The leader of the socialists in the UK is a prototypical lefty, what about you?
The 68-year-old socialist has had something of a difficult week, with the revelations about Gourgel following revelations about meetings he had with a Communist spy during the Cold War — who claimed Corbyn acted as a paid informant codenamed ‘Cob’.
Mr Corbyn is already known to have taken money from a television network backed by the Islamic fundamentalist Iranian regime, and to have been supportive of the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) during its long terror campaign in Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Here’s a fresh kitty-crunchy authored by Jonathan Turley:
“Despite a 37-page indictment with a long narrative on a coordinated Russian campaign of interference, the most newsworthy fact comes from the carefully placed adjective “unwitting.” It confirms that the special counsel has found no knowing coordination or collusion between these hackers and Trump officials.”

No wonder Dr. Rebane closed his post “Our New Cannabis Ordinance – A Civil Approach” to comments. There is no civil approach, I reckon. Some folks just can’t handle it when things don’t go the way they want them to. Not very Nevada City friendly.
Careful out there, all ye who dare resist. Watch out for that mob mentality.

The Mueller indictments aren’t worth the paper they are written on. Not one of the 13 will face a trail, not one will be procesuted, not one will face any consequences as they are safely back home slamming shots of vodka and doing the ole Cassack Dance, aka, the Huskie Russkie Squat Dance celebrating the glorious victory for Mother Russia.
Noticec we have gone from Rooskies stealing the election for Trump, then to meddling, now somewhere between the two with the favorite phrase of the week, “interfering”. Something for Punchy to run amok with. He never quite grasped the meaning of the word “meddling”.

Here is one for the po’ ol’ fakenewsman-
In fact, he said, the majority of the Russian ad spending happened after the election — which “very few outlets have covered” because it “doesn’t align with the main media narrative.”
“The main goal of the Russian propaganda and misinformation effort is to divide America by using our institutions, like free speech and social media, against us. It has stoked fear and hatred amongst Americans. It is working incredibly well. We are quite divided as a nation,” he said.
“The single best demonstration of Russia’s true motives is the Houston anti-islamic protest. Americans were literally puppeted into the streets by trolls who organized both the sides of protest,” he said.
Goldman linked to a news story on how Russian online trolls organized both sides of an anti-Islam protest.
Breitbart News also found one of the ads mentioned in Mueller’s indictment, for an event called “Support Hillary. Save American Muslims,” showing that not all the ads were anti-Clinton and pro-Trump.

Yes, Bill, no wonder. 29 comments and the thread shut down. A new record.
The excuse was it was a sandbox type brawl but the truth is George, Bessee et al cannnot explain the unfair and biased proposed requirement that indoor hobby gardeners are forced to provide odor control filtration for their residential hobbies.
“Civil approach”? How about “bias” and “double standard” ?

Yes, it was Rich, but Mueller is Hoovering
In response, Dotcom tweeted “Let me assure you, the DNC hack wasn’t even a hack. It was an insider with a memory stick. I know this because I know who did it and why,” adding “Special Counsel Mueller is not interested in my evidence. My lawyers wrote to him twice. He never replied. 360 pounds!” alluding of course to Trump’s “400 pound genius” comment.

No Mary, the truth is it became a brawl. The pro dopers got personal, ugly (uglier than their usual reflection in a mirror) and uncivil. Don’t remember a big stink over dope heads usng indoor filtration systems….unless you are now using that as an excuse to justify such ghastly ant-social behavior. I thought wacky tobacco made dopers mellow. Learn something new everyday.

    Mary Wanna: “indoor hobby gardeners”
At the very least I would expect a disclosure on the indoor agriculture to any prospective buyer of the house. I can imagine the mold problems you would see with anything beyond a plant or three.
I suppose that the main problem with home marijuana growing is the riff-raff level that people would expect in that neighborhood. It’s not an entirely unfair characterization.

