[Well, does Mueller have anything on Trump and the Russians, or are he and his boys just continuing to manufacture crimes so that in the end they can point to some accomplishments, while hoping to distract all from the charter that gave rise to their commission?  Sure would like to see what he would have escrowed when I first suggested it.  gjr]

    lol.
It’s good to see the War Party crawl out from under their rocks. I didn’t think that it was well hidden in any case.
Lacking real knowledge on the ground, I’d say that Trump did exactly the right thing. It’s funny how establishment Republicans like Graham really aren’t so different from Hillary.
I hope that you guys have a good time at the 17 Intelligence Agencies Christmas Party. You can swap waterboarding pics.

2, 000 troops is our smallest footprint over there. Not pulling out of Iraq or Afghanistan. If there is one place to withdraw, Syria would be it.
We still got troops in Germany from WW2. We still got troops in Japan. We still have troops in South Korea since the Korean War. We have troops in Afghanistan for two decades. And it looks like we are stuck in Iraq until the end of time.
ISIS has only one small area they still control on the Iraq-Syrian border, about the size of Manhattan. Probably 30,000 ISIS ragheads left that have spread out and disappeared (mingled) into civilian populations. That is the problem with counter insurgencies. They take off their uniforms and mix in with populations.
I certainly do not wish to read about some sophicated car bomb that killed 100, 200 of our troops in Syria in a green zone because we left 2,000 troops in a shithole country with a shithole population as sitting ducks. It’s the lesson we learned in Lebanon with dealing with counter insurgencies. Remember the Marines in Lebanon.
I have no problem pulling out of Syria and let the Muslims slaughter Muslims. They have been warring for centuries. They already have done the genocide of Christians, so why stay there? Are we really going to try to take out Assad, overthrow the Syrian Government, and turn that country into another clusterguck? No, its not the plan.
Oh course Graham, the neo cons, and a lot of Dem War Party are running around wanting to bomb, bomb, bomb something. That has not changed in decades. When it comes to bombing somebody, the RINOS are no different from the Dems and the Dark State that runs the show. The Establishment, if you prefer. As McCain said, “Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran”.
Yeah, the Kurds will get screwed again. Oh well. Turkey is going to wipe them out anyway if given a chance. And Iran pound will pound ISIS in Iran’s proxy state of Iran, in which the Iranians already control 2/3 of Iraq anyway. The Syrian Army along with the Russians will pound ISIS from the other direction. And our policies have only strengthened Russia and Assad. Isn’t nation building fun?
If we have learned anything, the goal of spreading democracy has not worked. Is it worth one American life? How more trillions need to be wasted? How much American blood needs to be spilled to satisfy the bloodlust of the Dem Party of War and Neo-cons?
We have a Dem Party that represents and cares more for foreign citizens south of border than they do for the safety, security, and welfare of American citizens…especially the poorest of our citizens. And we have the War Party that controls our government.
If we are ever to pull out of that land of inbreeds, 2,000 is our smallest footprint and a place to start.

30,00O ISIS ragheads left, according to military intelligence esimates in the whole region. The small area ISIS controls on the Iraqi-Syrian border numbers hundeeds. Of course, that does not include the 30,000 Islamic terrorists that currently reside in Europe and receive social services from the host countries, ROFLMAO.
Think a green libertarian could not bring himself to vote for Obama the second time precisely because of the 900 drone attacks Obama launched on the ragheads. After the Libya fiasco, the green libertarians could not bring themselves to vote for Hillary.

Russia and Syria are thrilled that we are pulling out. Payback to Putin for keeping his mouth shut about what he knows about Trump.
    COJ Oracles figure this out:
    Putin says:
“American troops should not be in Syria and have been there illegally,” he said, according to a ticker-tape account from the Russian news agency RT. “If the decision to withdraw them was taken, that’s the right decision.”
    and Trump says:
“Russia, Iran, Syria & many others are not happy about the U.S. leaving, despite what the Fake News says, because now they will have to fight ISIS and others, who they hate, without us. I am building by far the most powerful military in the world. ISIS hits us they are doomed!”

