The F-35 was once trounced by F-16s in dogfights, but it just proved it can out-turn older jets.

I just assume that they’ll build one too many generations of manned fighters. Bummer that it’s so expensive, although the service life seems grossly exaggerated. No doubt they spread the money through a bunch of Congressmen’s districts.

Maybe not! That Chinese Admiral is right. We are extremely casualty averse and all the “stuff” required to keep a pilot in the seat is complex, costs money, and takes up space perhaps better used for fuel, weapons, and sensors.
I’m just glad after committing…..what…..close to a trillion dollars for the beast it seems to finally be living up to the hype.
I suppose time will tell.

After reading several stories about Toxic Masculinity yesterday and finally getting around to watching the Gillette commercial this morning, I have concluded hair is in the air. One group of women as declared this month as no shave Januhairy for women. Another as declared Get Hairy February.
What stuns me the most is how far our society needs to go. I am appalled that both (assumed) male and female commentators and both (assumed) male and female journalists continued to use that toxic word “grooming”. Discussions of men grooming is abhorrent. What, are we all British now?

Another good report from Mollie Hemingway about those who are sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States and their puppets.
“Shortly before Ohr’s testimony in August, The New York Times took part in a bizarre effort to get investigators looking elsewhere. Reporters Michael Shear, Katie Benner, and Nicholas Fandos claimed that it was a “conspiracy theory” to view him as having a role in the Trump dossier saga.
“Ohr is an interesting character in the Russia-Trump collusion investigation because his role was unknown for a long time. The former top career official at the Department of Justice was a 27-year veteran with no role in counterintelligence operations. Initially, the FBI and Department of Justice claimed he had no involvement in the probe, despite his marriage to a Fusion GPS contractor. Then they claimed his role was unique and was unknown by others in the department.
“It turns out that Ohr kept top officials at both the FBI and Department of Justice apprised of his conversations with Steele, passed along electronic and written materials from multiple Fusion GPS employees, and shared key information that was excluded from the FISA application to the courts.
“According to Ohr’s testimony, just days after his July 30, 2016, meeting with Steele, he sought out top FBI officials. His first meeting involved none other than Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who later lost his job for lying about some of his leaks to reporters. Shortly thereafter, Ohr met with top Justice Department officials, including two who now serve on the special counsel.”……
That Ohr was briefing one of Lynch’s top deputies, and heads of various divisions, counters the previous narrative that Justice officials were in the dark about Ohr’s work. That it took place in late summer refutes the claims he only got involved after the election. Ohr also testified that he met with Peter Strzok and others.
In conversations with various members, Ohr claimed he repeatedly made it clear to the FBI that the information was not verified, risked bias, and had been obtained under political circumstances.“

I am saying Trumps polling is the worst it’s been in a year. A bad sigh for the Republicans who lost 40 seats in the House at a time his polls were higher than they are now. It will only get worse with the Dems taking advantage of Trumps stupid move in shutting down the government.
Yes, Congressional Polls are low especially when the Repubs controlled it all. The polls as of Jan 1, when the Pubs still controlled all were an astounding -69.3. Very little polling since then.

More on “confess you worms and lick our stilettos.”
PJ Media’s Jim Treacher aptly describes where P&G is coming from. “Consumers, men in particular, must be made to feel worthless,” he explains. “They have to be reminded that their needs and desires are wrong under any circumstances, that their instincts are loathsome, that their very existence is a malignancy, and that they’re responsible for all the world’s ills whether they want to admit it or not.”
“Now give [P&G] your money, you piece of garbage.”
Millions of Americans have zero interest in such pompous pretentiousness. They’re sick and tired of being lectured, cajoled, berated, and bombarded by a collection of self-appointed blowhards who have the unmitigated gall to believe they, and they alone, own the franchise on enlightened thinking, even as they remain utterly oblivious to their own humorless, hypocritical, and overbearing shortcomings.

,,,Voss, founder and CEO of strategy consultancy Black Swan Group , previously told CNBC’s “Power Lunch” that Trump is “an assertive, openly aggressive negotiator.”
“He’s actually the kind of negotiator that as a hostage negotiator I had to learn how to get the upper hand on, without making them mad, without making it worse,” Voss said.
The problem with that style, according to Voss, is that “people get tired of dealing with them.”
Trump stormed out of a meeting with Democrats a week ago. Such a tactic can make it more difficult to find a long-term solution if it alienates the other side.
“Aggressive tactics, short term, are eminently satisfying, and then you run into trouble and you start having problems long term,” Voss tells CNBC Make It.
Voss isn’t alone. Several other negotiations experts have pointed out that Trump’s negotiating style — a zero-sum strategy in which there’s only one winner and one loser rather than both sides getting something — may be better suited to real estate deals, where you can always find another deal partner, than more high-stakes political negotiations where it is imperative that two sides reach an agreement.
Meanwhile, Voss is impressed by Trump’s counterparts, Democratic leaders like Charles Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who Voss says has a lot of negotiating experience now that she’s in her second stint as speaker.

Very impressive indeed…..so impressive she got herself negotiated off the military VIP fleet that was going to whisk her off on a fabulous Brussels and Egyptian getaway (I guess ol Nancy just stays on the plane and drinks during those awful, awful Afghanistan stops)
She should probably send the president a thank you note for keeping her corrupt, bony ass in the country when the herd is getting ready to stampede! Wouldn’t it be embarrassing to come home to a funded and made operational government while she was fucking off overseas?

President Trump Directed His Attorney Michael Cohen To Lie To Congress About The Moscow Tower Project
Trump received 10 personal updates from Michael Cohen and encouraged a planned meeting with Vladimir Putin.
By Jason Leopold and Anthony Cormier
“President Donald Trump directed his longtime attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about negotiations to build a Trump Tower in Moscow, according to two federal law enforcement officials involved in an investigation of the matter.
Trump also supported a plan, set up by Cohen, to visit Russia during the presidential campaign, in order to personally meet President Vladimir Putin and jump-start the tower negotiations. “Make it happen,” the sources said Trump told Cohen.”
And even as Trump told the public he had no business deals with Russia, the sources said Trump and his children, Ivanka and Donald Trump Jr., received regular, detailed updates about the real estate development from Cohen, whom they put in charge of the project….

WELL: Shock Poll: Trump Gains 19 Points with Latino Voters During Border Wall Shutdown. “In the latest NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll released Thursday, President Donald Trump may have suffered some among Republicans overall, but he saw a huge point gain in a different demographic breakdown, and an unexpected one by conventional wisdom. In early December, the poll had Trump’s approval rating among Latino adults at 31%. The results from the poll released Thursday show the president’s job approval among Latino adults at 50%. That is an astonishing 19 point swing. Prior results had less variance, with Latino approval numbers at 36% in their November 1st findings. It was 27% in the pollster’s mid-October survey. The January poll was conducted during the government shutdown over border wall funding, most notably. So the big swing among Latinos was while Trump and Democrats faced off over funding for the wall.”
