[Get ready for President Trump's speech from the Oval Office tonight in which he'll try to convince us that there is national security crisis on our southern border, and that spending money to reduce border porosity is now a national priority which the Constitution allows, nay, requires him to exercise executive powers to defend America against an unending influx of poor, ignorant, and destitute foreigners who are told they have the right to illegally enter the country and establish a new life in America. gjr]

They also drew numerous comparisons to the 1930 American Gothic painting:
Their choice of a backdrop — a hallway with red walls, also conjured up images of the horror movie The Shining.
One journalist asked why there were six flags behind Pelosi and Schumer. “One for each ring of hell,” another responded.
Their performance was deemed so ridiculous that the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Twitter account used a picture of them as their account banner!

While estimates vary to how much the Wall would save taxpayers and what is the actual cost to taxpayers for illegal aliens here, there is no doubt that illegal immigration to the US is not revenue neutral. I would also point out that the 125 billion cost to the taxpayer does not include all costs such as incarceration, legal costs, and the costs of educating illegals. Be that as it may…..
“There is agreement among researchers that illegal immigrants overwhelmingly have modest levels of education — most have not completed high school or have only a high school education.
There is also agreement that immigrants who come to America with modest levels of education create significantly more in costs for government than they pay in taxes.
A recent NAS study estimated the lifetime fiscal impact (taxes paid minus services used) of immigrants by education. Averaging the cost estimates from that study and combining them with the education levels of illegal border-crossers shows a net fiscal drain of $74,722 per illegal crosser.
The above figures are only for the original illegal immigrants and do not include any costs for their U.S.-born descendants. If we use the NAS projections that include the descendants, the fiscal drain for border-crossers grows to $94,391 each.
This means that for each 100,000 illegal immigrants stopped or deterred by a wall, the saving to taxpayers would be nearly $7.5 billion.
If a border wall prevented 160,000 to 200,000 illegal crossings (excluding descendants) in the next 10 years it would be enough to pay for the estimated $12 to $15 billion cost of the wall. 1
Newly released research by the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) done for the Department of Homeland Security indicates that 170,000 illegal immigrants crossed the border successfully without going through a port of entry in 2015. While a significant decline in crossings from a decade ago, it still means that there may be 1.7 million successful crossings in the next decade. If a wall stopped just 9 to 12 percent of these crossings it would pay for itself.2
If a wall stopped half of those expected to successfully enter illegally without going through a port of entry at the southern border over the next 10 years, it would save taxpayers nearly $64 billion — several times the wall’s cost.”

“According to this fact check, Trump was wrong to say that “One in three women are sexually assaulted on the dangerous trek up through Mexico” because it’s actually as many as eight in ten. While Amnesty International’s numbers are truly horrifying to contemplate, the Department of Homeland Security told reporters that its numbers were from Doctors Without Borders.
Those numbers also showed that 17 percent of men are also sexually assaulted during the journey through Mexico. While both groups’ numbers are bad, their difference is a good reminder of the imprecision of many of these fact checks and why reporters should be cautious when calling other people liars.”

“The media, desperate to find falsehoods in President Donald Trump’s Oval Office address Tuesday night, conducted misleading “fact checks” on their websites.
Before the president even delivered his address, news outlets promised that they would be fact-checking Trump’s claims on illegal immigration, warning the American people that the speech would be full of false statements. However, the media didn’t find the lie-laced address that they were expecting and ended up publishing “fact checks” that refused to simply admit the president was correct.”

According to congressional records, Trump is correct when he said elected House and Senate Democrats previously supported funding for barriers and fences at the southern border.
The Secure Fence Act of 2006, which authorized the construction of 700 miles of the same style of bollard fence that Trump is building at the border, was supported by 26 Senate Democrats at the time. In the House, 64 Democrats joined 219 Republican lawmakers to fund the border fencing.
Those Democrats in support of funding the bollard border fencing included:
Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY)
Then-Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY)
Then-Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL)
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA)
Then-Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE)
Then-Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA)
All 54 Senate Democrats, in 2013, voted again to commit funding to secure 700 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border in the Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act — which was authored and introduced by Schumer.
In November 2018, there were close to 52,000 border crossings on the southern border, alone, marking the highest level of illegal immigration in the month of November since 2006.

