[Well, as testimony to the exciting times in which we live, the old sandbox filled in a day or so.  Please use the last Scattershots to ensconce your comments about the implications of Cohen's attempt to incriminate his former boss of illegal campaign spending.  gjr]

Her name was Molly Tibbetts. Not some girl from Iowa, not just a human hurting another human, no just a deflection.
    http://dailycaller.com/2018/08/22/msnbc-tibbetts-iowa-murder/
Yeah, covering Molly Tibbetts’s disappearance was big news until yesterday. Coverage of the searchers, the hog farm, the neighbors casting suspicious eyes on fellow neighbors, the interviews with the locals, her Dad, the police,…all mainstream news. No problem. Now, like M, they are angry it got coverage yesterday. Shame on Bill T, shame on Fox. How dare they! It really pisses them off….the ones with TAD, that is.
“A review of TV clipping service Grabien reveals that Fox actually led their newscast with the Manafort news, spent a little over two minutes on a press conference about the Tibbetts murder, and then continued coverage on the Cohen case.
Maxwell Strachan, a Huffington Post reporter, sounded off when Fox went back to the Tibbetts case later in the hour. The suspect in the Tibbetts case is an illegal immigrant.”

“,,,where is Aleppo??? Too bad about Johnson. Who gives a shit about Aleppo now??? Much worse has happened in Syria by now anyway but we won’t talk about that. The pubbers are dividers so they went with the most divisive candidate possible and we see the result.”
The quote was “What is a Leppo?”. not where, Keach. Johnson, who hadn’t been camped in front of a TV for the previous two weeks when Aleppo was front and center thanks to poignant photographs of kids in harm’s way, was asked what US policy should be regarding Aleppo, out of the blue.
At the time, Johnson/Weld was as high as 10% in polls. Mission accomplished was the banner that MSNBC could have flown after that.
Johnson was the organ grinder’s monkey doffing his hat for Morning Joe and Hardball.
And the Keachies of the world keep forgetting… they had reamed every GOP nominee as if they were the Anti-Christ
    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2016/11/05/maher_liberals_cried_wolf_about_bush_and_romney_and_we_were_wrong_fascist_trump_is_different.html
And it was a Podesta email revealed by Wikileaks that revealed DNC marching orders to their media contacts during the primary… Donald Trump was to be promoted (along with Cruz and someone else) as “pied piper candidates” to lead the GOP astray. It worked, Keach.

Two of trump’s former close associates have been convicted of tax fraud and he still hasn’t released his tax returns…I wonder why? One would think he would be completely above board about this like every President since Nixon…. unless he had something to hide. Could be he doesn’t want people to see how much Russian money he has laundered through his resorts.

At least they tried to give Debbie her laptop back after threatening the Capital Police budget to get her laptop back. When presented with her clearly marked laptop as hers, Debbie said she had never seen that laptop before and walked away………..and is still walking.

Johnson was asked “What would you do if you were elected, about Aleppo?”. They had not been talking about Aleppo or Syria, it was a question out of the blue. Cold.
Johnson answered “What is a Leppo?”. Rather than say, it’s a city in Syria, the inquisitor asked back, “You’re kidding”.

Well Gregory as you know I voted for Johnson but I have to admit sometimes he was a bit slow. Once he was asked to name one foreign leader he respected and he contorted his face to this goofy posture and said he couldn’t think of on.
I voted for him none the less because I couldn’t stomach Hillary or Trump, who you now support.

I say again, Punchy: you are trying to nullify the last election, and that is WRONG.
Yes, Johnson did appear slow, but I think it was mostly because he didn’t have talking points memorized and quick to be recalled and recited. If you have to think about a question first, it is easy to be perceived as “slow”.

So if it turns out that trump won election by through devious means will you still support it, because it is beginning to look that way.
How many lies and felony convictions does it take for a republican to admit voting for trump was a mistake so the country can move on and repair the damage? None, because it’s all fake news and none of it ever really happened in Trumplandia, the alternate universe where the truth is not the truth.

Trump isn’t running for office… yet. Wait until there’s a primary for the 2020 election and then we shall see.
I can also say with some certainty I’ll not be voting for Trump in 2020.
Now, Bobby…. where are those pesky Russians that Mueller was given million$ and sent out with wide ranging powers to find, the Russkies who affected the election outcome?
Trump was being pushed by the DNC before the first primary as a pied-piper candidate, to weaken the GOP and make it easier for Hillary to take her rightful place because it Was Her Turn. This is how that turned out. Personally, I think the Trump presidency is poetic justice for the Democratic Party, and the good economy, good environmental law reforms and good judicial nominations is icing on the cake.

    What damage?
The economic picture looks much better, we’re getting good judges put in place, needless regulations are being done away with and our foreign policy is moving away from appeasement to our enemies. I’m not happy with everything, but its going much better than if Hillary had won.
Trump hasn’t been convicted of anything and his lies seem to be pretty harmless compared with the type of lying Obama engaged in. Trump is essentially governing as he promised – Obama sold policy to the American public like a shady used car salesman. Hillary would have been far worse.

Show me one time I advocated Trump being impeached. You made that up. I did speculate Trumps being run out of office by the Republicans. Could happen though with the Dems taking over the house which they likely will. He’s a real mental case and he could flip out though. 2020 is only a couple years away and he just may not run again if he survives that long. Impeachment Gregory? Not likely unless he’s re-elected.

