["Immigrants separated from their children after being arrested for illegally entering the U.S. at the Mexican border are being asked to choose between being deported alone or with their children." Why in the world would we not deport the children with the adults who brought them in? Is it because the kiddie importers may not be the kids' parents after all? Then where is today's insane hew and cry about separating kids from arrested parents – a long practiced process for both American and illegals taken into custody? Or are we now done with this topic? gjr]

“The D.C. U.S. Attorney’s office dropped all charges Friday against people awaiting trial for allegedly rioting during President Donald Trump’s Inauguration Day.
Police arrested 234 people on January 20, 2017, for rioting that was allegedly spearheaded by a group that calls themselves DisruptJ20. Protesters caused more than $100,000 in damage by setting fires and smashing store windows, reported The Washington Post.
Although 21 people pleaded guilty before trial, prosecutors failed to secure any convictions for the protesters who went to trial. The attorney’s office filed a motion to dismiss the remaining 38 protesters awaiting trial, reported Zoe Tillman of BuzzFeed News. “

Cool, I hadn’t heard about that in a while. I think they landed a couple on the Riga some time ago. I can’t imagine that it’s very easy to build up those systems from scratch, even when you are reverse engineering, and it’ll take a while for those guys to pull it off. Honestly, I’m surprised that they want to bother with carrier-based aviation given their situation and the likely upcoming obsolescence of that general tech.
re: Putin is fine.
I’d go so far as to say that he probably saved the world. The wind-down of the USSR could have gone disastrously wrong with no trouble at all. My own view is that someone like him is needed to run the place.

Check this out. Trumps former campaign manager is in solitary confinement 23 hours a day. Wow
from Fox news:
“Paul Manafort, the former Trump campaign manager who was sent to jail in June for allegedly tampering with witnesses in the special counsel investigation, is being held in solitary confinement in a Virginia prison cell for 23 hours a day, his lawyers said on Friday.
Manafort, according to his lawyer, is being secluded because correctional officials “cannot otherwise guarantee his safety.”
He was sent to jail on June 15 pending trial after pleading not guilty to charges filed by the special counsel, which alleged that he and his associate, Konstantin Kilimnik, of Moscow, obstructed justice in the Russia investigation.”

Collusion and meddling are clearly in the eye of the beholder –
We like the change in approach, that he does not want to lecture all other countries in the world. … He understood the American methodology must not, by definition, work in countries with totally different history, different approaches, different understandings. And, of course, we understand very well his policy on migration.”
Szijjártó also made reference to the efforts of President Barack Obama’s State Department to influence the domestic politics of Central and Eastern European countries. He spoke approvingly of the reluctance of the Trump administration to do the same. “We are happy that those open attempts to interfere in our domestic issues, which happened during the Democrat administration, are not the case anymore,” he told House.

Are you saying Sen Burr did not support the memo from the SI Committee and the mempdoes not represent the committee consensus? ?
Gregory writes
“Yes, that was from Burr’s senate web page. But Burr’s name is not on the memo nor the name of any other member of the committee, nor any claim of approval from the intelligence subcommittee. You know what an imprimatur is, don’t you, Steve? “”
Golly, Punchy, let me spell it out for you:
No, if I wanted to say “Sen Burr did not support the memo from the SI Committee and the mempdoes (sic) not represent the committee consensus?” I would have spelled memo correctly.
Perhaps another way of stating what I did write is that from the memo on Burr’s senate web page has none of the markings I would expect from an official work product of a Senate committee indicating how it was approved by said committee.
Was that easier for you to understand, Paul?

Dr. Rebane should repost that again somewhere. Thank you Bonnie. July 6, 2018, 7:19 pm. That is exactly what has been happening in our country and where the Progressives and SJWs were taking us. Book burning was next, until the people cried out, “Enough. No Mas! We are taking our country back.”
Once went to the USSR. Moscow. After I left, every person I talked to or shared lunch with was questioned by the Soviet Authorities. Found that out later. Trump’s own CIA indeed supports Trump. May not agree with him, but stands behind the President. Duty first and all that stuff.
“Asked if he must “walk a fine line” due to Trump’s dismissive attitude about claims of Russian election interference, Pompeo said: “I don’t do fine lines. I do the truth.”
“We deliver nearly every day personally to the President the most exquisite truth that we know from the CIA,” he added.
Those remarks echo what Pompeo said in October when he indicated that outside interference remains a threat to the midterm elections and the next presidential election, in 2020.
“We are at risk in 2018 and 2020 … we are always at risk,” he said.
https://www.cnn.com/2018/01/30/politics/cia-director-pompeo-russia-spies/index.html
Ok, let’s see. We have Pomero keeping the suspicious eye out on those damn Russians. We have war hawk Bolten meeting with Russian officials to set a time and place for Trump and Putin to meet. We have Maddog 20-20 watching every move instead o being stuck with Ash Carter and his top priority of barring military Chaplins from giving religious services on government property and promoting tranny babies’s sex changes while they are on active duty. Me thinks we will be just fine with Putin running amok and our eyes wide open.
And we have our secret weapon, the man from Queens. Coming soon: The Trump Hotel Tsar towering over Red Square!
“After his meeting in Singapore with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un last week, Trump explained his thinking on the subject.
“I think it’s better to have Russia in than out. Just like North Korea and everybody else, it’s much better to get along with them than if we don’t,” Trump told reporters.”