It is not possible to have a discussion with liars like BoobieC. He lies about his own lies when caught. The fct checkers said he was accurate and did not lie. But that is even something the lying left can’t admit. We are simply divided and that is simply because the democrats are simple Trump haters. They have lost what little gray matter they once had.

Oh goodie, I might learn the truth! Tanks Bobbie, tanks a rock. Tanks PolitiFact, tanks a rocket.
This underlines that these “fact checkers” are really “context checkers,” because the sentence itself is true. Schumer and other Democrats repeatedly supported a physical barrier in the past. It doesn’t make Trump’s current sentence “un-factual” that he said the fence was too modest as he campaigned. It’s an interesting oppositional point, but it doesn’t make the sentence “misleading.”
https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/tim-graham/2019/01/09/trump-attacks-schumer-precisely-politifact-still-argues-he-misleads
————————————
Round and round the mulberry Bush, the monkey chased the weasels….
“The argument hinges on Democratic support of the Secure Fence Act of 2006, which was signed into law by President George W. Bush and authorized 700 miles of fencing along the southern border outside predominately urban areas. The legislation was seen as a potential first step toward passing comprehensive immigration reform. It authorized more checkpoints, advanced technology and unmanned aerial vehicles to help prevent illegal immigration.
Schumer and then-New York Senator Clinton both voted in favor of the legislation introduced on September 13, 2006, by Republican congressman Peter T. King of New York. The Fence Act passed 283-138 in the House and 80-19 in the Senate. Pelosi, however, voted nay on both the Secure Fence Act and the Border Security Bill, but voted in favor of authorizing the Homeland Security Department in May 2005.
Trump himself ridiculed the much smaller border project in an August 2016 interview with Hannity, in which the then-GOP presidential nominee Trump blamed “environmental” issues for preventing the “little wall, such a nothing wall” funded by the 2006 Secure Fence Act. But never one to shy away from his own ideological nuance, Trump derided Clinton during an October 2016 presidential campaign debate with her for having “fought for the wall in 2006.”
Trump’s do-or-die ultimatum amid the government shutdown regarding the border wall follows the narrative Mulvaney has been touting for years.
“We still don’t understand why the Democrats are so wholeheartedly against [the border wall]. They voted for it in 2006,” Trump’s now-acting White House Chief of Staff Mulvaney said in an April 2017 Fox News interview. “Then-Senator Obama voted for it. Senator Schumer voted for it. Senator Clinton voted for it. So we don’t understand why Democrats are now playing politics just because Donald Trump is in office.”
Bottomline: “They fooled Reagan. They fooled Bush 41. They fooled Bush 43. But they are not going to fool Donald Trump who has dealt with tougher than Pelosi and Schumer.”

It’s been since Reagen that the Dems have gotten their amnesties, their lax immigration laws, and all the goodies as part of the package to secure the border. Once the lying Dems got their goodies, border security disappeared. No mass. Secure the border first, close some loopholes, and then we can talk about DACA and TPS. First things first. You promised, you lying sacks of Dems since the 80’s. No more pinky promises.

More double standards.
It’s truly Nazi-esque. But a U.S. political establishment that was just months ago woke to anti-Semitism—it least when it might use that to dunk on Trump—has been missing in action.
The details of Akel’s plight are characteristically sketchy, but reports indicate he was either lured to Ramallah, or picked up off the street in Jerusalem by PA police, incarcerated, and potentially tortured. This was a particularly brazen act, given that Akel is a U.S. citizen, who carries an Israeli ID card that should provide him immunity from PA arrest.
In spite of all the significant threads coming together in the imprisonment and potential beating of an American by an autocratic regime for allegedly flouting an anti-Semitic law, the Western media and political class have been largely mum. There is no echo chamber lauding Akel’s putative bravery, nor haranguing Mahmoud Abbas and the PA for their brutality. There is no chorus lobbying for sanctioning the PA with the full force of the U.S. government. Rest assured, Akel’s face will not grace the cover of Time as “Person of the Year” anytime soon.
One must ask the simple question: Why? To be sure, there are differences between Akel and Khashoggi. But practically all of them cast Akel in a more sympathetic light. To our knowledge, Akel was not an outspoken Islamist, a Muslim Brotherhood exponent, or aligned with a rival faction to Abbas.
Nor was he a mouthpiece for anyone like the pre-9/11 head of Saudi intelligence-turned-ambassador, or a leading media figure in a state-controlled press corps, or by the best looks of things a useful idiot agent of influence for a foreign power.

