one she supported.

I have used that one myself.
    Cohen? Isn’t he the one the wack job commentators on the Union site say he went to Prague to meet with the Russians and collude with them about Julian Assange? Can’t convince them otherwise. They are absolutely convinced, yet Cohen has never been to Prague per his passport and no charges ever about the trip to Prague or meeting secretly with the Russians or Cohen secretly dealings with Wikileaks has ever been leveled at Cohen by Mueller or our counterintelligence agencies. That info came from Nellie Orh when she was working for Fusion GPS and feeding it to the press and her husband at Justice to feed to the FBI, lol. I believe her.
    Of course, that was when the Left hated Cohen and before the Left now loves him. I called Cohen a liar once, but now I believe him, ROFLMAO

    How many of the charges Cohen had been convicted of relate to Trump? All, none, one? Like Manafort, cheating on taxes is not good. How many of Manafort’s crimes relate to Trump? How many of Gates crimes relate to Trump? How many of George the Greek’s crime relate to Trump? Oh, George the Greek has done his time, I hear. A free man after doing weekends in jail…or did he get out of that. Too bad they have thrown a gag order on him. That seems unfair. Do your time and one should be free to talk about anything.
    Ok, back to Flynn. I would be surprised if he does one hour in jail. Talking to the Russsian Ambassador was not a crime. They had every word of the conservation of the call between the Ambassador and Flynn before the FBI interviewed him. Not remembering or omitting every detail when talking to the FBI is a crime. In fact, Flynn’s statments were not considered a crime per Super Duper FBI Agent Peter Strzok when he interviewered Flynn. Neither did Comey consider Flynn’s statements a crime. After Comey was fired, Flynn’s statements became a crime. Sweet. That’s how it works.

    Cohen told lawmakers he had no proof of Russia-Trump election collusion. “Questions have been raised about whether I know of direct evidence that Mr. Trump or his campaign colluded with Russia. I do not. I want to be clear,” Cohen testified.
    Cohen also provided testimony anew that he never went to Prague to help rig the 2016 presidential election with Russians, thus undercutting one of the main accusations in the Hillary Clinton-funded Steele dossier used by the FBI to justify a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant on the Trump campaign in the final weeks of the election. “I’ve never been to Prague,” Cohen testified.
    Cohen also publicly debunked a BuzzFeed News report in January that Trump directed Cohen to lie to Congress and provided evidence to special counsel Robert Mueller’s office. Mueller already has disputed the report, and Cohen did, too, for the first time Wednesday. “Mr. Trump did not directly tell me to lie to Congress. That’s not how he operates,” he testified.
    Cohen said he did overhear a conversation in which Trump adviser Roger Stone, himself now indicted by prosecutors, gave the future president a heads-up in summer 2016 that WikiLeaks was about to publish hacked emails from Democrats.
    Fascinating for MSNBC viewers. But Cohen alleged no crime, and any journalist — and there are many — who used WikiLeaks information and published it over the past many years knows it is protected by the First Amendment.

    Well, one good thing today: Whether or not Trump was a draft dodger, today he paid all possible debts in that area by serving on active duty on behalf of the United States in, not only Vietnam, but the in the capital of the former enemy. And he did so while trying to resolve a conflict that defines my life since age 5: Korea.
    The only real question is how many nork opressors need rescue. We’ve been here before in Germany. Fortunately the Egerms decided to simply ignore the sins of their oppressors/neighbors and the whole thing only cost money.
    Don’t know the opinion of the victims here, but the larger problem is that S Korea, unlike the FRG, seems unwilling to shoulder the economic load. Shame on them. L

My post immediately disappeared, most likely because it WAS so ridiculously slanted leftward that it was obvious satire, but I’ve yet to see the moderator question the veracity of any of BC’s equally ridiculous “news” feeds.