Here’s one for the ages The Russians are realizing that they are dealing with a real nut case in Trump:
“Russian media gloats about Trump’s ‘delirium’: ‘This is like a fiction novel — I feel bad for his poor defense minister’
““(They’re) part of the delirium that is constantly coming over him,” said Semyon Bagdasarov, director of the Moscow-based Center for Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies during an appearance on “The Evening with Vladimir Soloviev.”
“He is an interesting guy, this is like a fiction novel,” Bagdasarov added. “I feel bad for his poor defense minister, he’s struggling to keep up.”
Bagdasarov said the U.S. withdrawal would leave massive oil reserves in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor province to fall under Russian control, and he said Trump’s decision was “a total dream come true.”
However, he and other Russian media figures don’t take Trump’s claims seriously.
“Today, Trump simply woke up on the wrong side of the bed,” said Aleksei Kondratyev, a member of the Russian Upper House. “They will do no such thing. They’ve been leaving Afghanistan for the last 20 years.”
TV host Vladimir Soloviev mocked Trump’s claims about ISIS.
“Trump woke up this morning, looked up – and ISIS is gone,” he said on “The Evening with Vladimir Soloviev.” Yesterday it was there, but today it’s gone.”

What is the purpose of having any troops in Syria? With little fanfare, President Trump ordered a build up in Syria and pounded ISIS to crush head off the snake…as must as it is humanly possible. At one time, there were Russian, American, Iranian, and Syrian jets pounding on ISIS over the Syrian skies. Now that the threat has been reduced, it’s time to go. Assad and Putin have no problem blasting ragheads in hospitals, mosques, schools, or wherever the vermin are to be found. We restrain ourselves from such effective options, thus everything just drags on and on.
The reason Mike Flynn, former head of defense intelligence, was the most hated man in the Obama Administration was because he told folks we were suppliing arms and friggin cash to ISIS. We figured they would be attacking the Syrian govrnment, which was true. If we are not going to take over Syria and topple Assad, what are we doing there?
We can always drone the shit out of ISIS leadership, which is what we are reduced to doing at the moment. Contractors and trainers on the ground is fine, but why American troops?
I remember when we finally shared some intel with the Russians (prior administration). The ISIS thugs were controlling the oil fields in Iraq in Kurdish areas and trucking the oil overland to a Turkish port to fund their caliphate. Obama refused to bomb the oil tanker convoys because he said those were just hard working family men driving the trucks and not ISIS members, month after month. Just civilians working support their families. When we shared the intel with Putin, he could not believe how stupid we are. The convoys were destroyed in 2-3 weeks, putting the hurts on ISIS cash flow.
If we are going to stay there, then play for keeps. If you work for ISIS, then you are part of ISIS. We are making great strides in seizing/freezing their assets through our Treasury Department. Unless the real reason we have 2,000 troops in Syria is not about ISIS. It certainly is not about protecting Kurds. We have troops in Iraq and 2/3 of Iraq is now controlled by the Iranians. I get that. Complicated issue with many moving pets and shifting alliances.
I suppose the reason we have troops in Syria is because we have stated that having Iranian troops and the Revolutionary Guard in Syria is not an option.
As Scenes and Fish has discussed many a time, it is interesting to see the “All We Are Saying Is Give Peace a Chamce” crowd is now the Party of War. Those that never been in combat are usually the ones who push for more combat.