Who speaks for Mollie besides Trump? Why are the numbers of ‘Angel Moms’ growing week by week? Who but Trump or Pence makes calls to the Angel Mom grieving families before he leaves the office for the day, meets with them as promised when he is in their hometown areas, and invites them to the White House with no cameras present to listen to them?
The forgotten person will be forgotten no more. Who speaks for Molly or Kathryn? “Kathryn Steinle, 32, died in her father’s arms when she was shot on July 1, 2015, while they and a family friend were strolling along Pier 14 in the city’s tourist-friendly Embarcadero district.”
Kathryn’s last words were, “Daddy, help me”.

Sure. Mothers come looking for their children, lied to, don’t know where they are, haven’t been able talk to the children. Maybe we don’t know where they are either. Was Fauxahonas referring to Moms tagging behind their unaccompanied minors? Could be in foster care or adbanoned by Uncle Cesar. Maybe in a group home somewhere. What name did they use, what nationality? Were they Mexican children that were told by someone to say they are from Guatemala? Are they in juvinelle hall somewhere?
“We need an immigration system that is effective. That focuses on where real problems are……And there was no plan for how they’d be reunified with their children.”
Stay classy Senator. Never miss a chance to demagogue Trump or slam his immigration policies. Nice pivot there. Glad to find out where the real problems are.

Well, James Brown has really disappointed the Lefties with his support and love of Trump. A leftistanista’s view of the ugly words uttered by the legend James Brown.
“It’s an ugly chapter for someone my editor once called “part of the holy trinity of athlete-activists with Muhammad Ali and Bill Russell.” It also puts Brown at odds with the fellow iconic athlete-activists of his generation like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dr. John Carlos, and Dr. Harry Edwards, who have called for active resistance to the Trump agenda.
“I didn’t think much of Dr. King. I mean, I am not trying to put him down, but if you think about the majority of the rhetoric, it’s about what’s being done to us. It doesn’t have damn near anything that says what we’re going to do for ourselves.”
This position was shared by the right wing of the Black Power movement, which was focused far more on building small businesses and the economic base of the black community than other forms of resistance. So it was no wonder Jim Brown endorsed Richard Nixon for president in 1968. Nixon himself appealed to this wing of the movement in a speech, saying, “What most of the militants are asking is not separation, but to be included in—not as supplicants, but as owners, as entrepreneurs—to have a share of the wealth and a piece of the action.” Federal government programs, Nixon said, should “be oriented toward more black ownership, for from this can flow the rest—black pride, black jobs, black opportunity and, yes, black power.”
    https://www.thenation.com/article/understanding-jim-browns-ugly-support-of-donald-trump/
    Not Rahm, too!
“[Rahm] Emanuel is once again coming under fire for blaming a lack of morals in predominantly black and Hispanic neighborhoods for the recent spate of violent crime.” The report adds, “Critics quickly called him out for what they dubbed tone-deaf comments, in which he seemed to be blaming the victims.” These critics are simply condoning the status quo — and worse. ——Jordan Chandler.

You Just Do Not Get It
Our lefty commentators just do not get it? Here is as clear explanation by Salena Zito on Why Trump’s supporters won’t care about Cohen and Manafort’s convictions.
In the aftermath of Tuesday’s news that both former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and his lawyer Michael Cohen were found on the wrong side of the law in separate court cases, the question asked most frequently by the press, Democrats and “Never Trump” Republicans is, “Where do Trump voters go now?”
The answer is the same that it has always been since they first started asking it Nov. 9, 2016: With Trump.
This new conservative populist coalition is not the fluke the political class hoped it was. Donald Trump did not cause it, he is just the result of it, so no matter what he does, it continues. It is predicated on them, not him.
The coalition is a strike at not just tone deafness in both Congress and the White House but also high levels of incompetence, negligence and shoddy performance at agencies, as well as inept social services, a bloated and incompetent bureaucracy, endless wars and multinational agreements and treaties that don’t benefit average people.
These voters knew who Trump was going in, they knew he was a thrice-married, Playmate dating, Howard Stern regular who had the morals of an alley cat. They were willing to look past all of that because of how institutions had failed their communities for three consecutive presidencies.
Right now the value of Trump to the Trump voter is he is all that stands between them and handing the keys to Washington back over to the people inside Washington. That’s it. He’s their only option. You’ve got to pick the insiders or him.

Here they come. Same thing China, the USSR, North Korea, Khmer Rouge did. Top on the priority list. Oh yeah, add the Reign of Terror in France. Turn the churches (and mosques) into Temples of Enlightment.
“The faith community, like anyone else, needs to evolve with the times,” Democratic Assemblyman Al Muratsuchi said during debate on the legislation. “The science is clear. The claim that the First Amendment can be used as a defense for promoting fraudulent conduct is a fallacious argument.”

Guns. Wonder how long before gun hobbyist magazines are removed from magazine racks down at the market? Banks may not want to business with such stores.
Reddit has banned certain gun forums and updated its policies to forbid using Reddit to “solicit or facilitate” (extremely broad terms) transactions or gifts involving firearms. Its policy applies to gun sales, drug sales, prostitution, stolen goods, personal information, and counterfeit official documents. One of those things is not like the other. The keeping and bearing of firearms is an explicit, enumerated constitutional right. The rest of the list largely deals with criminal activity.
