[A reader sent me a link that reminds us that the contention that a large fraction of Democrat voters are developmentally challenged is actually a fundamental truth that the Democratic leadership and liberal elites jealously believe in and fight/oppose public policies that will expose its fallacy. Yes, it is the Dem leadership and elites who believe that their constituents are simply too dumb to figure out how to get voter IDs (more here). gjr]

Sacramento Bee page 1B top right. The liberals loons of Del Paso Heights in Sac are dissing the Pastor of their church for being in a meeting with Trump on jobs and other issues. Of course they interview some punk ass man that has probably never created one job and let him rant against the Pastor. This is why there is a divide when one man cannot even meet with another without liberals going beserk.

Prediction: Probably the most covered race in 2018 will be the Georgia Governor’s Race.
The hype has not started yet, but the media, led by the NYT, will create the impression of a real horse race going on and how important the down to the wire race is to the future of mankind. The media always tries to create a horse races by extensive coverage of select contents, then shift focus and tone to the candidate they really preferred from the start.
She has already made the cover of Time. A novice, Black woman, middle age spread, gap in her teeth, a genuine real down to earth person with a powerful personal story.
“People tend to remember the first time they heard Stacey Abrams speak, and it’s easy to see why. On a Friday afternoon in May, the Democratic nominee for governor of Georgia is at a union hall in Augusta, telling a story about her father, a college-educated black man who was relegated by his race to working at a shipyard in southern Mississippi in the 1970s. The family had one car, so Robert Abrams would sometimes hitchhike home in the middle of the night. When he didn’t come home one time, the rest of the family set out to pick him up and found him half-frozen by the side of the road, having given his coat to a homeless man. They asked why he, a poor man on a lonely road at night, would do such a thing. And Robert said, “Because I knew you were coming for me.”
You can hear scattered sniffles in the union hall as his daughter pauses. Then she roars: “I am coming for you, Georgia! Help me get there!”
——Powerful stuff. At a local union hall, no less.

M 1042am – Your thinker continues to be on the blink. Nowhere have I or anyone else (here and elsewhere) claimed knowing how an ID card holder would vote. All we claim is that such IDs would cut down voter fraud. And yes, inevitably there are some room temp Repubs out there. Manifort is accused for being an unregistered agent of a foreign country. Here’s details of the charges agaisnt him and Gates, who has flipped. If this isn’t swampy what is.
“Prosecutors allege that Manafort and Gates worked as unregistered agents of the government of Ukraine and the Party of Regions, a pro-Russian political party led by Victor Yanukovych. While serving as president of the former Soviet republic from 2010 to 2014, Yanukovych was closely aligned with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The indictment says that up to $75 million flowed through overseas accounts controlled by the two Americans. Manafort is alleged to have laundered more than $18 million he used to buy property and goods in the United States. Gates is alleged to have transferred more than $3 million to accounts he controlled.

Are you saying 3-5 years is typical for the crimes he’s accused of? We have local bank fraud convictions that have longer sentences than that.
“Indictments includes 16 counts related to false individual income tax returns, seven counts of failure to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts. five counts of bank fraud conspiracy and four counts of bank fraud. ”

PaulE 1139am – The ‘swamp’ and hence “swampy” has been reserved for the nefarious goings on of the federal government, especially in the DC area, as characterized by the operations of it various bureaus and agencies. Your (and the Left’s) expanding that definition to cover anyone you don’t like that has had a relationship with a Republican before they entered government appears to be yet another unfounded expression of your TDS. PaulE 1203pm – It appears that indicted means guilty as charged; OK. ‘Slime’ is a ubiquotous attribute not connected with place, time, or function, therefore a much more accurate label for your opinion of “Manifort”(sic) – he spells it Manafort, but what the hell, we know who you mean.
Republicans have no franchise on the meanings of any word (unlike the Dems on, say, racist); but those of us who read the nation’s media learned early what the specific meaning of ‘swamp’ was in the public forum. Apparently you missed that part of the national dialogue.

The Manafort case is shaping up to be one big tax evasion case. The other case in another court about failing to register as a forgein agent (as was his partner Tony in Ukraine ) is a nothingburger. Usually, the Justice Department sends someone a letter encouraging them to get on the stick and register. “Come on guys, you forgot to fill out the paperwork, please don’t drag your feet any longer.” More akin to an out of compliance letter…a friendly reminder notice.
https://www.vox.com/the-big-idea/2017/11/3/16596484/fara-foreign-agents-registration-manafort-enforcement-scandal
Don’t get me wrong. Tax evasion is not something to be swept under the carpet. Manafort, if convicted for tax fraud, finds no favor with me. The bank fraud is the ole Liars Loan thang, lying on loan forms. It’s what they nailed the Pakistani guy to stole the Democrat Congressional Caucus Committee’s server, complete with all the files from 40 House D members. Got him on lying on loan apps, but I digress.
Most folks have no sympathy for tax cheats. The biggest tax cheat in American history was on Marc Rich. He was represented by Hillary Rodman’s brother who was able to secure a pardon from President Bill Clinton after arranging a 10 million gift to the Clinton Library via Marc’s ex-wife. That pissed off a bunch of folks and even had the Lefties saying that ain’t right. That just seemed so wrong at the time, yet was in the
Resident’s purview.
They busted Leona “The Queen Of Mean” Helmsley for writing off work down on her house and writing off a gold gilded bra, lol. She was sentenced to 16 years but only did 19 months and given house arrest. Of course, her “We don’t pay taxes; only the little people pay taxes,” garnered her little sympathy. Or was that
None of that qualifies as The Swamp, per se. While the Swamp does not have to include only our entrenched bureaucrats (lobbyists, elected politicians, and crony capitalism comes to mind), whatever Manafort did years prior to the 2016 Campaign is not the Swamp, IMHO.
Hmm. Maybe that writing off the gold bra was somebody else. They caught many. Willie Nelson, Sen. Tom Daschle, Jesse Jackson Jr, Pete Rose, Wesley Snipes. Average time on gets for tax evasion/fraud is about 2 years or less…..
I care more that Manafort gets a fair trial with his civil liberties not trampled upon more than anything else. Whether he is good, bad, or ugly, his civil liberities must not be violated. That is my bottom line.

Some of you may have also enjoyed Dinesh D’Souza’s intelligent books, lectures and movies. I’m looking forward to seeing his latest….”Death of a Nation” in which he examines fascism and white supremacy and exposes hidden history and truths.
This documentary draws parallels between the dramatic fracturing of the nation over Abraham Lincoln’s presidency and the presidency of Donald Trump. Not since 1860 have the Democrats so fanatically refused to accept the result of a free election. That year, their target was Lincoln. They smeared him. They went to war to defeat him. In the end, they assassinated him. Now the target of the Democrats is President Trump and his supporters. The Left calls them racists, white supremacists and fascists. These charges are used to justify driving Trump from office and discrediting the right ‘by any means necessary.’ But which is the party of the slave plantation? Which is the party that invented white supremacy? Which is the party that praised fascist dictators and shaped their genocidal policies and was in turn praised by them? Moreover, which is the party of racism today? Is fascism now institutionally embodied on the right or on the left? Through stunning historical recreations and a searching examination of fascism and white supremacy, Death of a Nation cuts through progressive big lies to expose hidden history and explosive truths. Lincoln united his party and saved America from the Democrats for the first time. Can Trump–and we–come together and save America for the second time?