Russia has achieved what they never could accomplish, but only dream of, in their entire history as a direct result of our choosing sides with “freedom fighters”. That dream is a Mediterraian sea port.
All in all. probably nothing will happen without deep discussions with the generals and those who know what is going on. Very complicated and not a single issue problem. It’s a nice thought to consider bringing troops home from those 6th century God forsaken places. The soldiers prayer has always been, “God, don’t let my buddies die in this shithole”, be it in father frozen fields of Korea, some rice paddy, or the wastelands of Somalia. But, soldiers do what they are ordered to do without whining or grumbling, out of sense of duty and love of country. May our leaders be endowed with wisdom or at least spot on intuitive instincts.
    It’s worth a try.

a die hard Trump apologists are hard to come by nowdays after the ’18 debacle in the House setting the Dems up for most likely two terms of control. the fun will begin next month when the Dems take over. there are a few hard core Trumpers on this blog but they seem to be drifting away. Even Gregory is staying home noways.
Trump is a dangerous nutcase. The trick will be to get him out before he does much danger.
Even FOx has turned against him.
“Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade on Thursday argued that it’s “just inaccurate” for President Trump “to declare victory” over the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Kilmeade’s comments during the popular Fox News morning show come one day after the president’s announcement that he had decided to pull troops out of Syria, citing a campaign promise to do so and a need to focus on priorities at home.
Kilmeade pushed back on Thursday, saying, “Nobody thinks ISIS is defeated. Nobody who understands, who was born after 2000, who sees what’s happened since 9/11.”
“By the way, Brett McGurk, his personal envoy, just gave a speech last week saying ISIS is there, they’re still a factor, they’re far from defeated. There’s 30,000 there,” Kilmeade added, referring to the special envoy to the coalition fighting ISIS.”

Well, well, well. Dumping our taxpayers money on the real roots and causes of why millions of folks who cannot read or write want to come to the USA from Central America. That money will be taken by the corrupt and army a job will be created. Meanwhile, the hordes will continue to flood in, seeking taxpayer assistance….like the Muslims in the no go zones do in Europe.
That 4 billion we are wasting in Southern Mexico won’t to a thing to stop the cartel pipeline to America. Ya, we tried that “addressing the root causes” in Mexico 30 years ago, lol. Lost to corruption.
Meanwhile, the border is less secure and the problems are greater today than when Obama or Trump took office. Guess you don’t see no problem.
Next time a friggin drunk illegal kills someone…it’s all on You. Net time another terrorist sneaks across our border and shouts God is Great, I can only hope it is one of your loved ones that is slaughtered. I truly do. 27% of our incarcerated population are illegals. You are for crime and hate the rule of law. Gawd, I hope an illegal rapes or kills your loved ones. It would be sweet justice. It would be a great holiday present.
If we didn’t need border Security, then how did this guy get deported 8 times?
    https://www.dailysignal.com/2018/12/06/immigrant-arrested-for-murder-was-previously-deported-at-least-8-times/
Yep, get down to roots and causes of the problem. How is that working out in Nevada City or the scourge that is infecting the Vrunswick Basin and behind K-Mart? Heard Nirvana City is writing an aggressive panhandling ordinance. Yep, that will get down to the roots and causes.