What do you think LaMalfa and the few republican stragglers left in California think of this. Do you think Trump would do this if this was a Republican state?
“Trump Orders FEMA To Cut Off Aid For California Wildfire Recovery
The president said the fire-ravaged state will receive no more money until “they get their act together.”
“President Donald Trump on Wednesday said that he has ordered the Federal Emergency Management Agency to cut off wildfire relief aid for fire-scorched California until state officials “get their act together” and do a better job of managing forests.
The bizarre proclamation furthers the administration’s attempt to pin the devastation on environmentalists while ignoring the clear impact climate change is having on extreme fires out west.
“Billions of dollars are sent to the State of California for Forrest (sic) fires that, with proper Forrest (sic) Management, would never happen,” he wrote in a since-deleted post to Twitter. “Unless they get their act together, which is unlikely, I have ordered FEMA to send no more money. It is a disgraceful situation in lives & money!”

Moonbat bragged about a 10 billion “rainy day fund”.
The state HAS the money.
So tell us. If some asswipe was fighting you tooth and nail for anything and everything,,, then come begging for money,, just what would you do? ( forking over money won’t be your first reaction.)

That’s what happens when you worry more about virtue signaling than the safety of your employees and customers, you know the people who buy things for real –

If true I can certainly understand why. Newsome will spends billions to give medical to illegals, welfare and foodstamps and thumb his nose at the President. Then like some petulant child, Newsome and the democrats whine. California has 11 billion in the rainy day fund so perhaps the poor people in West Virginia can keep their own money.
Honestly, Newsome just tweeted top Trump that California should not be trapped in partisan bickering. Can you see how crazy Newsome and the democrats are? Or like always you are a lefty partisan.

LOL!!! Look what just show up to answer poor Paul.
Try reading the local rag Paul.
https://www.theunion.com/news/u-s-rep-doug-lamalfa-responds-to-trump-tweet/
“LaMalfa in a release said that he shares Trump’s frustration with state regulations that create a “stranglehold,” but added that the president’s threats don’t help.
“… the immediate problem for fire victims is the first need, and threats to FEMA funding are not helpful and will not solve the longer term forest management regulatory problems,” LaMalfa said.
“The President has seen first-hand our fire-ravaged areas in Northern California,” LaMalfa continued. “He made the promise to help, and I expect him to keep it. I appreciate the speed and great amount of disaster relief funds that have been committed following his visit to Paradise. We have policies that must change federally, and I have helped write and push for the needed policy changes that passed the House but were held up in the Senate last year.”
Now what about all the ECO regs Paul? “Can’t cut that tree.. Or this tree.” Homes have to be “THIS” close together.”
“You need an EIR”. “You need a permit”
All of which costs thousands of dollars. But I don’t expect you to comprehend what it costs to do anything.

Too funny. CA will spend itself into insolvency and then run to Uncle Sam to bail them out. No worries about fires or fire victims.Moonbeam said the primary cause is man made Climate Change and as soon as we fix that, the forests will return to being healthy and no need to worry, right. Wonder if our Popinjay has bought his carbon hue teal electric car yet. Then he won’t have to worry about adjoining properties or making defensive spaces.

The enemy of the people:
Yesterday evening on CNN, Don Lemon suggested to Christ Cuomo that “We need to censor the President’s speech before it goes to the American people.” Ol’ rich boy Chris looked like the blood drained outta his face!! You don’t air what is discussed in the CNN back rooms!!
