[I think it's profitable to continue the discussion about how the progressive Left is certain about President Trump's unsuitability for office in light of his domestic and foreign policy record, and the record of investigations that to no avail have sought to nail him. And in light and in spite of this record, how our Left has become more confident that all their evidence-free allegations and more are true beyond the need for any further substantiation. gjr]

Well hell, just look at what he’s done. Got rid of the mandate for health insurance (I disagree with that, but it doesn’t break my heart), is trying to spend some money on the border (similar amounts have been spent in the past), pushed back on Chinese trade issues, trying to get us out of Syria, appears somewhat unconcerned with global warmcooling (or at least the smallish US percentage of the total hit).
Good Lord man! The dude is crazy!! Some bigcity psychologists said so!!! Time to break out them pink hats and signs!!!!

Re PaulE’s 944am from last Sandbox – Did McCabe et al commit treason? To the extent that the allegations against them – say, as most recently outlined by VDH – are true, I would then conclude that their efforts went well beyond ‘politics as usual’, and do constitute the Constitution’s requirement.
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
By definition, instigating a coup against a lawfully seated government is to be a de juris enemy of the country, especially since the purpose of the attempted coup is to install a successor government that, by all accounts, seeks to fundamentally transform America into a nation neither bequeathed by our Founders nor desired by a major segment of its current population. Most certainly there is evidence enough to indict a number of the ‘players’ for having committed a number of different felonies.

Also, McCabe and his pals could be Russian agents along the lines of a Manchurian candidate. That might be the next investigation. They used a phony dossier paid for by Hillary Clinton. And perhaps she may be the Manchurian Candidate.

re BillT 955am – I am proudly guilty of my early and enduring assessment that a large share of reporters are profoundly ignorant if not also stupid. And as the news industry has recently both shrunk and transformed (cable and internet), the money to pay for the former numbers of the educated, bright, and ethical have dwindled. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t still a small number of good journalists remaining, but it does mean that it is not unreasonable (in a Bayesian sense) for one to assume that a newly introduced reported has a significant intellectual deficit until more evidence arrives to counter the first take. In short, Mollie Hemingway’s recent tweet confirms my assessment.

Of course you don’t!
Yes Punch….who has the authority under the 25th amendment? Not McCabe and cabal! I know that when you are LARPing Matlock you think a bold statement like, “McCabe and the others were simply raising the question and rightfully so.” will carry the argument but Trump hadn’t even been in office long enough for them to raise the issue, if it were even legal for them to do so! Which according to legal minds with more credibility than the eminent Paul Emery it wasn’t“……there were no grounds whatsoever for attempting to remove the president on 25th amendment grounds!” (Alan Dershowitz)

When people can’t refute the facts they try and discredit the source. Probably the impetus for all the ” disgruntled former employee, socialist , commie, proggy, significant intellectual deficit, liberalism is a disease, gov’t employees are bad except soldiers and police, education is broken, Paul Emery is hopeless, trolls, etc. etc. that graces these pages. The far right really doesn’t have much of a leg left to stand on policy wise (making more money for the wealthy excepted), and with trump in office no moral authority, so they have to resort to character assassination to try and mitigate the discrepancies in their brains. Otherwise their entire system of beliefs and values would come under question and you can’t teach an old white dog new tricks…apparently.

Book peddlers? Hair on fire? ROFLMAO. Like Omrsa teasing folks with her posessing secret tape of Trump using the N word years ago during the production of an Apprentice episode?? How absolutely tantalizing. McCabe’s agent must be tickled pink, his lawyers not so much. Now he is backpeddling (pun intended) at a high rate of speed.
Oh, they all put forth some teasers to peddle books…until the bark is worse than the bite when one actually cracks the cover and realizes they have been snookered again. Click bait.
———
“McCabe spent the bulk of the interview painting himself as a dedicate, apolitical leader interested only in the truth and portraying the president as a volatile bully who was potentially a traitor. But the real bottom line from Sunday’s interview? Pelley pulled his punches and gifted McCabe nearly a half-an-hour of free network air time to slam the president, implicate Rosenstein in a soft-coup conspiracy, and plea his own innocence in any wrongdoing.
While McCabe probably enjoyed his 15 minutes of revenge, more importantly, the former deputy director needed to get out in front of any potential criminal charges that might be forthcoming under recently-confirmed Attorney General William Barr.
After all, nothing has yet come of the Office of Inspector General’s scathing report on McCabe’s conduct and the findings that on three separate occasions McCabe “lacked candor” when questioned under oath.
But McCabe told “60 Minutes” that “he was confused by the investigators’ questions and distracted by the Comey crisis.”
“There’s absolutely no reason for anyone and certainly not for me to misrepresent what happened,” McCabe said, “So no. Did I ever intentionally mislead the people I spoke to? I did not. I had no reason to. And I did not.”
Whether the DOJ will indict McCabe under the new leadership of Barr is yet to be seen. But if McCabe is indicted, he had better prepare for tougher questions than the ones “60 Minutes” lobbed his way on Sunday night.“

