Concerning priorities, I have long held that it’s not about whether illegal immigrants are good people but about whether our laws are enforced and our borders are protected.
Concerning layers of HRC’s deceit, Wikipedia reports that “As determined by Disney, “A” attractions were the smallest or least popular…” I suspect that you meant “an E ticket ride,” Don.

I agree with the Warrior Monk on this one,100%. Out of the 700,000 or so DACAs, there are 800 willing to fight and die for our country. It is only fair. The few, the brave, our comrades in arms.

I’d rather zero out welfare and other government benefits for non-citizens. But since that is politically difficult…..democrat bribes need to be administered both prior to, as well as during voting cycles. The wall should probably be built as a symbol if nothing else.
    Trump misses the boat again and none of the 58 Cali county sheriffs will obey ICE;
No animal as greasy and political as the sheriff of a progressive city…..they know who “butters their bread”.
Something to do with the corrupt nature of progressivism as practiced today.

Not our problem…..tell them to take it up with the Germans.

Well, if the fake baseless Russian Collusion story can’t take down Trump, #MeToo will try to get the job done. More hearings!
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) said Sunday she believes Congress should hold President Trump accountable for the numerous allegations of sexual misconduct leveled against him.
“I think he should resign, and if he’s unwilling to do that, which is what I assume, then Congress should hold him accountable. We’re obligated to have hearings,” Gillibrand said in an interview with CBS’s “60 Minutes.”

    #Metoo champion?
Of course, while she may have been “among the first” that wasn’t her initial reaction. When several women accused Franken, she initially said she found the accusations “deeply concerning,” and that she expected, “to hear more from Sen. Franken.” Weeks later, on November 30th, after saying that Bill Clinton should have resigned, the Senator was again asked if Franken should resign. She responded by saying, “It’s his decision.”
By December 5th, coming up on a month after the story began and five women had come forward, Gillibrand was given another bite at the apple and had no comment beyond, “I’m not going to say that today.” Of course, she eventually did come out and call for him to resign, but many of her colleagues expressed remorse over the move.

While everyone gives deference to Auschwitz survivors for their accounts of the Holocaust, there is no parallel between German Nazis and the ICE to be drawn; arresting illegal aliens to repatriate them to the country of their origin safely isn’t th same as rounding up innocents to be gassed.

The not so PC Olympics and gawkers vs #Metoo:
First, we have been told repeatedly that a woman’s true worth is not her sex appeal. It’s wtong wrong wtong to gawk and gaze on a woman’s body, aka, the objectification of the fairer sex. Ok, no problem with that.
But, here comes the Tongo man, all shirtless and oiled up. Girls….er…females going wild touching him, runnng their hands over his oiled body, cooing over his physique, giggling, fawning, taking selfies, ….you get the point.
Not to be outdone, here comes BuzzFeed with the top 11 luge bulges (huge luges) that should “win Gold Metals.” I will not post the link, but will tell the reader that no Americans made the list.
Now Kim Kardashian is all upset that the other Kim (Kim Jong Un’s sister) has stolen the spotlight from her. Alas. The press is gushing over the North Korean Minister of Propaganda and Agitation. The Gulag Queen. She is friggin Gerbel, yet the press loves her. Sounds about right. Finally, the easily offended and even easier manipulated PC Social Justice media is being consistent. The cost of the Wall would pay for itself in just one year if you offset the costs of giving illegals tax payed funded safety net freebies (including education) and, of course, incarceration costs. 23% of all inmates in the Federal Prison System are illegals. Illegals have a higher criminal rate than lawful immigrants or the general population at large.
Sure, every country, population, and demographic has its criminal element. Every one. If say for sake of agrument, 10% of illegals are criminals. Say, building the Wall only stops only 10% of the illegal aliens trying to break into our country. That means we just reduced crime. With 2,300 illegal aliens in the CA prison system doing time for homicide, that alone means we just saved 23 Americans from being murdered. Now, say the Wall stops 40-50% of the illegals crossing via the overland route. More lives saved, more money saved.
There is no such thing as a law abiding illegal alien by definition. There is such a thing as legal immigrants, be they law abiding or not. Gotta start somewhere.

Well, not exactly. The La Raza group the judge belonged to was San Diego La Raza Lawyers. While not the main La Raza, it still translates to ‘the race’ or ‘the people’ and I’m going to guess anyone clueless enough to found a “Nevada County White Race Lawyers” would be called racist from the get-go.
Remember, racism isn’t really racism if white people aren’t the racists.
Now, Trump U was a rotten deal but if anyone gave Trump U money thinking it was a real university deserved to get their money taken. Caveat emptor.

Posted by: George Rebane | 12 February 2018 at 11:48 AM – The wall is working fine. Somebody tell Trump.
“Apprehensions of unaccompanied children so far in 2016 are similar to the first six months of 2014. When looking at where unaccompanied children are from, there have been substantially more apprehensions among those from Guatemala (9,383) and El Salvador (7,914) than Honduras (4,224) during the first six months of fiscal 2016. In 2014, Honduras was the leader in the number of unaccompanied minors apprehended.
U.S. government officials have started to prepare for a possible increase in migration from Central America this summer. For example, the Department of Health and Human Services has requested additional contingency funding from Congress to shelter apprehended children. In addition, the governor of Texas extended the deployment of the state’s National Guard at the border with Mexico in December, which coincided with a spike that month in border apprehensions.”

