Just listened to a great live interview with Punchy’s love doll Ann on Savage. She is depressed that Trump signed the bill. That’s it. I, too, was begging for a CR. Poison pills. Nevada City Charter School was voted to not be renewed because of low test scores, specifically those related to the math portion of the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress. Those results, in addition to results from the slightly lower English Language Arts/Literacy section, were well below that of Nevada County and California schools.
The decline of math scores at the charter school slightly precedes the arrival of Common Core Math, a new strategy for learning math, which became mandated by California schools in the fall of 2014, and was tested statewide by the spring of 2015.
In 2016, 2017 and 2018, the percentage of students who met or exceeded the standard of achievement on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress in math was 9, 16 and 18 percent, respectively. These low scores, according to the superintendent, were cause for closing the school.
“The board is required to consider academic performance as the most important factor when reviewing renewal,” said Dellis at the meeting. The charter school, she added, has not been keeping up with state standards, which is why she advocated its closure.

Don’t know how they get the aggregate scores. Please, do tell. For year one of Common Core, the State scored solely on participation rates. There was a student walkout at Berkeley High (?) protesting the general unfairness of testing and how test results could harm and relflect poorly on their favorite teachers. So, that rich privileged white school got a failing score as participation rate was in the toilet, lol.
Glad that is not the case at NC Charter.
“The school’s closing was not related to students who had not taken the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress, according to Board President Sandy Hakala. The academic performance of Nevada City Charter School students only included those who participated in taking the statewide test.
“I want to correct what appears to be a common misconception,” said Hakala at the meeting. “Those students who opt out of testing and receive a zero do not bring down the average.”

“(Parents) can bring forth a new charter,” said Dellis, essentially, starting the school over again from scratch. This time, she said, there would have to be a greater emphasis on teaching and practicing Common Core Math.”

The flashback ends, and back at the MSNBC studio Todd asks the Washington Post’s Robert Costa, “Who would it be in telling Donald Trump, at the middle of July, that giving him that Kremlin talking point, that most of those people speak Russian? Was it Mike Flynn, was it Paul Manafort?”

Costa says it could have been either one. Then Chuck asks Evelyn Farkas—a “Former Pentagon Russia Expert” in the Obama administration—where Trump could have gotten such a talking point, because “nobody else was saying that… nobody in the foreign policy community was saying this?” Here, Todd is implying that Trump, unwitting or not, only could have gotten such a talking point from Russia.

“Crimea had been part of Russia since 1783, when tsarist forces won it from the Ottoman Turks, until 1954. In 1954, Nikita Khrushchev gifted Crimea from Soviet Russia to Soviet Ukraine—which, at the time, was essentially the same thing. The transfer was likely meant to reduce ethnic differences between the two Soviet entities, as Crimea’s Russian population could be added to Ukraine’s already sizeable Russian minority. So yes, Trump was factually correct, and it shouldn’t be Russian propaganda to point out Crimea’s Russian population.
Likewise, it isn’t being a Russia apologist to point out that Putin’s motivations at the time were largely driven by realpolitik, not an ethnically driven land grab. Russia has an important naval base in Crimea, which allows it to project power in the Black Sea, which is highly strategically important for Russia. Russia had leased the base from Ukraine until 2042, but the fall of Ukraine’s pro-Russia government in 2014—which Washington had at least something to do with—caused concern about Russia’s continued use of the base. So Putin snapped up Crimea that same year.
That doesn’t excuse Putin’s actions. But knowing the motivations of your opponent, and what he truly seeks, is an essential element to a successful foreign policy.

I only know the state hid the results for year two and has continued to hide or delay meaningful breakdowns for months, if released at all. Classroom, teacher breakdowns are like pulling teeth to get, if even possible. CYA

Ding ding ding ding we have a weiner at his lardships blog… at he FUE writes about his godparent… “My “godparent” received a master’s from there in theology, as well as a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Redlands”
Following the link he gave… Jeff didn’t know where the guy went to grad school… hint, Jeff… it wasn’t Redlands, which really doesn’t have much of a grad school… the only “doctorate” it grants is in Education. Redlands ranks 11 in US News Western Regional universities… LMU which the FUE was ridiculing not long ago, is #3. LMU also outranks Jeff’s Nortwestern in average grads salaries.
So, Jeff, what else don’t you know about the guy?