Walls work. Illegals cost this nation 260 billion a year. A “Wall” costs on 30 billion to build. Do the math, especially those who cry out for a balanced budget. Won’t catch all of them, but will stop whole bunch. Legal immigrants are always welcome. It’s a pact between two parties: a mutually beneficial agreement. Illegal migration is a unilateral thang.
Whether you like the idea of a wall/fence or not, walls work. Security works. If not, then simply remove the doors to your abode. Tear down your fences. Israel once had thousands of illegals sneak in to carry out suicide bomb attacks. They like blowing up senior rec centers full of old people like you and school children. School children are delicious targets to them. More bang for the buck. 🙂 After the Wall, Israel saw the infiltration rate drop to a hundred, then 11 in 2016 and zero in 2017.
Overland crossing only account for 60% of illegals and we are only catching 2,000 a day, every day on our borders. 2,000 a day are just thenones our undermanned agents catch. The other 40% are those liars who overstay their visas. Much work to be done. Loopholes in the law need to be addressed, bigley.
Interesting poll recently. 70% of Americans across the political spectrum are in favor of border security and the need for The Wall. But, when the question was rephrased as ‘Trump’s Wall’ , the support dropped to 47-49%. Don’t be blinded by hate.
Nothing changes overnight. You scoff at MS-13 because you do not see it. Those that live where they are at saw the big change in neighborhoods with MS-13 about 7 years ago in Boston, CT, and Virginia. When LE sweep 128 of them off the streets in a big crackdown, people in those neighborhoods opened their windows and cheered the police. Those people who cheered were a lot of immigrants living in fear…poor legal immigrants.
What, illegals commit 4,000 murders a year. And you guys bitch about a tragic shooting for weeks 24/7. Illegals drive the wages down for our poorest citizens and bring more crime into our poorest neighborhoods, if that is even possible. It’s the American poor that are hurt the worse by our quasi open borders. And the flood of illegals will continue unabated unless we choke it down.
We protect the borders of many a foreign nation across the globe. Every non shithole country across our planet defends its border….except the USA. It’s time to defend our country’s borders. The Wall will not be built overnight. We need some gigantic barrier because the absence of such has not worked, not by any stretch.
Why do the rights of those of foreign nationals supersede the rights and welfare of US citizens? Why to their welfare rank higher than our inner city children and poor “white trash” children? Why? Why putnthem ahead of our legal migrants and US citizens?
Illegals cost our coffers 250 plus billion a year. A quarter trillion a year. Ok, don’t call it Wall. Call it what you want. But tell me why you are opposed to it? Because it does not stop everyone breaking in it at legal points of entry? Because some will still sneak in? Nothing is 100% fail safe. Israel only stops 99.9%.
What nation on earth has no borders? Why do the Left hate the rule of Law. Why do you want legal immigrants to be put in the back of the line?

Which isn’t by Donald Trump, but is a brilliant idea.
Cool. Last time I looked (yesterday?) it was at $1.7M. Just this second I see $7,658,835. Most excellent. I kicked in a few dineros.
No doubt it will stall at some point, and the Blue Mob will declare victory since patriots couldn’t privately raise one billion dollars. What losers those despicable people are.
As I mentioned, if I were running it, I’d have a $1B goal but also work out ways to spend the money on visible barriers on an ongoing basis. There’ll be a few bureaucratic issues and likely some court challenges as national sovereignty violates the Constitution somehow.
It would be interesting to hear the Blue Mob bitch about privately funded walls as it rather blows up any financial arguments. No doubt some new objection will be invented and shoved through MSM. You wouldn’t want the national supply of big, comely lawn care specialists to dry up after all.

“specify Syria as your preferred duty station”
    This is an excellent idea.
We could have a parade where they march with flags and get kissed by the pretty girls. Paper streamers all around. Endless opportunities for glory in a great big ol’ Hatfield and McCoys (and fifteen other families) situation.
    I salute them.

The 420th Nevada City volunteers ride off to war. A flag with a marijuana leaf in the middle proudly leads the way.

Lately I’ve been something of a student of international boundaries. It’s a thing that’ll be a growth industry as both demographic pressures and the increase in a kind of wealth gradient amp up. It isn’t like the Third World will ever have less children or build real economies so the pressure will mount.
Failing an internal will to control the situation, even the most outrageous wall has limits. Ceuta and Melilla are decorated like Christmas trees with humanity since, if they rush in enough numbers, somebody is saved by an anti-deportation and insanely bureaucratic legal system. The Indian-Pakistani wall is a marvel of cheap construction. The Israeli one is (unsurprisingly) quite effective. Robert Cross’s dream of judenfrei Israel is unlikely to happen soon. One idea I liked is in Europe (Bulgaria? I’m not sure) where they park the holding center outside of the wall but within the country. You can do paperwork at your leisure and the freedom-seekers don’t disappear into an ethnic community in the nearest city. Very neat and tidy solution, although potentially you get Palestine if the birth rate is high enough and the deportation is low enough. The Greek wall is (unsurprisingly) shitty.
Given expected population growth rates, this picture will look quaint in 50 years. No wonder zombie movies have such a following.