I’m not sure what relevance to reality the info you linked have to Trump in generall and The Wall in particular…
What do border apprehension of “Mexican Citizens” per 100,000 of Mexicans in Mexico through 2016 have to do with Trump and The Wall? Or an increase of unaccompanied minors forecast from Central America before Trump took office?
Just comparing writing styles, I have to ask… are you Michael P. Anderson of Nevada City?

xeno 411pm – I’m not sure you understand the Pew data. Apprehensions represent a very small fraction (5-10% by one count) of the number of illegal entrants who disappear into our country’s ethnic societies. And there are a number of reasons having to do with Border Patrol operations why apprehensions vary, none of which have much to do with the number of people crawling under/over the fence. That information comes directly from the BP itself.

Drugs in the White House! Cocaine, LSD, and smoking crack in the White House.
Some things don’t change with the Dems:
“We cannot do business here with a speaker of the House who is going to engage in these kinds of unfounded allegations,” fumed Leon Panetta, the White House chief of staff. He lashed Gingrich for “behaving like an out-of-control radio talk-show host,” for making an “absolutely false” accusation, for trafficking in “smear and innuendo.”
Clinton adviser George Stephanopoulos labeled Gingrich “irresponsible.” Hillary Clinton: “So unfair.” Press Secretary Dee Dee Myers: “Reckless charges.”
The media agreed. Panetta’s heated denunciations were played up big. Few reporters paused to wonder if the gentleman did protest too much — or if Gingrich’s tip bore looking into. On dozens of editorial pages, there were comparisons to the most infamous demagogue in American history. The Georgia Republican’s words, said Newsday, were “laced with the kind of innuendo that fueled McCarthy’s witchhunt.” Herblock, the Washington Post’s venerable cartoonist, portrayed Gingrich as McCarthy, cruelly blackening reputations with a broad brush.
Now, 19 months later, it turns out that Gingrich was basically telling the truth and Panetta was lying through his teeth. Shouldn’t last week’s stories have so noted? It isn’t every day that Secret Service agents give evidence under oath of a widespread history of “cocaine usage … hallucinogenic usages, crack usages” among White House employees. Did no reporter remember how Gingrich had been vilified when he raised the subject a year and a half earlier?“

The Susan Rice e-mail to herself on Inauguration Day is weirdo stuff. Smells fishy at first glance, if not downright lame, amateurish, and like playing hide-n-seek with a child who giggles behind the curtain when you walk by looking for her playing the game. Lame.
She is vacating her office, post, and work computer in a couple of hours and never coming back.. No means to retrieve her e-mail or get back into that server, leaving the last thing (or first thing) for the new Administration and holdovers to find. She wanted to put something in the record that happened 2 weeks earlier. Weirdo stuff.
Opening paragraph.: “President Obama began the conversation by stressing his continued commitment to ensuring that every aspect of this issue is handled by the Intelligence and law enforcement communities ‘by the book’. The President stressed that he is not asking about, initiating or instructing anything from a law enforcement perspective. He reiterated that our law enforcement team needs to proceed as it normally would by the book.”

A truly great interview on NPR yesterday morning, a cognitive scientist (the real thing) on early reading. A snippet from the transcript:
“Success in reading depends on linking print to speech. There’s a massive amount of behavioral research, neuroimaging research, on brain organization and brain development, which conclusively shows that skilled reading is associated with children’s spoken language, grammar and the vocabulary they already know. It’s about teaching kids the correspondence between the letters on a page and the sounds of words.”
-“And you’re saying that teachers don’t know this?”
“This basic science does not go into the preparation of teachers. More often they’re told it’s not really relevant, that the science is sterile and has no connection with what teachers do in the classroom.
What I point out in the book is that in order to grasp the research, [teachers] need basic scientific literacy to be able to understand it. They can dismiss [what I’m saying] or they can share my outrage … The reading wars are over and science lost. Phonics is just one specific component of learning to read that’s important at a particular point in a child’s development. The reading wars did not focus on this, so the conflict was set up in a bogus way.”

Dr Rebane @ 10:48am…..the Susan Rice selfie e-mail
    The second part:
“The President asked Comey to inform him if anything changes in the next few weeks that should affect how we share classified information with the incoming team. Comey said he would.”
Comey said he would. Jan 5, 2017.
So, Obama knew, Sally Yates knew, Rice knew, Clapper knew, Joe Biden knew, the NYT knew, Comey knew, Lynch had to know about the “wiretapping” of Trump into Russian Collusion.
That date is significant because this meeting took place the day before Comey and the FBI visited Trump Tower to brief the president-elect on the investigation and the dossier, which had already been used to justify surveillance of Trump’s campaign. As Rice indicates, the meeting participants debated what and how much to tell Trump — Obama wanted to hide some things.
“Comey said he would.” Hmmm. Ok, let’s get a bigger picture. There is no one to investigate what happened. Count on the FBI investigate itself? Justice Department? No, Sessions recused himself. The CIA? Nope, no prosecutorial power.
Who then is left to investigate except Mueller? Who besides another Special Counsel? Answer: nobody.

Jo Ann and I ran across ‘How to teach your baby to read’ by Glenn Doman when our kids were pre-kindergarten (mid 60s). I recall that it blew us away with its cited results. We immediately set to work following its methodology. All the kids were proficient readers when they entered kindergarten. It was then that we first subscribed to Reader’s Digest which was recommended as a solid reading source for young readers. I was amazed to find that the book is still in print, and now has companion ‘How to teach your baby xx’ volumes.
The methodology involved making large cardboard placards, each with a single word on it, and easy for kids with developing motor skills to handle. It was no time until the kids each in turn started ‘writing’ sentences on the rug with their cardboard words. The words and the alphabet letters were taught concurrently – words initially were pattern recognized, and then analyzed into their individual letters as the alphabet was mastered. The whole process was fun and made more so as each kid started reading stuff on everything from cereal boxes to road signs to newspapers. Heady stuff for a three-year-old.
