Sandbox – 2nov18

[In the last sandbox Bro Gregory cites a WaPo story that brings up the notion that large, violent caravans heading north for the US border might become the norm.  My strong belief is that they will indeed become the norm if President Trump is not able to either get Mexico to disperse them before reaching the border, or that our border security fails (due to political pressures from our anti-American Left) and thousands of illegal new migrants suddenly find themselves successfully on American soil.  gjr]

    Let’s not forget how I found the article in WaPo… searching the string ‘Cristosal caravan’. Up popped the WaPo piece quoting a Cristosal regional director on the caravans.

    Here are the details verifying my observation that the increase in tax revenue has not kept up with the budget, something Trump said would not happen.
    “The U.S. federal deficit will reach $1 trillion by the end of the fiscal year, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Tuesday.
    The CBO said in previous estimates that it did not expect to hit the milestone until 2020.
    Spending rose by $222 billion, or 32 percent, in the first 11 months of fiscal 2018, compared with the same period last year.
    In the current period, the deficit has reached $895 billion.
    The CBO credited the surge to the new Republican tax law and increased government spending. Expenditures rose by 7 percent, while tax revenue rose by only 1 percent.”

    In fact Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said ” tax cuts would essentially pay for themselves because there would be so much economic growth that it would bring in new revenue to the Treasury Department”.

    Well, I will be. Punchy was correct. Yes, Punchy was right. Hell hath froze over. I picked up a couple of hitchhikers and conversed with them yesterday. Boyfriend and girlfriend. First to speak was young man who hates Trump. A Nevada City resident.. He went to Nevada City on Halloween Night and hung out in the Bonnaza parking lot for awhile. I asked him what his costume was. He said he went as Hitler. Hilter was in Nevada City outside the radio station KVMR on Halloween night!!!
    His girlfriend, another Nevertrumper hater and Nevada City resident is someone I have given a ride to before.. She usually goes on and on about the New Jim Crow laws…i.e., the racist incarceration rates of Black Americas in today’s White Devil system.. I asked her what she was for Halloween. She went as a “blackface” with a wizard hat, ROFLMAO.
    Of course I pretended to be all upset and scolded the young people for breaking every PC code in the book and what they did was soooowrong in today’s world. Bad. Then I had to ask the million dollar question. Why did you go as Hilter and a Blackface? Answer: basically, they are sick and tired of stupid PC rules and wanted to see people’s reactions. Shock value. They had more fun with folks’ reactions than the Halloween revelers. Yep, young people like to stick it to Da Man…in Nevada City with all the old hippies. Priceless.
    Yep, I was young once……and I still stick it to the man. I just use Trump as my mouthpiece.
    Too bad Halloween comes up once a year. A most fabulous costume was Ruth Vader Ginsberg.

    What’s worth talking about is the blatantly anti-American antics of Democrat politicians like the one fomenting and backing the migrant mob heading north to illegally cross our border. (see also Gregory’s 113pm) Those kinds of actions a treacherous, pure and simple since they go directly counter to the interest and security of the United States.     Todd like spelling aside …….the deficit was going to grow regardless! Trump….Hillary….doesn’t matter, the institutional inertia appears to be to great at this point to reverse! The interesting thing to me is that I you only started to care with Trump in the White House! No mention of the issue that I recall with Obama as president or referenced to congressional democrat spending habits!

    My take.
    The underlying argument changed, new sides have been drawn with some crossing of lines.
    I think they had their hearts in the right place, but countries get their accounts in order only when they can’t borrow anymore. Occasionally you get to see a massive injection of wealth, but I don’t see that happening in this round.
