[Get ready for President Trump's speech from the Oval Office tonight in which he'll try to convince us that there is national security crisis on our southern border, and that spending money to reduce border porosity is now a national priority which the Constitution allows, nay, requires him to exercise executive powers to defend America against an unending influx of poor, ignorant, and destitute foreigners who are told they have the right to illegally enter the country and establish a new life in America. gjr]

If Trump gets two more Supremes to name, I might not care who wins in ’20.
I do hope Ginsberg’s tenuous position motivates Thomas to exit Stage Right while he can count on a like-minded nominee and appointee.
It all started with the Borking. When will it end?

The Titanic was unsinkable right? Trump is taking water by the day and supporters like you are doing the Republican Party a disservice by being apathetic. Of course you were playing with your lizard while the California Republicans became an extinct species so you have no track record in this matter.

Yes indeedy… right now it’s Bad Boy Trump vs. unscathed ideal Democrats selling perfumed and multicolored Unicorn farts. Let’s see the polls after they all look like they’ve been fighting tooth and nail with unrestrained bloodthirsty chimpanzees, which is what they’ll be doing until the Democratic Convention of 2020 settles on a wiener (very sic).

Paul Emry 1218. The ship is fine. No water being taken on. In fact the ship is the best it has ever been. Your fantasy make you a true phony-baloney “newsman”. You believe your own fabrications. As I said, Fidel would be proud of you. Mayne even his brother.

Todd you have no problem with the Republicans losing 40 seats in the house of representatives?

It’s your problem not mine fish. Oh yeah, you’re not a Trump supporter right?
How’s it my problem Punchy? Trump is the one getting you all spun up not me! And you’re the one who wears the well earned ridicule, not me!
I just find it amusing seeing you run to and fro with the most recent poll numbers like they mean anything to anyone here!

You’re right Fish they don’t mean anything. The Republicans are delusional about Trump. That’s why they lost 40 seats in the House and are extinct in California and down to only 7 House seats. That’s not a typo-7 house seats.
You’d better believe that Republican pollsters are taking those numbers very seriously.

Trump is a slugger with a strong chin but no defense. they always wear down eventually especially in their later years. Trumps defensive tactic is to lie and the Circle of Jerks at RR are evidence that that defense works for them but they are a minority of voters and are shrinking daily as today’s polls indicate. Look out, k.o. is coming and the out of shape and overweight slugger will fall hard in an orange blob.

Thought I was done for today but this is too good to pass up about the phony Libertarian Republican RAnd Paul:
“The Louisville Courier Journal reports that Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), a libertarian who in the past has compared Canadian-style single-payer health care systems to “slavery,” will be traveling to Canada later this month to get surgery on a hernia.
The Courier-Journal discovered that Paul is scheduled to have a hernia operation at the Shouldice Hernia Hospital in Thornhill, Ontario next week, according to documents filed in the senator’s civil lawsuit against a neighbor who attacked him last year and left him with six broken ribs and a bruised lung.”
Here is a quote from Paul:
“With regard to the idea whether or not you have a right to health care… It means you believe in slavery,” Paul said back in 2011. “You are going to enslave not only me but the janitor at my hospital, the person who cleans my office, the assistants, the nurses… you are basically saying you believe in slavery.”

Punchy, you didn’t read the story… non canucks pay for service… Rand Paul will be putting it on a credit card.
In a very real sense, the bill will be indirectly paid by the hard left neighbor who tackled Paul hard and did the damage.

What does Obama have to do with this? The question is if American health care is so good why did he go to Canada and use their Socialist health care system, even if he paid for it?

As we speak Trump is further declining in the RCP consensus polls. He’s now down to -13.6 Down a half point since this morning. Starting to look like a free fall. Todd and Gregory’s favorite poll, Rasmussen has Trump down by 12, their worst rating for the Trumper since Nov of 2017. Trump’s shutting down the government is only going to continue his decline.

What does Obama have to do with this?
Nothing……but it’s your go to phrase (“I didn’t vote for Obama the second time Todd!” He says in a tone of righteous Punchy brand indignation) for exonerating yourself when something stupid is done or said by a pol who you support or at one time supported!
The technical acumen of a very small part of the Canadian Health Care system while surprising isn’t completely unheard of! I can only assume that they got good at correcting hernias in spite of the system not because of it!

MOST COLOSSAL GREEN WEENIE OF ALL TIME: THE GREEN NEW DEAL
“We will vigorously oppose any legislation that: (1) rolls back existing environmental, health, and other protections, (2) protects fossil fuel and other dirty energy polluters from liability, or (3) promotes corporate schemes that place profits over community burdens and benefits, including market-based mechanisms and technology options such as carbon and emissions trading and offsets, carbon capture and storage, nuclear power, waste-to-energy and biomass energy.”
As Roger Pielke Jr. comments, this is like wanting action on disease but opposing vaccines.

Punchy, no, you cannot assume that, and I don’t think the GOP is looking backwards at the Nov’18 election while spoiling for the fight ahead. There’ll be one or two SCOTUS nominations to scrap over and the cockfights masquerading as the Democratic Primary to watch.
Pass the popcorn.

Not to be outdone, 60 year old Ellen Degeneres, on camera, not only ordered her wall, privacy fence, and front entrance gate to be removed, she also ordered her workpersons to immediately tear down the exterior walls of her gorgeous Villa.
