[Ideology – n. A structured and communicable belief system that in its best expression is composed of tenets defendable by and malleable to reason. Ideologue – a person who is willing to communicate his ideology. A more dubious definition of an ideologue is “a person who zealously advocates an ideology”. The adverb 'zealously' denotes doing something in an "ardent, devoted, or diligent manner". Hence, I confess again that I am an ideologue. But then what does one call a person who advocates an ideology in a non-zealous manner? gjr]

rl crabb | 23 July 2018 at 01:56 PM “bunky”? See you just can’t resist name-calling can you? And talent? Sorry but yours is slipping away and it is probably your fault with the imbibing things. Regarding a “pedestal” Sorry never have thought I was better than anyone else. Unlike you who make fun of people and claim you are not a bigot, I try and use debate. You are a flop and are simply lashing out. Regarding talent. I was a self made contractor and I designed and built over 60 homes here and elsewhere. My skills may not be as sharp as your Crayola drawings but many people are happily living in structures I created. You are simply a bigot Crabb and can’t admit it.

Regarding these security clearances. I just had lunch with George Grayeb. He was a retired military man and he said he had the highest clearances you can get. He is now 90. Anyway he does not know if he still has them! And he said he has never had reason to ask.
And the Mullahs want many more like “M” here. Fifth Columnists who would sell their mother out if the head choppers came here. I say Trump is trying to stir up the youth of Iran who are fed up with the old farts in charge. Maybe Trump could get the new gal Ocasio-Cortez over there as Ambassador? Youth on youth.

Crabby 1205pm
“And Greggy, I’m not sorry I blocked you. Your inability to let anyone but yourself to have the last word was your downfall. After fifty or so responses to anything Steve Frisch says, it just becomes endlessly redundant.”
And so your exaggerations continue. It was your inability to choose to curb your BFF and Frisch.
Perhaps I quoted more than you could read in one sitting… would you agree with Frisch that this 335am comment of his has absolutely no personal insults in it?:
Steve Frisch says:
May 14, 2017 at 3:35 am
I almost added a caveat to this little essay, that I fully expected a small minded troll who views the world through a lens of self appointed intellectual superiority and a single minded jihadist focus on climate change, would find the spelling error. Oh, BTW, “worshiping at the altar of Smith…” wasn’t referring to you. I was really thinking way behind the tiny world of Goodknight.
I am amazed every time you comment at just how small you are.
So, RL, is that a personal insult in your world, or not?

And another challenge to a perhaps boneheaded statement by RL:
rlcrabb: “Immigration shouldn’t be so complicated to solve. Make the pathway to citizenship clear. Let the Dreamers be first in line. No voting or benefits until applied for citizenship. Clear enough?”
How about “no voting or benefits” until AFTER citizenship is granted?
More in the clear as mud category… the parents who brought the “Dreamer” in illegally… does the “DREAMer” then pull in their parents who violated US law in the first place? I say no… make them take their place at the end of the line, with five or ten years before their number can even bubble up to the top. Or the family can reunite in their country of origin and all try again later. Much later.
This is what happens when a 2nd rate yet widely loved ‘tooner delves into hit-and-run political statements that he won’t discuss.

Meanwhile its getting harder and harder to be a mutha mullah –
“We weren’t afraid to tackle the regime at its highest level,” Pompeo said in a speech in California, referring to sanctions leveled in January against Sadeq Larijani, the head of Iran’s judiciary.
Pompeo also confirmed that Washington wants all countries to reduce their imports of Iranian oil “as close to zero as possible” by November 4, part of US efforts to increase economic pressure on Tehran.
“There’s more to come,” Pompeo said.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/afp/article-5981041/US-not-afraid-tackle-Iran-regime-highest-level-Pompeo.html?ns_mchannel=rss&ito=1490&ns_campaign=1490
He also spoke in detail about Iran’s malign, ideologically-driven foreign policy.
But arguably the most significant portion of the speech, entitled “supporting Iranian voices,” related to corruption and nepotism among the Islamic republic’s elite, including those claiming a mantle of religious authority.
While ordinary Iranians suffer and cry out for jobs and opportunities, he said, the regime was lining “its own pockets.”
“The ayatollahs are in on the act too,” Pompeo said. “Judging by their vast wealth they seem more concerned with riches than religion.”
“These hypocritical holy men have devised all kinds of crooked schemes to become some of the wealthiest men on earth, while their people suffer.”

Then there was this lovely ‘toon of Steven Miller as Himmler:

An ugly characterization, especially since Miller is Jewish.
It should be noted that the SCOTUS upheld the “travel ban” for exactly the same reasons Steven Miller was giving: the President has the authority over who shall be allowed into the country. Even a President Donald J. Trump.
Reading the comments, it shows that I didn’t get the last word very often at all, and Crabb’s BFF, Frisch and mandersonation were all there commenting. Perhaps Crabby can give a link that illustrates the boorish behavior that led to my being disinvited to comment on his blog.

