   God Bless Mad Dog! The realignment of the Arabs has attained real synergy. Who could have imagined the Israelis and the Saudis doing a large scale air exercise up the suez into the med? Not to mention the cooperative push back on the Iranians, hezbollah, hamas and all jihadi labels.
   Their F-35’s did the can you see me now over high value Iranian targets and somehow an IR image from their lightning II overflights lookdown showed up on the www! Talk about humiliating the mullahs air defense forces.
   I have to wonder how many heads the mullahs have cleaved off after the Mosad rolled into the government park in Tehran and took their holy grail Nuke research and plans in 1 day? No wonder the Mosad killed all those old scientists in recent years. Magnet bombs delivered by the back seat rider of a motorcycle is an elegant hit, no mistakes, clear identification of the target, very professional.
   Now we have this-

   I didn’t expect anyone to, it was mostly to show that I didn’t cook up the World’s Most Stupid Gun Law from whole cloth. As I mentioned, the infamous Assault Rifle Ban was basically nothing, but now and again the name is resurrected as shorthand for something meaningful (like ‘The Crusades’ or any other basically unknown event in the past which is a symbol of European perfidy).

   The important thing is the term as a PR move, it has that fine sound of illegal aggressive action. I expect it will come to mean any semiauto over a certain length. Dunno how they plan to work those AR15 looking pump action guns into the rubric.
   In any case, I digress. Given that I have no interest in hearing from gun control people about their thoughts on the matter, it’s all just a waste of typing.

   One last tiny thought on the matter, I have always vastly admired the term ‘denier’ when applied to climate issues (cooling then warming then whatever).

    Official say the recent legalization of cannabis for California adults 21 and over is directly contributing to the recent spate of home invasions in the North Bay.
    “The only clarity we know is that word has gotten out that marijuana in California is abundant and it’s easy to get,” said Sgt. Spencer Crum, a spokesman for the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. “And it’s way more profitable in the areas where they live, where it’s illegal.”
    A man from Miami was arrested Thursday in Oakland for Wednesday’s robbery. The second suspect remains at large, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said.
    Authorities in March arrested seven men from North Carolina and Virginia for allegedly invading three homes in Petaluma to steal marijuana.

    On Friday’s “PBS NewsHour,” New York Times columnist David Brooks said that the GOP tax bill is working better than he thought it would and the evidence “seems to be that what the Trump people told us would happen is happening, that companies are reinvesting the money.”
    Brooks stated, “I was against the Trump tax cuts. But the early evidence is that they’re working better than I thought. And so, in the first quarter, among S&P companies, capital expenditures are up 39 percent. That’s a seven-year high. That’s far higher than a lot of us thought. Stock buybacks, which is just giving people — to shareholders, that’s only 16 percent. So the evidence from just the first quarter seems to be that what the Trump people told us would happen is happening, that companies are reinvesting the money.

    You can partly explain away the current insanity of the Left, especially the professional Left, in that they feel cheated. It looked like an open field from here on, one Obama after the other, the death of nationalism, each special interest group getting their cut, but then this Deplorable thing happened. For some reason the loss of something you thought was in your grasp is worse than one that is a stretch, a kind of fallacy of possibilities.
    In terms of division, I can see where the internet was serving as one model for that. As we spend more time online, perhaps even with surgical connections or as a brain-in-a-jar at some point, you’d think that the space would be unlimited in size. It turns out that the Left has pursued the Right even here. Speech rules in the EU (especially the UK), near-monopoly power from both social media and the internet substrate, even something as trivial as who gets to post on youtube, this is a battlefield as much as anything on land and in terms of relationships to large companies is one that is probably already lost. Who knew that the web oligarchs would be Left activists? It wasn’t a preordained result.
    Hell man, they’ve even carried the fight to the world of open source software.

Education, Media, Entertainment world, in government from school boards to embedded in the highest departments and offices…and the beautiful people in all the correct puppeteer positions. How can we possibly combat so many mighty armies that surround us?

And, lest we forget, we do have one man and his Twitter machine that is guareented to suck all the air out of the room and always commands center stage. It appears a counterbalance is all we got. Sometimes I feel like grade school kids throwing a bucket of stones at an active shooter. Don’t knock it if you haven’t tried it. Some of those stones to the forehead can make you see stars.

    Something flew out of Bremerton Africa (non stop) and is now over Dutch flat taking in the sights. ( in a wild flight pattern)
    It show up on the flight tracker just as “N”. I hope they check in with customs.

    And while it might also come as a surprise to some people, Congress — a separate, co-equal branch of government run, for the moment, by Republicans — is tasked with oversight of the executive branch, which includes the Justice Department. Now, you may deem Congress scandalously incompetent or hopelessly partisan, but it’s within the purview of a congressional committee to ask the FBI for documents pertaining to an ongoing investigation. Congress isn’t breaking the law or “extorting” anyone by asking for more transparency, as Rosenstein recently asserted.
    Yet most Democrats (and #NeverTrumpers) have taken the exceptionally convenient position that not only should the president (well, this president) not have a say over the goings-on at the Justice Department but Congress (well, this Congress) also has no right to demand oversight. Most of the media frame their work accordingly, creating the impression the FBI doesn’t answer to anyone.
    Or…..
    Or maybe Mueller will uncover criminality. Maybe Trump will abuse his office in an effort to bury the investigation. If the House believes so, it can impeach the president. If the Senate believes so, it can remove him. If the Republicans believe it, they can nominate someone else. If the American people agree, they can elect another president. This is all proper. But changing how government works by effectively stripping embedded constitutional oversights for political reasons is just another kind of corruption.

    Scott.That was what was named of the flight’s origin. I did trace it back to the Eastern side of Africa. Either the nation of,South Africa, or the nation (this week) above it. Hell.. I can’t even find it now.
    Whatever kind of aircraft it was fell off the radar West of Dutch Flat. No aircraft ID either, and the stated speed was only 60 knots.
    It was just luck of the draw that I even looked at that blip on the screen.
    Even the flight tack back to Africa was a head scratchier. It looked like a satellite track. (from point of origin, headed North by N.West, all the way up into Canada, the back down this way)
    Just another observation never to be explained.

    At the risk of being boring about it, the whole deal smells to me like the national security apparatus is using this as a break-out to become a 4th branch of government, and likely a dominant one.
    Perhaps they’ll settle down to the model of a banana republic military (which are never bonafide armies) which pops out and sets things right every few years.
    I’ll bet that Paul never thought he would be bosom buddies with the FBI at some point in his life. It’s the era of strange bedfellows.
