Here is another one for the po’ ol’ pollhead –
Liesman said that CNBC’s pollsters think it is likely that the positive results on the economy likely mean this election will not see a “Blue Wave” of Democrats taking seats from Republicans.
“They’re cautioning that this is not a wave election in the making. They point out that you need lousy numbers on the economy to have a wave election or a lot of pessimism about the economy,” Liesman said. “One of the things we see is that a lot of people who have concerns about the president’s temperament are willing to look through that because of his handling of the economy.

I think it’s fair to think that the Blue Mob will take the House, it seems to me that off-year elections favor the party out of power, it’s always easiest to critique what’s been done and invent some new story with a lot of hand waving. Committee chairmanships will change hands and we can be treated to a year or so of trumped up charges for the President.
After all, pussy hats and open borders are far more important than acting in US national interests.

I am with Scenes on this one. Actually it’s Scenes on two things.
First, I do not see the Republicans increasing their lead in the House, nor maintaining the status quo in their lead. Odds are for losing some seats, probably enough to lose the House. When that happens, all the Left has in their bankruptcy of ideas is impeach, investigate, impeach, investigate. They will have little to nil legislation to offer. Obstruct, block, resist, hurl wild accusations. That’s all they got. Lie, steal, cheat, stomp on people’s feet. It’s who they are. They want power, nothing less. They demand power, thirst for power, list for power, long for power….power over you and me.
Unfortunately, if and when the House is taken over by the unhinged one, the first thing out the window is any investigation into the government’s role in the attempted silent coup. We are getting closer, but the Dems will block any investigations into the traitorous Bennan, the top officials in the DOJ, and all roads leading to Obama. That is one big definition of obstruction of justice. Hopefully, Trump will release the FISA warrant application sooner than later.
The good news is the incivil ones will be even more frustrated. The House can block, investigate or even pass some billy goat brained legislation, but the Senate will be in Republicans hands. If some socialist agenda passes the Congress, Trump can veto. Takes 2/3 of the Senate to impeach. Think they are frustrated now? We ain’t seen nothing yet.
Flipping the House will simply mean no Wall, more chaos, tension, turmoil, and violence from the Leftinistas. It serves the Left’s interests to fan the flames of discord, hate, divisiveness, They are addicted to outrage and need the mob mentality to further their goals of tear it down, burn it all to the ground. Upheaval is not an option, it is a mandate.
Having Paul Ryan lead the House is like having the slot vacant anyway. Good riddance Paul Ryan.

The second thing is your request to Punchy. He and the readers would be better served if he takes his Todd Derangement Syndrome directly to Todd’s blog he can take his personal vindetta directly to Todd himself instead of hiding behind a third party (Dr. Rebane’s blog). He has nothing to offer.

Sinema also evidently thinks Arizonans are “deplorables,” to borrow a word. She has declared Arizona to be the “meth lab of democracy,” and said, “Over the past several years, people would watch what’s going on in Arizona and be like, ‘Damn, those people are crazy,’” On another occasion, she told leftist activists in Texas, “I want to talk to you about some of the things that I think that you can do to stop your state from becoming Arizona.” It’s probably not a good idea to habitually make your state the butt of your jokes when you’re running to represent your state in the Senate.

A federal judge on Monday dismissed a defamation lawsuit filed by porn star Stormy Daniels against President Donald Trump and ordered the woman to pay the president’s legal fees.
U.S. District Judge James Otero said that Trump was well within his right to free speech when he tweeted about Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, earlier this year, saying she was a “total con job.” Those comments, which Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti called defamation, were just politics, the judge ruled.
“The court agrees with Mr. Trump’s argument because the tweet in question constitutes ‘rhetorical hyperbole’ normally associated with politics and public discourse in the United States,” Otero wrote. “The First Amendment protects this type of rhetorical statement.”

“If the Left will accept [Sen. Small donors support the President –
No other president dating back to at least Ronald Reagan had raised as much money as Trump at this point in his first term, according to the Campaign Finance Institute, a nonpartisan research group.
Unlike his predecessors, Trump began fundraising for his reelection shortly after his 2016 win.
Trump continues to be buoyed by an avid small donor base. According to his campaign, 98 percent of the total raised last quarter came from donations of $200 or less.

“Current DNA tests do not even distinguish whether a person’s ancestors were indigenous to North or South America,” Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr. said in a press release.
“Sovereign tribal nations set their own legal requirements for citizenship, and while DNA tests can be used to determine lineage, such as paternity to an individual, it is not evidence for tribal affiliation,” Hoskin continued. “Using a DNA test to lay claim to any connection to the Cherokee Nation or any tribal nation, even vaguely, is inappropriate and wrong. It makes a mockery out of DNA tests and its legitimate uses while also dishonoring legitimate tribal governments and their citizens, whose ancestors are well documented and whose heritage is proven. Senator Warren is undermining tribal interests with her continued claims of tribal heritage.”