What happened to the education system in CA? We went from #1 in the nation to dead last. I won’t blame teachers. I will blame millions of illiterate people from 3rd world countries welcomed in with open arms (especially illegals) into CA…and NY and Texas among other states. Illegals welcomed here!
The liberal policies are destroying everything they touch. Toxic. The wake of destruction is a clear as the wake Lenin and Stalin left behind. You guys can’t even see the difference between the symbol of the Arm and Hammer (which you embrace) and a swastika (which you deplore). It’s the same.
The Wall is the least expensive and best method to secure the border. But noooo. Illegals always welcomed here.
    https://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/terence-p-jeffrey/least-educated-state-california-no-1-percentage-residents-25-and
There are 83 lawsuits still pending in Texas between Uncle Sam and landowners over George H W Bush’s plan to build a fence at the border. Landowners opposed it. Figure that is why Texas ranks number two behind CA for shithole school systems full of illiterates who drop out by 9th grade.
Lest I forget. 90% of the heroin that comes into the USA comes across the southern border. So, tell me again giving 4 billion to Central America and southern Mexico will solve that problem. Any heroin ODs on the Ridge lately? Nothing to see here. It’s Blue and Trump is a liar. “That’s all that matters!” he says behind his fenced compound with security cameras or Boardman’s guarded gated community, or Nancy and Dianne’s tall security fences and walls in Pacific Heights. So far from the stink. So far from effects of the laws they impose on others.
That 4 billion taxpayer gift is will stem the flow, right? This time it will work because…..?
Notice the new Presidente of Mexico is giving Central America 25-30 billion to address the root causes, lol. Oh, he is taking a page out right of the lefty academia handbook. Some things will never change.
Remember that 1.6 billion Nancy and Paul Ryan gave Trump for he Wall during the last continuing resolution? You know the one that Nancy and Chuckie are touting that Trump has only spent 6% of so he don’t need anyone money for a Wall. Well, that 1.6 billion had a clause in it that zero money could be spent on concrete. Bunch of dishonest people, for sure. And it’s not Trump’s Wall. It’s the American people’s Wall and you Progressives are on the wrong side of the American people on this one.
Spin it all you want, show pics of caged crying children til the cows come home. The Wall is not dead. It is the main reason we have a President Trump. Hillary has listed a hundred reasons why she lost. Trump only has a few reasons why he won: The Wall, SCOTUS, the economy, not Hillary, and political correctness run amok. That’s it.
The battle lines have been drawn. If Trump flinches, it will continue Feb. 8th. If not now, when? When will Congress act? Remember Trump told Congress to have a DACA bill on his desk by 6 months. 6 months seemed like a reasonable about of time to fix DACA. But noooo. Congress submitted one one DACA bill to fix it or end it. 6 months passed, a year passes, now 22 months have passed.
The insiders of Washington do not want any border security. No one in Washington does. Thus, we have a President Trump. Time to listen to the people.

Trump wall has gone up a whole bunch. Now at $8.3M
I wonder how long until the Blue Mobsters at Gofundme declare it to be hate speech and shut that sucker down.
    re: the stock market.
I have no clue what drives that puppy over the long run besides GDP. You get those short term boosts from money printing (by various methods) as it chases goods, but it really is a mystery. I currently view it as a killing field for individual investors as program trading improves in quality. Thank goodness that CalPers can guarantee 7%, I’ll write those guys a check for $1M tomorrow morning if they assure me of that return.

“Well, that 1.6 billion had a clause in it that zero money could be spent on concrete. ”
lol. I had never heard that but you appear to be correct. Just more political chicanery from the land of political chicanery. I salute them.
You know, you could actually work with that.

The wall protecting India also seems to have a bunch of motion detectors. The real point is to slow people down until the cops show up. Of course, the old school Republicans + Blue Mob could always say ‘no concrete’ and ‘no Border Patrol’ in the next bill.

