   1) all the pissing in the wind still does not change the fact that Harris lied by doctoring the video.
   2) the reason PR is suddenly so important to the unhinged is they are trying to tie it with Florence and are wishing something very horrid happens so they can blame it on Trump. Natural disasters are a golden opportunity to bash Trump.
   3) It’s Trump’s fault that the millions of water bottles delivered to the government of PR sat there because the government of PR was too lazy or too inept to pass the water out to the needy in their midst.
   4) None of his would have happened if Trump did not start the process to get us out of the Paris Accords, a several year process. If Trump did not diss the Paris Climate Money Grab, Florence would never had formed n the Atlantic in the first place.
   5) Point one is not up for debate. Harris is a lying sack of shit.

    In other news, the Justice Department filed it’s friend of the court brief siding with the Asian-American students and their families in their suit against Harvard’s admission policies.

    The case involved involved a group called “Priests for Life” who believed that use of contraceptives contraception is indeed the same as an abortion in a case Kavenaugh presidedover . Judge Kavenbaugh ruled in favor of the group and admitted to it in the third day of his testimony..

    The reaction to this study has grabbed my interest. Yes, it’s just one study and the author says more studies are needed. But, the very idea of young people being influenced by their peers (and social media in today’s world) is nothing new. Heck, We already knew that teens’ friends have more influence over our teens by the time they are 13-14 years old than their parents do…years ago. Ain’t no secret.

    If killing a fetus is the definition of abortion, and a fetus is a critter somewhere between a fertilized ovum and someone whose hair showing in a dilating cervix, then can we not agree that post-coital contraceptives that kill the fetus are indeed performing aborting functions? This notion is totally independent of arguments for or against abortion. All that Kavanaugh did was to render a narrowly construed assessment of a given contraceptive’s function. For that remark progressives now have their undies in a bundle??!

    Exactamundo, my good man. Our host has repeatedly, in his despair, pointed out some Lefties simply cannot wrap their minds around nuances and complexities of issues. To them, it’s all black and white, all or nothing, yes or no. No displaying any critical thinking or appreciation of grey areas.
    For example, the baker in Colorado case. SCOTUS did not decide (or side) with the baker’s arguments concerning his rights to refuse to bake a cake for a gay couple or not. Instead, they sided with his agrument that governmentt (State of Co) displayed hostility and overt bias to the baker in the CO Civil Rights Commission’s hearing into the matter. In effect, SCOTUS “sided”with the baker’s agrument that he did not receive a fair hearing, not whether he has a right to refuse to bake a custom cake.
    Another example was SCOTUS’s ruling on CA’s pregnancy crisis centers. Requiring groups whose goal is to have women continue their pregnancies to be forced by the State to advertise where women can terminate pregnancies placed an undo burden on the crisis pregnancy centers….as the State could do its own advertising where to get an abortion.
    “And even if the state had advanced a concrete justification for the notice requirement, Thomas continued, the requirement still places too much of a burden on the unlicensed centers’ speech. Thomas noted that, as the state had agreed at the oral argument in March, a billboard for an unlicensed center bearing the message “Choose Life” would also have to include a 29-word notice “in as many as 13 different languages.” “In this way,” Thomas suggested, “the unlicensed notice drowns out the facility’s own message,” making it unlikely that an unlicensed center would even try to have “such a billboard in the first place.”
    Again, SCOTUS did not rule on the merits of pro-life verses pro-choice arguments or points of view. SCOTUS sided with the argument that Government put an undo burden of the crisis pregnancy centers’ speech.

    It is troubling to see information suppressed although that aspect of it is certainly not news. The stories I have read about the ‘rise’ in transgenderism lately caused me to wonder if this wasn’t just the latest fad for many. Mass hysteria is real and can now spread via the electronic village world-wide just as it did in older times among actual villages.
    It is true among many academics and shrinks to now claim your DNA has no hold on your ‘gender identity’. If that fact is true, what else about my physical description can I ‘re-assign’? When the inmates run the asylum, don’t expect much progress with any of the patients’ health.

    It’s the ole “Dare not go there, you Must not go there…or else”, that bothers me. Whether the inquiry is into differences between the two sexes, climate change, or the influence of peers on decisions young people make, it’s all the same. It does not fit the narrative. Shut it down.
    Climate change? No one denies the climate changes. Once went out in the Southwest with a co-worker to meet Mr. Ranger. Mr. Ranger met us at a locked gate and took us into an area closed to the public. I found a small piece of pottery on the ground. Mr. Ranger looked at it and said that is about 800 years old and placed it back on the ground. He got excited when I picked up a piece of pottery that was 1500 years old. He explained that the people of that era were basket weavers. As I surveyed the barren landscape as far as the eye could see, not a tree or a speck of green for countless miles of barren land could be found. Mr. Ranger said at one time this whole region was covered with tall grass (thus the basket weaving) and streams flowed through the area, providing the people and wildlife with plenty of sources of food for their substance and communities. Today we call it “the desert”. Climate changed in 1500 years, 800 years. What does the science say about how much is human caused? If we all lived in caves for the next 200 years and never started even a fire or touched a fossil fuel and shut down everything, would the predicted catastrophes be avoided?
    I remember when one of Reagen’s Cabinet guys said for people to wear hats to avoid the then crisis of the hour….skin cancer…caused from exposure to intense sunlight. Boy, that created a firestorm. Guess folks wanted government to fix it. Hats are good advice today, ridiculed yesterday.
    Dare not go there.

    3000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico. When I left the Island, AFTER the storm had hit, they had anywhere from 6 to 18 deaths. As time went by it did not go up by much. Then, a long time later, they started to report really large numbers, like 3000…

    Remember President Donald Trump’s insistence that Mexico would pay for his border wall? Well, it seems it’s the U.S. that’ll be shelling out millions to its southern neighbor in exchange for helping Trump in his crusade against immigration.
    The Trump administration recently sent a notice to Congress saying it plans to divert $20 million allocated for foreign assistance to help Mexico deport up to 17,000 undocumented immigrants from the country, according to a New York Times report published late Wednesday.
    The money would reportedly help Mexico pay for the plane and bus fares of deportees. Central Americans attempting to flee to the U.S. via Mexico will be the main target of the initiative.

    “M”, IF DemSoc women take over the House it might well cement Trump winning in 2020. You can have the House, I’m wanting more textualists/originalists in the judiciary.
    Kavanaugh is all but confirmed, chances are good there will be another SCOTUS seat opening up in the next two years and McConnell is busy packing the lower courts with judges who have their heads on straight.