“Instead, she noted, the council opted to issue a baseless report that “reads like a socialist political manifesto of higher taxes, government-run health care, and ‘decriminaliz[ing] being poor’ (never mind that nowhere in America is it a crime to be poor).”
Meanwhile, the council has never condemned China, Cuba, Russia, Saudi Arabia, or Zimbabwe — despite their terrible human rights records. Instead, nearly half of the resolutions it has passed to condemn countries for human rights violations have focused on Israel.
For all these reasons — and thanks to Ambassador Haley’s leadership — America withdrew from the UN’s deeply flawed Human Rights Council last month.

What a gloom lot. And to think they couldn’t get any more miserable.
Utopians will always be less happy than those who know that suffering is inherent to human existence. The utopian compares America to utopia and finds it terribly wanting. The conservative compares America to every other civilization that has ever existed and walks around wondering how he got so lucky as to be born or naturalized an American.
A fourth explanation for greater unhappiness among liberals is that the more people allow feelings to govern them, the less happy they will be. And the further left one goes, the more importance one attaches to feelings.

The Dougie saga, updated:
“If you watch or skim through … any liberal TV show or news program, it’s Armageddon. It’s horrible. It’s like misery’s in your house and there’s a little guy breaking your ankles. They’re all sad,” he said.
“They’re just miserable, and we’re like, ‘We won, we’re making money, I’m pop-locking it home.’ It’s a good time if you’re working hard and paying your bills and stuff. And if you’re not, you’re miserable. I’m not saying all Democrats don’t work, but I’m just saying there’s a certain group of them who prefer things done for them, and they’re pretty upset right now.”
He had a valid point, but not in regard to the left’s reaction to President Donald Trump’s election. Trump just stepped into office a year ago, and since the study covers a 40-year span, he’s ultimately irrelevant to the study’s results.
But what Tyrus said later about Democrats preferring “things done for them” hit the nail on the head. Conservatives find joy and meaning in working hard, fulfilling their obligations, taking care of their families and, in some cases, adhering to a religious faith. And while not every liberal is a welfare-consuming secularists, many leftists do readily subscribe to attitudes of victimhood and entitlement.

”’In recent months, a consensus has emerged among the conservative dissidents of the Trump era: We’ll continue to oppose the president when his policies and practices are counter to our principles, they say, but also be sure to publicly give credit whenever he stakes out an agreeable position on any issue that matters. During the campaign, obdurate opposition served the purpose of challenging his candidacy and elevating his competitors, but now, with Trump sitting in the Oval Office, the thinking goes, it smacks of sour grapes—and, given that he does do things with which we agree, it amounts to cutting off our noses to spite our faces. So, serve as the loyal opposition as necessary but join the cause when possible.
It is a coherent approach. It is the pragmatic one. But it is unsatisfying and unsettling. And with each casual lie, crude insult, attack on the media, slight of the intelligence community, and example of grotesque servility to Russia’s dictator, it increasingly appears morally misguided.”’

You know, I forgot all about Aug, 2016 – The people who drafted McMullin to be the “Never Trump” independent candidate are some of the Republican establishment’s most well-known operatives: Bill Kristol…….funny how Trump brought Romney to the Towers to give him and interview. Mitt (who straps cute adorable puppies to the roof of the family wagon) and that angry D from Arizona who went around singing “Bomb, bomb Iran.” Not its Russia. Russia, Russia.
“I was absolutely outraged by [Donald Trump’s] behavior in Helsinki, where he really sold the American people out. … Perhaps he is being blackmailed by Russia because they may have compromising information about him or perhaps also you have a president who really does have strong authoritarian tendencies and maybe he admires the kind of government that Putin is running in Russia.” —Sen. Bernie Sanders (Socialist-VT). How was your honeymoon. Comrade?
For months I’ve been trying to tell the American public that this president is dangerous [and] that he’s in bed with Putin. Don’t forget this president can’t borrow money in the United States from any bank. This president is looking at Russia for his new money, financial playground. … I think he is Putin’s apprentice. He’s been under his tutelage for a long time now.” —Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA)

Billions of $$$ in farm aid to create more LaMalfa’s. and where is this money coming from? General funds of course adding to our deficit.
“The Trump administration is planning to ease fears of a trade war by announcing Tuesday about $12 billion in aid to farmers hurt by retaliatory tariffs, according to three sources familiar with the plan.
The administration’s plan is expected to use two commodity support programs in the farm bill, as well as the Agriculture Department’s broad authority to stabilize the agricultural economy during times of turmoil by buying up excess supply. The plan is also expected to focus on providing aid to the dairy sector in particular, one of the sources said.”

M 1104am – From this I take it that you don’t know what ‘to censor’ means. Furthermore, there is no evidence at all of their being involved in or needed for any counseling of “subsequent security officials”, and most certainly they would be prohibited from sharing with uncleared people (and without the need to know) any classified information still in their possession. Elsewhere I have explained why they still have security clearances. And in the final analysis, it is the President’s call as to whether their continued enjoyment of said clearances helps or hurts the government and the nation it governs. Elections do have consequences.

M 1255pm – “highjack news cycle”, “denounce said officials”, “cleanse and purge opinions”??? I see from these that you were not able to connect ‘censor’ to security clearance removal, since none of these inhibit the ability of “said officials” to speak their minds in public forums.

There’s no point in paying attention to these guys anymore. It’s like listening to someone complain about their ex-wife.
