I would never predict the outcome of 2020. That is several political lifetimes away. So is 6 months. Nah, that was a Trump tweet I was quoting from memory. In the ‘ finally a Republican with a moral compass’ category: The Republican candidate in the N. Carolina 9th congressional district race that was tainted with fraud (in his favor) said this, “I believe new election should be called…It’s become clear to me the public’s confidence in the 9th District seat general election has been undermined to an extent that a new election is warranted.”
How many here think trump will do the same thing if, in fact, it is proven that the Russians interfered with our election? After all he did lose the popular vote and was elected by the electoral college by barely winning a few key states. Now, if anti-Hillary propaganda campaigns conducted in specific precincts in specific states by Russian operatives on behalf of trump, had an effect on the outcome then should we also have a new election? Should we have a new election even if an effect cannot be proven but meddling can?

Well, what I think should happen and what the Special Consuel statue orders Meuller to do with the report is clear. It’s rather silent on what AG Barr can do. Anything he wants. That will put a stop to that nonsense, but the parts I am interested in will be blocked for reasons of National Security….like holding up the release of only the FISA apps (just 17 pages is all we ask) and memos b.ocked that showed somebody bought a $70,000 table for their office. Release it all. Honestly, no. I want to dig backwards and unreel the whole mess. There’s something wrong in the Justice Department I think and it’s time to clean a little house.
You know, it might just be that ageing national police and intelligence agencies simply need to be booted to the street every couple of decades. Everybody gets fired, at least all executive staff. It’s in their nature to become increasingly dominant over time and they can represent a real threat to the republic at some point.
As a side note, in our new Surveillance State, people are going to have to get used to their Lords and Masters not having perfect resumes and past activities. Think of your own peccadillos. The weaponizing of college yearbooks is one of the most stupid things I’ve seen in years.

Huh, did I say that? I can’t remember it being much of an issue. The rape charges amounted to something of course. Maybe Democrats didn’t worry so much about rape in those days.
You can make a case against some substance abuse. Trump doesn’t drink at all, Hillary is a famously aggressive drunk. I’m surprised that I didn’t hear more about that in the campaign. Maybe he test marketed ‘Drunk Hillary’ in some market and it didn’t sell.
