Actually, I did NOT take the sandbox away from ToddJ. Any blogger can run a sandbox; I just take some small credit (perhaps erroneously) for having invented the sandbox concept for blogs. ToddJ contacted me and recommended that I instead of he continue running the sandbox – reluctantly I agreed. I would still encourage anyone else within earshot (eyeshot?) to start and maintain an open forum sandbox. If it catches on, I would shut down RR’s sandbox in a heartbeat.

One of the reasons Todd couldn’t run a successful sandbox is that he was shutting down contributors left and right (okay, mostly left). What was left standing was an echo chamber reverberating with Todd’s own “ilk”. It was a failed concept because of a failed moderator, just as Dragonsbreathe and Pelline’s sites are now. Not many clicks when there isn’t much controversy. It takes a lively conversation and not just a passel of yes men or attaboys to roil up a good conversation.

Redlands does not award Ph.D.’s in ANYTHING. They do have an Ed.D. program.
Now, reread the snippet I did read before you posted it here, and pay attention to the sentence that reads “MS and PhD (University of [placename deleted]) in physics”. Hint: the placename deleted is NOT Redlands.

Gregory. A sad day for us. A quick eulogy to Pat Caddell, 68:years young.
It was Pat’s research that told me Trump would win three to four weeks weeks out even though Pat was most perplexed that even though the voter anger had not gone anywhere, it had yet to show up in the polling. Voters not broke yet, three weeks to go and a 1 in 4 chance of Trump winning. Maybe less.
Pat’s polling and asking the right questions (with more listening than asking) revealed the true essence of the 2016 elections. The voters not only felt America was heading in the wrong direction, but for the first time in history Americans felt they were leaving the next generation a country worse off than the America the current generation inherited. Pat knew of the unspoken pact of the American Dream…that it is the duty of the current generation to pass down to their children a better life and better America than that which was handled down to them. Pat said at the time the voters feel that “There will always be a United States, but there may not be alway be a ‘America’. Bingo. That’s why Make America Great Again was not a slogan, it was a call to the unspoken pact between generations, IMHO. A call to arms for preserving our Great Union called America.
Oh, the media pundits laughed and even ridiculed the notion as ridiculous that Trump was wasting his time even going to Pennsylvania for campaign stops, not to mention Michigan or Wisconsin. How absurd. Big laughs. What a novice. Campaign in disarray, falling apart.
Pat knew, Trump knew. Pat had seen it before with Jimmy Carter. Carter way up in the polls with Reagen having no chance on the Friday before the Tuesday elections. It was Pat that had to break the news to Jimmy on the Sunday before Tuesday’s elections that he would not be the next President. Pat told Carter not to debate Reagen those last few days (literally) before the election. But no.
I will miss you, Pat Caddell. You were right. You never left the Democrat Party, the Democrat Party left you.