Poor Popinjay. He longs for the days of the RINOs and is stuck in the Cold War mentality. Now he wants Cold War 2, but, alas, time has passed him by.
“For decades, America’s elites failed to see that the transnational moment of the post-Cold War era was passing and an era of rising nationalism and tribalism was at hand.
“We live in a time,” said U2’s Bono this week, “when institutions as vital to human progress as the United Nations are under attack.”
“The institutions Bono referenced — the U.N., EU, NATO — all trace their roots to the 1940s and 1950s, a time that bears little resemblance to the era we have entered, an era marked by a spreading and desperate desire of peoples everywhere to preserve who and what they are.
“No, Trump didn’t start the fire.
“The world was ablaze with tribalism and was raising up authoritarians to realize nationalist ends — Xi Jinping, Putin, Narendra Modi in India, Erdogan in Turkey, Gen. el-Sissi in Egypt — before he came down that escalator.
“And so the elites who were in charge when the fire broke out, and who failed to respond and refused even to recognize it, and who now denounce Trump for how he is coping with it, are unlikely to be called upon again to lead this republic.

“Is not the fact that each party has a liberal and conservative wing a genuine source of national strength and cohesion?…The result is, of course, that no group can have the desperate feeling that all options are foreclosed, all access to power barred, by the victory of the opposition: there will always be somebody in a Democratic administration on whose shoulders business can weep, and even a Republican administration will have somewhere a refuge for labor. If the party division were strictly ideological, each presidential election would subject national unity to a fearful test. We must remember that the one election when our parties stood irrevocably on questions of principle was the election of 1860.”

After careful scholarship, that included looking at Senator Burr’s web site, reading his office press release, perusing the media coverage of his comments, and watching it from three different sources covered on video, I have come to the conclusion, that low and behold, both the report and its conclusions are supported by Senator Burr.
Its lack of specificity can be attributed to the point that an un-classified version of the report will be forwarded at a later date.
So, regardless of the lack of the ‘imprimatur’ that some regard as necessary for veracity, there is no conspiracy here…no plan to defame the memo by not placing an imprimatur on it…it is valid.
I am however not surprised that those who wish to deny evidence would resort to the tactic of defaming it and claiming it is invalid if it is contrary to your beliefs, particularly when it comes to mindlessly following the Cult of Trump.
LikeLike
Yes it was on Burr’s webpage. So what? Not a header or a footer to allow someone to know if it is official or not. And as long as it is clean then it is not official. Please give us the vote of the committee to release this and maybe I will be more convinced of your position.

My guess is that the real argument about Russkies and elections is determining to what degree their (or any other country’s) activities fall under the Rules of the Game.
RT/Sputnik/etc strike me as perfectly acceptable. Social media engineering is new and yet to be worked out. Illegally breaking into a server is a problem, even if you are merely showing evildoings of someone else. There are certainly plenty of private organizations and individuals capable of any of these things. My guess is that multiple people had access to DNC and Hillary computers.
One problem is that the things that are easy to show (state-sponsored media) are used to carry along the sketchier arguments (unproven hacking attempts, especially one that are likely to be physical breaches like thumb drives).
Of course, the US does far more of these than is done to us, but that’s a different matter. At a state level, my suspicion is that we are already in a form of MAD. If the Russians were to release too much, we do the same to them. The ironic thing is that most of the political and banking secrets need to be kept secret from the public, not the elites of both sides.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing a crackdown on this kind of thing, especially cash flow, but there are too many people on the Mexico/Arab/Israeli gravy train for that to happen. Dig too deep, and the accusations of racism and/or anti-Semitism will fly.
