    Well, if they are a private company which means they can do what they want, doesn’t a bakery, a private company, have the right to do what they want? Just asking for a friend.
    Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) opened fire against the House Majority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). He called the concerns of the right about conservative censorship on Google “a fantasy, dreamed up by some conservatives.” Nadler went on to argue that Google had the right to “deliberate discriminate against conservative viewpoints.”

    I don’t seem to recall all this fuss and furor over a balanced budget or giving Trump a measly 5.8 billion when it was no problem at all to load up 15 billion, 30 billion in cold hard cash on pallets in unmarked planes to fly to the billions to Tehran. 5.8 billion is all we ask.
    Actually, Obama did talk about reducing the deficit. . He said Obamacare would reduce the deficit. The more of Obamacare, the more the deficit is reduced. Cool beans. “Didn’t vote for Obama the second time, Walt.”

    PaulE, my 524pm was intended to solicit your response to the entire notion that in a supposedly public and open judicial system we have ‘secret indictments’. What is function of secrecy in such a proceeding? Is not the accused party entitled to know that formal proceedings against him have been intitiated so that he can begin his defense in a timely manner (e.g. salvage exculpatory evidence before it is destroyed or otherwise becomes unavailable)? Historically secret indictments have been the MO of tyrannical governments, therefore worth discussing in these pages.

Even if convicted in a court of law, you still won’t believe trump to be a conman mobster.

    There have always been secret indictments. They are always done in secrecy by a Grand Jury because prosecutors are seeking more information about related cases and don’t want to show their cards yet. .They will outlive Mueller if Trump tries to obstruct justice by firing him. Trump brought this on himself by being such a liar.
    He still claims he didn’t make payments to the two woman. Do you believe that? Why did he lie when he left such a trail of evidence?

    PaulE 910pm – You’re not answering my question. An indictment means that the grand jury thinks there is enough evidence of some wrong doing to warrant going to trial. If that point is reached, why is not the indicted individual notified immediately? There is nothing to stop the prosecutor from continuing to gather evidence; the so indicted should be given equal time assemble exculpatory evidence for his defense. Don’t you think so? If not, then the indictment can always be made later when prosecution feels that he has enough evidence to obtain a guilty verdict. The question stands – why the secret indictments?

    You know, he well may. My guess is that he has the gift of self belief. It’s necessary to get the job and he has more than most. At some point you just do what you can as you learn the enormity of the problem and get the hell out.
    Can he do it? No, not without dictatorial powers and a good enough reason. The Congress has more than a little power in the budget and Presidents dare not cut too much of the funds flow out. In any case, the discretionary part of the budget is less than 30% so there’s not much wiggle room as some of it is actually necessary.
    Personally, I’d prefer for Social Security to pay out only what you put in plus a reasonable rate of interest. We’ll invent something called welfare when it’s needed. It’s at least a more honest form of accounting. My guess is that you’d be surprised the cuts the bottom 2/3 (or whatever) of SS recipients would get using that system. That’s changing now as newer donors find themselves on the wrong side of the annuity calculation.
    Payments into Medicare need to be radically ramped up I expect, but then you’d be hung in effigy. It’s highly subsidized and increasingly expensive.
    Generally, I put most of the fault of the collapse of the value of the dollar, whenever it happens, at the feet of the US public. They (and the politicians) are no different than they ever have been though. Mass immigration will make it worse due to increasing use of .gov services and a cultural acceptance of government largesse, but well, you know, Diversity!
    I’ve said nothing new here. The miner’s canary in all of this is still the states. They live on a much more teetery precipice.

    Judge tears into Flynn this morning:
    While reviewing the charges against Flynn, Sullivan questioned prosecutors whether Flynn could have been charged this week in a case involving two former business associates who worked as unregistered lobbyists for the Turkish government.
    The prosecutors replied that he could have, and that his legal exposure in the case was significant.
    Then Sullivan started absolutely tearing into Flynn for his offenses.
    “You were an unregistered agent of a foreign country while serving as the national security adviser to the president of the United States!” Sullivan fumed. “Arguably, this undermines everything this flag over here stands for! Arguably, you sold your country out!”
    Sullivan continued by saying, “I’m not hiding my disgust, my disdain for this criminal offense.”
    Special counsel Robert Mueller’s office has said that it is not recommending jail time for Flynn due to his substantial cooperation in their investigation. However, Judge Sullivan is not bound to abide by their sentencing guidelines.

