[The NCAA now allows transgender females to compete in women's track events, and soon other sports. The big concern that needs to be addressed is not that the transgenders are setting new records for women, but that this makes no never mind to the officials now fashioning this new sports world, “Focusing on performance advantage is largely irrelevant because this is a rights issue. We shouldn’t be worried about trans people taking over the Olympics. We should be worried about their fairness and human rights instead.” (more here) gjr]

Now this should make the Olympics fun to watch.

Nice to see we are on the same page ths morning. Listened to an interview this morning with a polite young HS lady who lost in the state track and field prelims to two boys in the girls events, losing her chance to make it to the state finals and her dream of landing a scholarship (or partial scholarship) to college. And to lose to “boy” who is a sophomore. The college scouts only are at the state finals usually track and field. Everyone loves a winner. So much for a level playing field.
I forgot all those mornings in high school a young Biker Bill got up before school at the crack of dawn to go running off on the backroads, byways, hills and dales to get a few mile workout in before class every morn, rain or shine.
I have no doubt that almost any young man in the 20’s who is in decent shape (or not in bad shape) can beat the best a female team can muster. Laura Ingrahm once told the story of being on a collegiate La Crosse or field hockey team that just won the national Championship. The girls were pumped up to the max celebrating their victory and feeling like Superman on the bus when it pulled in back to Dartmouth. Still feeling pumped up, they saw some guys from a dorm playing soccer in an athletic field. The victorious ladies challenged the guys to a game of La Crosse and got their asses wiped. She could not believe the boys upper body strength, their athleticism. And these were just male students from a dorm who where either althelics or ever played La Crosse (or field hockey). Burst that bubble real quick.
This ain’t little Bobbie Riggs playing Billie Jean King in tennis here. Isn’t synthetic testosterone a banned substance for Olympic athelics? Don’t men naturally have more testosterone and hormones than females?
Ah, I will steal a link Dr.Rebane posted on Scattershots and repost it here. Thanks doc.

Ah, what is a true woman? Born that way always works for me.
Is it genitalia? Is it chromosomes? Is it hormones?” Susan Cahn, a history professor at the University at Buffalo and author of Coming on Strong: Gender and Sexuality in 20th Century Women’s Sports, told BuzzFeed News. While the IAAF and IOC have continued to search for new ways to neatly sort athletes into “female” and “male” categories, their main goal, she said, has stayed the same: excluding athletes who don’t fit the mold of “true women.”

A woman who allegedly attacked a man sporting a “Make America Great Again” hat was apprehended Tuesday by Immigration and Customs Enforcement after authorities discovered she is unlawfully present in the U.S.
“Deportation officers with ICE’s Fugitive Operations Team arrested Rosiane Santos, an unlawfully present citizen of Brazil, today near Falmouth, Massachusetts,” ICE spokesman John Mohan said, CBS News reported Tuesday.
“Santos is currently facing local charges for assault and other offenses. She is presently in ICE custody and has been entered into removal proceedings before the federal immigration courts,” Mohan added.

Swallows,
Who eats in Nevada City? Not me. Not since that rude service I received last time I took out of town guests there. This red head dude was a complete asshole and then I found he owns the place. The sign said please wait here to be seated. So, we stood there and he came out and acted we were in his way and gave us dirty looks and even a litttle
push. And we were all dressed up and looked respectable. If I did not have my guests with me, I would have dropped the fucker right there, cut his nuts off, and shoved down his throat. And gone to jail. Some New Orleans Wannbe resturant. Never going back there, ever. That red headed punk will get his at another time, or never.
Another place down by Deer Creek wanted over 15 bucks for a burger during lunch. I paid it, but never again…7 years or so ago. Plus, what that wack job tin foil hat lay said about cops, and knowing several older women assaulted or harassed behind the National and Miners Foundry, have at it. Go for it. Nevada City is doing just fine without me. Probably better.
I will never spend a penny in that town again, as if really makes a difference, lol. I go there if I have to. To each his own. Variety is the spice of life.
I used to pal around with a guy for a few years who was born and raised inside Pioneer Park. His Daddy did all the stonework in Pioneer Park back in the day. My dago friend. He showed me where he hunted after school along with his classmates…which is now around Railroad Ave and Gold Flat. He showed me old sheds in the blackberry bushes right off Gold Flat covered in blackberry bushes. Still there, must have driven by it a 1,000 times and you would never notice, It was a mechanics shop for the old Narrow Guage.
Anyway, he said the same thing several other native sons I know say. That is, “They will never step foot in Nevada City again.” The libs ruint it.” It’s true. He drives around the town rather than drive through it. His hometown, lol. Not his town no more. Oh, they all will die off sooner than later. It’s some body else’s town now. I go there if I have to. Do miss a nice theater in the Round now and then and foreign film festivals with subtitles, and animated film festivals. A small sacrifice to pay after what that nutjob said about cops. There are other places to go to and eat at.
But, by all means, go for it. It’s a free country.

