On a different topic “Make Believe” is sold out at the Nevada Theatre for today’s final performance. Thanks George, Joanne and the Union for the boost. The great turnout of our local community to support this wonderful original production by our very own Dalrymple MacAlpin is a great example of our communities support for the arts and local talent especially.

I was a man of action for forty years and got a lot done while you were sitting on your hands yapping into a microphone. How many roads did you pave or create? There’s always been a successful form of children’s author that produced books for kids who hate their lives, a kind of porn for children at the bottom of the social heap. Aha! Brings me back to grade school when we had to learn a big word every day, A-Z. When it came to X, the word was xenophobia. Originally, the word meant fear of the unknown, fear of the foreign. Over time, the word evolved to be fear of foreign(er). Fear of the unknown. Like burning on burn days?

There was Roger Brown, but he reported to camp too big and got cut one year…..and went off into the twilight, if memory serves me correctly. And Dick Bass was the 3 yards and a cloud of dust guy. That’s all I remember. Merlin, Marlen, potatoe, potato…I am going by memory, too lazy to look it up. :).
Now to jog your memory. Who was the soccer style kicker for UCLA when Gary Beban was playing? Think it started with a Z. Boy, did he blow it against Oregon St on a 2 yard field goal as time ran out…..ended in a tie and a near riot. College was much more exciting that the pros.