Oh, I gotta cut Mary Wanna some slack, not to diminish the seriousness of toxic mold to the basement dwellers and future homeowners. Nay, MW just is feeling deep anxiety this morning. Probably something to do with the parade yesterday.
This explains the ugliness here on the closed “civil discussion about growing marijuana” comments. It is a pheunomn that dates back many moons and is most interesting to observe. In fact, we witnessed this widespread mystery since Nov 10, 2016….er….make that we are still witnessing and documenting the outbreak.

Scientists warn of unusually cold Sun . . .
A study by the University of California San Diego has claimed that by 2050, the Sun is expected to become cool. You might think “what’s the big deal,” but remember that this means the solar activities that create the heat of the Sun to sustain life on Earth may diminish. And the last time it happened was in the 17th century when the Thames River froze. Scientists call this the “Maunder Minimum”.
Physicist Dan Lubin at the university and his team studied the past event and concluded that we are in for a worse case. The Sun is expected to get much dimmer than last time and, in scientific terms, it is a “grand minimum” — a time period in the 11-year solar cycle when the solar activities are at the lowest point.
According to the study, titled Ultraviolet Flux Decrease Under a Grand Minimum from IUE Short-wavelength Observation of Solar Analogs and published in the journal Astrophysical Journal Letters, this grand minimum will be 7 percent cooler than such periods from the past.

That has nothing to do with any public discourse anywhere else.
Fear mongers are now talking mold issue disclosures. Double standard. What about all the shade tree mechanics dumping motor oil and homeowner painters dumping solvents into the backyard of their rental or personal real estate. Nothing new here.

Oh Todd, at least old fart Boardman is consistent. He is just keeping the ole evil eye on us because he just knows we want to take away his food stamps and cut off his healthcare…..leaving him to die in torment and obscurity.
    Food stamps and care packages.
Before and after the Great Depression, and going into the Dust Bowl, there were no food stamps. Think it was Hoover who believed it would be a slippery slope for Government to give out food. Open a pandora’s box. So, the government gave seed packets to the Red Cross or the like, which in turn distributed them to families with a plot of land, I.e., poor hungry deplorables. The seeds were greatly appreciated by some. Guess folks were more patient then, before the age of instant gratification.
So, the Trump USDA is looking for ways to save money. Buy food wholesale, send it to SNAP receiptants, and more bang for the buck cause people buy food with SNAP at retail. Send them a big box of food in lieu of half (50%) of one’s monthly allotment, food stamps and put the other half on the ET? Card.
I oppose. Just an idea being kicked around. No chips, no candy bars, just meat and potatoes stuff. Rice and beans, beans and rice. A box of staples assumes people actually spend time preparing meals…cooking. Then there are the shipping costs, which will be good for the USPO which will be given the contract. It’s in the mail.
There are a lot of “displaced” on food stamps. Soaking beans overnight or slow steaming/cooking omg brown rice ain’t going to happen. Not even take-bake for some.

MaryW 856am – Ms Wanna, this time you miss so many points that it is embarrassing to respond if we consider that you are an educated adult, however, the source of your education may help mitigate matters.
First, let me dissuade you from the notion that there exist policy issues that cannot be discussed on RR to the fullest extent possible. Your bringing up the well-known MJ odor nuisance is such an issue.
Second, you either don’t read well or seek to substitute snark for a well-formed comment. I made it clear that the reason I closed the commentary’s comment stream is that commenters ceased discussing the MJ ordinance topic and reverted to ad hominem mud-slinging. For those who still read, the record of that dissonant thread is still there for inspection and assessment.
Finally, the MJ ordinance topic will continue to be discussed here long and hard, as it should be. Everyone’s views on the topic, including yours, are always welcome sans the degeneration into name calling, or disparaging someone because they happened to support a position or a defeated initiative. Stick to the merits of your arguments, and do your best to understand and/or explain why ‘this is like that’ or ‘this is not like that’. There already exist nuisance odor regulations/codes/laws. Your equating America’s traditional and culturally embedded neighborhood BBQ smells with the stench of MJ is more than somewhat gratuitous, and it needs an expanded support argument. Are you qualified to formulate such an argument?
And as a matter of online semantics, posted topics that welcome comments are followed by ‘comment streams’ – the entire sequence of comments that are displayed below a post. However, any given comment stream may consist of one or more ‘comment threads’ – comments, often interlaced with other comment threads, that focus on a specific topic or sub-topic which attracts interested commenters who enter and leave the thread at will. Therefore, taxonomically a single comment stream can have multiple threads – bottom line, don’t confuse ‘streams’ with ‘threads’
On RR I have tried to enforce the policy that under my commentaries, when an ad hominem thread develops and dominates the stream, then I close the stream to save readers from having to wade through crap in hopes of finally discovering someone again saying something cogent. To provide a vehicle (receptacle?) for the crap, among other legitimate topics not covered or yet to be covered, RR provides sandboxes, such as the present one, which allow commenters so disposed to vent.