So her Native American ancestry may date back 6 to 10 generations.
She’s potentially one-one thousand and twenty fourth Indian – which is 0.09 percent.
Using such standards, I’m Asian – which is why I can’t get into Harvard.
No wonder she had to rely on sentiment and victimhood.
But this isn’t really about history, but her story – and fixing it, cuz it’s a mess.
Did she or did she not list herself as a minority in law school directories, when it suited her? Then remove it when it didn’t?
It’s not about her background. It’s about cheating.
She’s a white woman of vast European ancestry, who went to the buffet of identity politics and took seconds, and thirds.
Warren is Native American because she said so. She wins the “2018 Rachel Dolezal award.”

The insidious socialists bullying a little kid, again –
According to the school’s dress code, “Students may not wear any clothing or display any items which are obscene, profane, suggestive or derogatory to others.” The student’s mother immediately expressed to school administrators that she didn’t feel her son’s shirt violated any of those guidelines. The school district later agreed.
A spokesperson from Kirby-Smith Middle School told Yahoo Lifestyle that the incident was a result of “momentary confusion,” further explaining, “If an employee were wearing the shirt, it would not have been allowed. We are prohibited from such political expression on the job. However on a student, the shirt is fine.” It was also clarified that the student never received a dress code violation.
“The student and a staff member had a discussion about the shirt on Wednesday. The staff member was seeking clarification about the student dress code violation versus dress code guidelines for staff which are different,” the spokesperson continued. “During the conversation with the student, the staff member suggested the student turn his shirt inside out. However, the staff member is not aware of the student turning the shirt inside out at that time and did not at any time pursue the matter.”

Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade Calls Man-Made Climate Change A ‘Point Of View’
“She really believes in global warming and that’s fine, and man’s role in climate change and that’s okay,” Kilmeade said. “But I don’t think you should bring your point of view ― she was trying to win over the president with her point of view. … The role of man has not been unveiled to a way in which the president accepts.”

From July, yet revealing. Only two ‘most important problems’ had double digits.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Immigration has risen to the top of the list when Americans are asked to name the most important problem facing the nation — edging out the government, which has been the top issue each month since January 2017. The 22% of Americans in July who say immigration is the top problem is up from 14% in June and is the highest percentage naming that issue in Gallup’s history of asking the “most important problem” question. The previous high had been 19%.

One nice thing about immigration as an issue is that there’s a clean break between the two parties. There’s plenty of youtube (and google) archives showing how the (D) elite used to be for control of the border, merit-based immigration, walls, etc. but they’ve thrown in with the open border folks in the last half dozen years or so.
It boils down to:
(R) rules for legal immigration, enforcement of current law vs.
(D) the US is a nation of immigrants, the world has a right to move here
It’s hard to get any clearer than that.
My guess is that any non-anonymous members of the Blue Mob who post here will avoid expressing an opinion on the matter. If they propose any limits to immigration, by actually proposing enforcement of any law for instance, they risk being ostracized by their peers.

It behooves the Dems to focus on immigration, since all kinds of claims can be made there about the evil Repubs which are hard to vet, and doing so will divert attention from the good economy, which people can confirm in their everyday lives. The Repubs should keep highlighting the economy, and ask voters whether they want to go back to the bad old days of Obama et al.

I expect that our local poll master will stay low until the Democrats win a couple of vote majority in the House (the most likely result).
Well earned chest thumping, especially due to the unlimited Trump Winning Streak of the last two years, will result. Stage two of the mandate will be nearly endless investigations of the sketchier income tax deductions taken by some Trump company or the other in the 1980’s.
Hopefully stage three will be the wind up as the Creepy Uncle Joe/Picohontas machine begins it’s march to inevitable victory.

What I think is a missed opportunity with the conservative pundits on immigration is this. Obama was in office when those pictures of kids in cages was released. But they don’t correct the libs when they say it is Trump. They should have that picture available at all times.

RE: Pocahontas — according to Politifact the DNA test is valid. The test does not indicate Cherokee or any other specific tribe as that is next to impossible to determine from DNA. Apparently no DNA strand is specific to one tribe or another, thus the Cherokee complaints, but it does strongly indicate a Native American ancestor somewhere in the past. The “bet” did not specify a tribe.. therefore trump is once again guilty of trying to lie his way out of a bind. And, once again, you all are cherry picking information to support your opinions.