    I’d say that there are two flavors.
    1) People who don’t know or are unfamiliar with the juggernaut that is government. Before you have the job for a while, the real power centers and facts of the matter aren’t obvious.
    2) People who lie. Typically Presidents running for their second term or ex-VPs and ex-Secretaries of State.

    Whoa Nelly. Some folks ar. E jumping the gun on Flynn. Meuller has been looking into Turkey’s influence on US policy and American lobbyists working on behalf of Turkey who have not registered. That s probably what the lion’s share of those 60 hours of interviews were about. Might even include Flynn’s son. Look what set the judge off: Turkey, not Trump.
    The Judge postponed the sentencing 90 days. Give it more time. The Judge did start off saying today he has never sentenced an innocent man who plead guilty and he does not intend to start today. When he sentences Flynn, he was no loose ends over Flynn’s head. Slow down, people.
    Ironically, Meuller said the same thing to the Judge as Trump said to Comey. “Go easy on him, he’s a good man.”

    In “Goombahs R’ US” category — the trump foundation will close it’s doors by court order. According to court filings “a shocking pattern of illegality involving the Trump Foundation — including unlawful coordination with the Trump presidential campaign, repeated and willful self-dealing, and much more….This amounted to the Trump Foundation functioning as little more than a checkbook to serve Mr. Trump’s business and political interests.” The lawsuit seeks millions in restitution and penalties. It also seeks to prevent Trump and his three eldest children ― Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump ― from serving on the boards of other New York charities. It seems nobody trusts the trumps. I wonder why? And to think some people are still willing to overlook this and the many other trump mob transgressions for the sake of politics. Whatever happened to our country’s moral compass anyway?

    That’s not the best good legal agrument. It is interesting to note that none of the substances of Flynn’ conversations with the Russian Ambassador were deemed inappropriate by prosecutors and investigators or anybody, save a few on these boards and slimestream media, of course. Guess we can finally put the Logan Act to rest. There goes another strawman knocked to the ground in the Russia-Trump Campaign Collusion to steal an election from Hillary. What a waste of time and energy for the reader. Russia, Russia, Russiaphobia. And to this hour, the best investigators in the world (our agents) have never looked at the DNC computers that we ‘hacked’.
    And George the Greek gets a couple weekends in jail and a $9,000 fine after all that waste of time and energy. You eally didn’t think he would actually spend 14 days in jail, did you? I would love to see the video tapes of his interviews. 🙂

    Yep. Even those Russian trolls that will never see the inside of our courtrooms had nothing to do with Trump. “No US citizens were involved” per the DOJ press release. And what did Rick Gates get? Something about tax evasion or the like that happened years ago. And Cohen gets his just desserts for fraud and hiding the millions he earned and they throw in a bogus campaign violation on his mountain of real felonies, lol. And what has Carter Page been charged with? You know Carter Page, the man who got the whole ball of wax rolling on the Russian-Hoax. So far, nobody after two years has been charged with colluding with the Russians. Nobody. Not even Julian Assange. Oh, the Dossier is fake, duh. Like we did not know that, despite hours of arguing with those with TDS.
    The process is the punishment. The process is to inflict pain, not justice.
    The Dems over on the Union still believe that Cohen went to Prague to meet with Russians, a place Cohen has never been. That is a nothingburger. And Cohen was not a real lawyer (thus no attorney client privilege and justifying raiding Cohen’s files and records) per the slimestream media before they suddenly loved him and know he is a lawyer again. Add Clinton PR man Lanny Davis is to serve as Cohen’s communication director, and…and….and
    The process is the punishmt. This is all a political trial, not a criminal trial, as intended. Use the court filings from the prosecution to leak or say anything they want to feed the public. Then get a guilty plea and move on.
    Why would Flynn delay his plea? Are you really ready to be sentenced in front of a pissed off judge? Not me. Let the judge cool down first which he already has. No treason. No Collusion. No material information to gleam from Flynn. The process is the punishment.