    The worm turns?
In his revised standing order issued on Friday, Sullivan dropped a lengthy footnote, detailing the case law and setting forth his position that, if material exculpatory evidence is withheld during plea negotiations, a defendant is entitled to withdraw his guilty plea.
Flynn’s attorneys now know what to do should Mueller’s team disclose such evidence. After the spanking Sullivan gave the prosecutors in the Stevens case, Mueller is on notice as well.

    Oh Mary, Mary, quite contrary:
Fear mongers now talking toxic mold? What, one commentator? Two? I know a standing house right now (vacant) that the only real solution to the toxic mold is to burn it to the ground. Got out of control. Don’t want those spores anywhere in the neighborhood if they try to tear it down and haul it away.
Best way to get rid of nuisance cars is to have the County EPA folks come over and probe for a drop of anti-freeze. That how they shut down the old backyard junk yards in our neck of the woods. Placer County got rid of too many cars parked in the front yard that way. Heck, remember when People’s Mountain Warehouse had like 2 gallons or maybe it was 2 1/2 quarts of anti-freeze spill. Made the front page of the Union more than just for a day or three, the Rapid Response Team dispatched, place taped off like a crime scene, lol.
Remember the anti-freeze in the dog food from China? Or was that lead paint on toddlers’ toys? They took the guy who ran the factory and executed him the next day for embarrsssing the Socialist Maoist State. Anti-freeze is bad juju, but toxic mold is 93 times worse.

BAD NEWS FOR COMEY, MCCABE, STRZOK, ET. AL.: Attorney General Jeff Sessions told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo that the Department of Justice is investigating the FBI’s failure to notify the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court that its warrant application to surveil Trump campaign volunteer Carter Page was based on material paid for by Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee. PaulE 1259pm – my pleasure will come when I see the utility function the court used to redraw the district boundaries. It is complex problem on which I have commented, and which you may want to get informed lest we start prematurely celebrating Simple Simon solutions. The notion that there are any ‘absolutely objective’ district boundaries is naive – they intrinsically will favor one side or the other. To date these have always been (re)drawn by the party in power to favor itself. Today the Dems (and their lackeys) are teaching the neurochallenged (love that term) that only the Repubs gerrymander. This will get you some perspective –

My response to the Bednars attack on McClintock in the Union.
More propaganda from the left. McCarthy was found to be right after the fall of the USSR but of course his tactics were not so sweet. The democrats were all in for sympathy for the commies up until they fell apart in 1989. So the commies saw a spot to move to and Gorby became a “environmentalist” Go green, go commie.
McClintock is a true valuable American representaive. If he did not serve in the military he joins Obama and Bernie and Clinton in that. Have I seen you try and shut them up by calling them names? Nope.
The tax reform will benefit middle class Americans and is already doing so. The left simply thinks all money is theirs and they “let” us keep some once in a while. Republicans know the money is ours. Big difference.
Koch Brothers? They are mostly libertarian and did not endorse Trump. And they are truly all-American. They make billions becasue they are smart businessmen and employ hundreds of thousands of fellow citizens. How many employees do you have bub?