In the “Republican rule #1984: alway accuse the other guys of what you are doing” category: Slippery Mitch McConnell put the blame on Democrats for Republican election fraud in N. Carolina for failing to recognize that voter fraud Republicans were screaming about for years was real. Duh.. It seem ole Mitchy got his frauds mixed up. The fraud at the top of republican’s list is accusing illegal immigrants and other illegal voters of trying to manipulate the outcome in favor of Democrats (never proven and considered virtually non-existent)…. this version of republican voter fraud involves actually taking ballots (ballot fraud) in an effort to manipulate the votes of actual legal registered voters. Proven beyond a reasonable doubt.. in fact the republican who won the election via fraud said today he would not seek election again citing health reasons. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Another reminder to the po’ ol’ fakenewsman why the historic holding of the Senate really matters so much in the real world.

Well that was awfully pasteless of me!
The Senate on Tuesday confirmed President Trump’s nominee to be a judge on the liberal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in a party-line vote — and, in a historic snub, the White House ignored the input of the judge’s two Democratic home-state senators in the process.
The aggressive and unprecedented move to give the so-called “blue slip” consultation process the slip comes as the Trump administration seeks to erode left-wing dominance on the key appellate court, which Trump has called “disgraceful” and politically biased.
With a sprawling purview representing nine Western states, the appellate court has long been a thorn in the side of the Trump White House, with rulings against his travel ban policy and limits on funding to “sanctuary cities.”

I for one am most pleased with the decision in North Carolina. All I seek is the truth. The issue is ballot harvesting. The canidate had an operative that was harvesting ballots. Paying folks a couple bucks a ballot to go out there and collect ballots. The thing that really touched me was the candidate’s own son (an assistant US prosecutor who worked on his dad’s campaign) about obvious red flag concerning the operative. Very candid and honest testimony by all. A moving moment watching the testimony and following the case. There was no evidence or charges that the “winning” candidate knew , yet he did miss some red flags. When presented with the statistical evidence of the high chance
of hanky panky went down, the candidate called for a new election along with the local election board, BOTH of whom first resisted calling for a new election.
The next day (yesterday) the canidate himself withdrew his name for consideration, a move he was not required to do.
He figured the primary election was now so tainted and rather than do a redo of the election, it was best to preserve the integrity of the election process ahead of his personal ambitions. Thus he withdrew, even though he personally was not under a cloud of suspicion or target of allegations. Can’t remember if the operative actually even worked for the campaign. A good moment for The Truth.
What makes the North Carolina case different from the allegations of ballot harvesting in CA is that it was a bottom up I nvestigation in North Carolina, starting at the local level. In CA, all election fraud investigations are stopped at the local level, stopped half way up the chain, and all START at the top. Rather than working it’s way up to the CA Sec of State, all investigations in CA work their way down from the Sec of State. A glaring potential for political abuse. The Sec of State can start or quench whole shebang. No investigation into CA ballot harvesting will be commenced unless it is started by Padilla, or whatever his name is. If he says no, then no investigation will commence, including at the local level. Truth won in NC, nothing to see here in CA.

The total $4.5 billion investment by Fiat Chrysler will mean a total of about 6,500 new U.S. jobs at existing Michigan plants with plans to build a new assembly plant in the city limits of Detroit, marking the first time a new plant will be built in the city in almost three decades.
“The reborn Mack facility would be the first new assembly plant to be built in the city of Detroit in nearly three decades,” Fiat Chrysler executives said in a statement. “Jefferson North was the last new assembly plant built in the city in 1991. When complete, Mack would join Jefferson North as the only automotive assembly plants to be located completely within the city limits of Detroit.”