The good thing with Vitalis was it had no smell. I was once locked up in rehab ward, many moons ago, higher than a kite. Ole Nurse Rachet was circling around me, sniffing the air, searching my pockets, looking under my bunk, in the waste bins, everywhere…. even checking in the toilet bowl tank. She knew I was getting sideways but could not find my stash.
Finally with the alcohol loosening my lips and lowering my guard, I fessed up. I grabbed a nearby empty water glass and holding it up for her to see and using my thumb and forefinger as a visual aid, I told Nurse Rachet, “This much Vitalis and this much water gets ya where you want to be!”
Oh, she got all upset, said I was making a mockery of the ward and gave me the boot. What got in to her? Some people have no sense of humor..

Scenes 12:57 — good job.. of stringing together out of context quotes. That must have taken a long time to track down. A good argument except for one aspect.. You are comparing apples to horseshoes. Your examples refer to the factual accuracy of media outlets as determined by fact checkers that I was passing on to the readers. I was referring to personal attacks by labeling people with names and phrases with negative connotations in an effort to impute them as a person. People can dispute facts all they want, that is what an open discussion is all about.. but name calling is another thing without any merit.

So, Bobby LaCross – what’s the difference between impugning a news source instead of directly challenging their actual news and impugning a person instead of directly challenging their statements?
Answer – nothing.
What you are doing is called ‘projecting’.
If someone links a news item to Fox or Breitbart or whatever you need to accept the news or provide facts to back up your challenge to the item, not the source.
Got it?

Come on, no big lower lip or licking wounds cause you got called mean nasty names like Socialist or Commie Bastard,. Very unbecoming. Nobody is disputing the fact that the current numbers of illegals swimming acrossing the Rio Grande or crossing the hostile desert have been much higher in the past, pinko.
To use your sound reasonings, lets do an analogy. Say, there were 2,000 murders in the year 1999 or 2000 in NYC. Then the murder rate drops to 300 for the calendar year 2017. But, it jumped from 300 to 600 murders in 2018.
Would you say, “No worries, it’s been a lot higher in the past. Just a jump in 300 murders last year. Ain’t even close to 2,000. Only 300, nothing to see. Extra cops not needed.” Of course not. Only a soulless person would utter such a thing.
We have seen a substantial year (2017) over year increase (2018) and now month over year for 2019 is really shooting up, like a 18% spike in 1/19 over1/18, Feb (this month) projected to be 25% bump over 2/2018 and we just came off the 2nd biggest November of folks with families on record.
Think of it like looking at your hockey stick. See that arrow pointing up, up, up and away? It will be just like Mann’s hockey stick.
If it makes you feel better, we currently don’t have an illegal alien problem, we have an asylum crisis. Can’t handle the requests, don’t have the resources. And we know that a large majority of the asylum requests will be not quality. Rejected.
And if it makes you feel much better, the “non-concrete” barriers are only one piece of the puzzle to try to get a handle on it.
Cheers.

In an interview with Space.com, Michael Dodge, an assistant professor in the Department of Space Studies at the University of North Dakota, likened the creation of a Space Force with the birth of the Air Force in the 20th century.
The early version of the U.S. Air Force existed as the U.S. Army Air Corps, an aerial warfare sector of the U.S. Army. But as planes continued to advance technologically and find their way into mainstream travel, “Congress decided they needed to have a new branch of the military,” Dodge said. The country needed a branch that could “address issues unique to this domain.” The Air Force became the fifth branch of the U.S. armed forces in 1947.
The Space Force would essentially serve the same purpose, but for space. Dodge said it would “free up the Air Force to focus on what it does best,” as the new branch addressed issues unique to space.
Dodge noted that this space-oriented, sixth military branch makes the most sense now. ” [O]ur assets are so critical in outer space and everything that we do is so dependent on outer space that we need a new force capable of focusing on that domain by itself,” he said.”

During a campaign event in New Hampshire, California Sen. Kamala Harris said she would be willing to change the name of Columbus Day to “Indigenous Peoples’ Day.”
I’m sure she would! After letting Willie Brown grunt and sweat all over her she must figure that she’s through the hard part…. further pandering to the “indigenous” should be a cakewalk at this point!
