Wasn’t the bet with Picohantas based on her claim of being somewhat unique as a native-American minority? If it turns out that a large proportion of Americans have the same fractions of the DNA claimed to make her a minority, then her claim is invalid and the bet is off. Mexico’s immigration authorities vowed to stop members of a migrant caravan consisting of roughly 1,300 individuals from Honduras trying to make their way north, eventually to the U.S. border. Those wanting to enter Mexico will have to follow immigration law or they will be turned back, officials say.
In a prepared statement, the National Immigration Institute (INM) claimed that members of the migrant caravan wanting to enter Mexico would have to request a visa through their consulate and follow immigration law. Those who refuse would be turned back.

The American manufacturing sector continued to add jobs in August, defying predictions that the Trump administration’s steel and aluminum tariffs would cost jobs in metals-using industries.
There were 488,000 job openings in manufacturing in August, up from 416 a year ago, the Department of Labor said Tuesday. Two years ago, before President Trump took office, there were just 337,000 manufacturing job vacancies in August.
The metals tariffs were predicted to cost jobs because there are more than ten times as many workers in metals-using industries than in steel and aluminum manufacturing. Economists claimed that the tariffs would cost as many as 146,000 jobs in metals-using industries.
The tariffs have not only defied the doom and gloom predictions when it comes to jobs, they are also defying them when it comes to prices. Prices of goods that require steel and aluminum, from cans of soup to cars, have not risen for consumers.

China’s economy is showing signs of cracking under the pressure of the country’s trade war with the United States.
Home sales during China’s Golden Week–traditionally a time for big ticket purchases–fell drastically.
“Preliminary data showed residential property sales in 10 major cities during the week nearly halved, slumping 49% from a year earlier, according to Bocom International,” the Wall Street Journal reported.
Golden Week is a weeklong holiday that begins on China’s October 1 National Day.
The Journal also reports that car sales fell for a third straight month in September, putting China on track for the first yearly decline in auto sales in nearly 30 years.
Meanwhile, the cost of living is soaring in China.
This sharply contrasts with the situation in the U.S., where inflationary pressures have recently eased and the economy is thriving.

The US has announced plans to withdraw from a 144-year-old postal treaty, which the White House says lets China ship goods at unfairly low prices.
The United Nations treaty sets lower international rates for packages from certain countries, a move originally designed to support poorer nations.
But the US says the discounts put American businesses at a disadvantage.
“We do hope that ultimately we achieve a negotiated outcome.”
The treaty sets limits for charges on parcels under 2kg (4.4lbs) but the US would like to change the treaty to allow countries to set their own rates for these smaller parcels, as they can for packages over that weight limit, officials said.
The rise of international online shopping has resulted in an increase in small packages being sent via the postal system, and American firms say it can now cost more to post an item within the US than it does to send a similar item from Shanghai to the US.

The trouble is, your audience doesn’t count such gratuitous accolades, aniticipated sales, or braggadocios as lies. While you and yours are counting the nits, you miss the main point that the Saudis are critical allies of ours in the region who sells oil to the west and buy guns and grenades from us to counter Iran in the region.
None of our non-western allies or trading partners have clean hands, they all kill their own citizens with gusto. But that doesn’t mean that America has to get into a hissy fit about how their morals measure up to ours, and thereby screw up the world order (such as it is). We have to consider our national interests; what’s involved here is a multi-attribute utility that overarches our relationship – and President Trump is on the case.
You leftists are not worried about the morality of this any more than anyone else; your hissy fit revolves around trying to gain control of Congress, get Trump out office, and delegitimize SCOTUS. In short, your tactic in everything going on today is guided by the mantra, ‘We rule or ruin!’
