A little perspective on the ‘trade war’ hysteria –
It’s not surprising that China’s proposed tariffs carry more bark than bite for Boeing. In the very long run, China could potentially reduce its reliance on Boeing aircraft. But for now, there are only two major aircraft manufacturers, and Airbus’ popular A320/A320neo family of planes has a backlog of more than 6,000 unfilled orders. That’s equivalent to nine years of output, even at the stepped-up production rates currently planned.
In theory, Airbus would love to gain market share in China at Boeing’s expense. However, the A320neo family is completely sold out until around 2022. Even beyond then, Airbus would probably be unable to meet all of China’s aircraft demand without shortchanging its own loyal customers elsewhere in the world.

Fracking and horizontal drilling in shale formations have unleashed torrents of cheap U.S. natural gas that made the country among the most profitable places to produce chemicals, beating the Middle East in attracting projects.
Plastics Plants
DowDuPont Inc., Exxon Mobil Corp., and Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. are putting the finishing touches on multibillion-dollar factories along the Texas Gulf Coast, part of $188 billion in proposed and recently completed project, according to the American Chemistry Council.
Almost 20 factories are being built or expanded to convert gas liquids such as ethane and propane into ethylene, the most used petrochemical and the main ingredient in polyethylene plastic.
Most of the investment is coming from abroad. South Africa’s Sasol Ltd. is spending $11 billion on a chemical complex outside Lake Charles, Louisiana. France’s Total SA, South Korea’s Lotte Chemical Corp. and Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics Corp. also are investing in U.S. factories.

No matter what side you are in this thing, the tortuous logic required here just shows that the real point is the confiscation of everything over time.
One super clever trick used in Mass. (and California) is to have lists of ‘approved’ weapons. Everything else is in a kind of legal limbo and given the tendency for DAs to overcharge in an offense, no one wants to take the chance. Over time, you reduce the list. Wash, rinse, repeat. I admire the tactic. Now if we can just get the anti-hate speech laws to really crank up, we can live in a utopia.

Gotta love it. The carve-out for Mini-14 and M1A exists (as usual). Ruger and Springfield have to appreciate this. In general, it just shows the intellectual sparseness of gun control laws.
I was just thinking about unintended consequences with these sorts of approaches A few:
. I can imagine that whole world of straight pull and pump action AR-15s really taking off. They exist already, but there’s plenty more room in the ecosystem.
. More interest in shooting for distance…imagine the mayhem that’s built into a Ruger Precision Rifle.
. Mass production of black guns that aren’t based on a common military design. There are plenty out there. Maybe invent something new.
. More Massachussetts legal Mini-14s that look just like the scarier AR-15 variants.
. More interest in AK47 sporters (like the Saiga) and perhaps a nice looking AR-15 sporter. Esthetes will rejoice. (for Jon: think Mini-14 with AK guts)
. Magazine restrictions resulting in upgrade of size. 7.62 rifles get a new lease on life.
. Magazine restrictions resulting in shrinking of handguns. 10 round maximums lead you to single stack and/or shorter magazine 9mm handguns. Basically pushing the 9mm crowd into concealable weapons.
. Big rimfires come back. In a lot of Green Libertarian states, rimfires are treated differently. Well, they don’t have to be .22s

There was no weeping… Judge Young has been on the bottom rung of the federal judiciary for decades and ; this ruling is just one on the way to a revisiting by SCOTUS to sort out conflicting rulings.

Reading the judges ruling. it seems my AR10 would be legal. It’s not considered a weapon of war by definition. The AR15 was the result of downsizing the AR10.(original design)
I do believe I will get the conversion kit for my weapon just to get around the mandated assault weapon registration. I can then remove the stupid bullet button, and put the real one back in.
And what would really change the lethal effect? Not a damned thing.

A Board Member of a non profit is the governing body of that organization. They set policy and elect the chairman and hire the Executive Director. It’s unbelievable that they would allow Ted Nugent to continue to be part of the governing structure when he advocates shooting people like animals. Incredible to me me that you support this.
