Gregory thanks for the kudos. Linda/jon truly is a piece of work. Having someone like her on the Board having to do with our children is very scary. I attended her censure hearing after Linda/jon threatened the Tea Party gals. She was a chicken and did not show up for her just desserts.

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials announced this week that the four-day raid led to the arrest of 232 illegal immigrants in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Of those 232, 180 “were either convicted criminals, had been issued a final order of removal and failed to depart the United States, or had been previously removed” from the country and had come back illegally.
Another 115 “had prior felony convictions for serious or violent offenses.”
The numbers might have been greater, but for the intervention of Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, who tweeted out a warning of the impending raid, tipping off others who might have been caught.
Acting ICE Director Tom Homan said on “Fox & Friends” that Schaaf’s warning meant that there are roughly 800 illegal immigrants they were unable to locate.
“What she did is no better than a gang lookout yelling ‘police’ when a police cruiser comes in the neighborhood, except she did it to a whole community. This is beyond the pale,” he said.

Local pubbers alternately trash Obama (or Hillary or whomever) yet sing the cricket chorus about what is happening in real time with Trump et al. They like living in the past I would assume (preferably the 1950s, but any decade will do in a shitstorm).
The latest misinformation Trump and the Russian trolls are peddling is that Obama did not do enough about the Russians before the election so it is all Obama’s fault.
Maybe the following article will help explain things to our local pubber illuminati. Spoiler alert, the blame lies with the pubber (primarily Mitch McConnell’s) response to the Russian meddling. What were they afraid of?

re MaryW 830am – A most interesting and comprehensive piece by WaPo which describes a lot of high level intelligence activities in the Obama administration viz Russian interference in the 2016 election. Its obvious purpose is to show Team Obama as being aware, concerned, and engaged against Russia. However, what the careful reader will note is the absence of any evidence of Russian interference save the multiple restatements of the allegation that they did interfere in ways that mysteriously left no residue of detectable mediations or identifiable impacts on the election itself. The only ‘proof’ that WaPo and the Left have yet to offer about Russian interference is that Hillary was supposed to win, and so it must have been Russian interference that made her lose. Usually such apologetics are part and parcel of circular reasoning.
None of this says that Russians did not attempt to interfere, all countries do that in their national interest. But confusing evidence of attempts with evidence of achievement is all that the Left has been able to spread across the land.

Obama, the college Constitutional quasi-Lecturer toyed with the idea until some low level aid pointed out some vague prohibition from doing so in some obscure Amendment to the aforementioned Constitution. Something to do with the New Deal or that dark chapter when thousands of Americans of Japanese decent were rounded up and sent off to interment camps during WW2. That line about forever lightened the burden from my shoulders as my thoughts drifted to Bobbie instantaneously refilling his overdue freshly changed diaper and Morning Joe blowing his red red very red melon. Warmed the cockles of me weary heart. Then Trump put the icing on the cake that got all those popping heads going like a bag of Jiffy-Pop when he added that nobody does self deprecating humor better than he, which got me howling.
Life is splendid indeed.

“Nobody does self-deprecating humor better than I do,” said Trump, who skipped last year’s bash. He also said: “I was very excited to receive this invitation and ruin your evening in person. That’s why I accepted.”
—on his son-in-law: “We were late tonight because Jared could not get through security.”
—on Vice President Mike Pence: “He is one of the best straight men you’re ever going to meet … he is straight. Man.” Trump also said, “I really am proud to call him the apprentice ”
—on Attorney General Jeff Sessions: “I offered him a ride over and he recused himself. What are you going to do?”
—on The New York Times: “I’m a New York icon. You’re a New York icon. And the only difference is I still own my buildings.”
—on former chief strategist Steven Bannon: “That guy leaked more than the Titanic.”
—on the first lady: Trump said he doesn’t understand why everyone says #freemelania. He said she’s actually having a great time.
Toward the end of his comments, Trump couldn’t resist some of his favorite themes, revisiting his election night victory and chiding reporters to be fair.
He closed by saying: “I just want to say this, this is one of the best times I’ve had with the media — this might be the most fun I’ve had since watching your faces on election night.”

George 9:44 — The fact that you seem to pass off trump’s comment as a joke is as astonishing as him saying that in the first place. In case you all missed it, or more likely, don’t want to face up to the facts, trump was dead serious. He enjoys the power and attention. So rather than answer the question as to whether or not you want a president for life (maybe if it was trump) you deflect it with the usual babble.

Assault Rifles in Sweden???
“I’m gonna go to Sweden in a couple of weeks and lead the parade in Sweden through the Muslim ghetto… Because last year, you’ll remember that the Swedish authorities, the Swedish government, you know these far-left social justice lunatics who are trying to create a progressive paradise in Sweden, well I’ll tell you what a progressive paradise is like: A broke country where all the women get raped.
A year ago, Swedish authorities told a gay march off for being too unnecessarily provocative for marching through a Muslim area. Now to my mind, the point of gay pride was always to be brave and defiant in the face of hateful social conservatism, right? I thought that was it. That’s what they’re doing.
So I’m gonna go and I’m gonna be there in Sweden in a couple of weeks and march through this heavily Muslim area to remind people, and I hope it will remind people in Europe at least, what the problem is today.
“It’s not Buddhists, or Christians, or Zoroastrians, or Confucians, or even much blind Atheists. None of these people are taking to the streets with assault rifles to kill gays.
—————————-
Because it’s become dangerous to be gay again. Why? Islam. It hasn’t become physically dangerous to be gay in America because of evangelicals, because of Mormons, because of Zoroastrians. It’s not the fucking Buddhists, you know, that have got police out protecting gay pride marches.
“It is Islam, and that is the case everywhere you look in Europe where Islam has had a huge influx. It’s in Germany, it’s in Sweden… Malmo, now the rape capital of Europe. They attack women, they attack gays.” —-The Dangerous Faggot

I suppose that the most common answers for defacto dictator would be Lincoln and FDR. It speaks well for the system that it veered back towards the middle after both, although you can argue that they each had to keel over to cause that to happen. No doubt a serious war will do that to a President.
I do like George’s concept that there musta been Russkies because how else could Hillary have lost? When the fix is in, and it doesn’t happen, there has to be a scam somewhere.
I’m afraid the Doctor God Emperor For Life Trump will have to amp it up a bit to be considered a dictator. Merely shutting down a few Obama executive overreaches (DACA, parts of the healthcare bill, the odd bombing-for-no-good-reason), actually giving a crack at enforcing immigration law, tweaking in a few tariffs, shepherding a tax bill through Congress, etc. hardly constitutes dictatoring.
I’d say that the most valuable activity of this whole election cycle, aside from the occasional pussy grabbin’, has been the flushing out of the Left. It’s a heckuva lot more obvious now what they consider truly important.