    Scenes:
Wall St is nervous as hell over the impending shut down. They hate uncertainty. Goldman Sacks (Golden Slacks) has been putting extreme pressure on Trump. So much pressure I thought he may be swayed. Wall Street has Chuckie in their pocket, playing pocket pool with the poor man. They love love ❤️ love zero interest free money from the Fed and don’t like the economy dampening raising of the rates yesterday. Not one bit.
Moi also noticed Nancy and Chuckie are doing their usual “Trump is Unhinged” in their presser, while neatly avoiding any security issues I have raised and looking like their skin is melting off their faces, lol.
Bottomline. After listening to Chuckie and Nancy today, they left no doubt they are absolutely all in for the Chuckie & Nancy Open Borders Party. And we are only talking 5 billion out of a 4.4 trillion dollar budget. The line has been drawn in the sand. The Left simply wants open borders. No ifs, ands, or butts about it. Talk about selling out our country.

Quote and a meme. A pancake and a smoke.
Insight: “I choose free libraries as the best agencies for improving the masses of the people, because they give nothing for nothing. They only help those who help themselves. They never pauperize. They reach the aspiring and open to these chief treasures of the world — those stored up in books. A taste for reading drives out lower tastes.” —Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919)
No wonder Nancy and Punchy were dancing last night. Talk about jumping the gun:
“I suspect the President is keeping his own counsel this week and it is going badly for him. The only groups winning the news cycle right now are the Russians, the Mexicans, and the anti-gun crowd. On top of it all, the President quite possibly began the long goodbye with some of his core supporters by cutting this deal that abandons the wall. Instead of adding to his coalition, he keeps shrinking it instead. It’s almost as if he is sabotaging himself.” —Erick Erickson
For the record: “2018 has been the strongest year since the financial crisis and during that period, we’ve had low unemployment and strong growth, and inflation has still remained just a touch below 2%.” —Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell
Wow: What difference does it make? “Who cares? … It didn’t matter.” —James Comey when asked when he found out the fake dossier was funded by Hillary Clinton and the DNC
Race bait: “In my research on reducing gender bias and my work conducting training on general diversity and inclusion with fire departments, I find that, when evaluating fit and competence, firefighters tend to default to a reductive set of traits (physical strength evaluated through strict fitness tests, for example) that serve to maintain white men’s dominance in the fire service.” —UCLA professor Corinne Bendersky
And last… “Many leftists and LGBT activists are simply not content with ‘live and let live.’ It’s ‘embrace completely everything we think, say and do or else we will do whatever we can to ruin you.’ What a special brand of tolerance.” —Allie Beth Stuckey

Weird. Just hours ago Nancy told the sea of cameras and flashing bulbs that the House will not pass anything that includes one red cent for the Trump’s Steel l Windchimes in the desert. Trump does not have the votes. Does not have the Republican votes is this House. This Republican and Democrat House. Quote unquote….
It passed ‘this House’. Plenty of votes. 6 Billion for the designer steele breezy slats. Looks great when the gorgeous desert sunsets casts its golden hour upon the “Not a Wall”.
Back to Chuckie’s House. This should be fun. Now they are screaming about disaster relief being delayed. Our President did say he will not sign any bill without his border security funding. Now we are playing for keeps. Vertebrates. Trump actually thinks it’s his job to defend our borders. . What an odd concept

The queen of the DEMned said the votes are not there…
Then how the “F” did this get passed?
    https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2018/12/20/house-passes-spending-bill-with-wall-funding/
    Hummmm.. welcome to WINNING!!!
    Good job Freedom caucus.
    The Freedom Caucus said:
Republicans in Congress have continually told the American people that we would fight for wall funding, and today the House of Representatives took its first step toward fulfilling that promise. The Senate must follow our lead. It’s time we do what we said and work with President Trump and the American people to secure our borders.
The House Freedom Caucus led a special order on Wednesday night, urging the president to fight for border security funding. The House conservatives also offered an amendment to the bill that would include $5 billion in border wall funding as well as closing the “catch and release” loophole. Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-NC) said that House conservatives will back him if he vetoes any legislation without border security funding.
Note to LIBS….. The votes ARE there.
So now any shut down will be on Chuck E.”Cheese” Schumer’s ass.

What happened with Mexico paying for the wall Walt as Trump promised many times? If that was happening there would be no problem right? Was Trump lying or just ignorant? Your call.
