—-Goodie, Todd is here. Saw this one and thought of you, Big Guy. 😉

    —-Year in Review, prematurely
What a year it had been. Workplace sexual harassment made a bunch of headlines recently as the floodgates have been opened. Of all the stories and volumes of opinions, I liked Sarah Palin’s comment the best.
“As the allegations against Democratic U.S. Sen. Al Franken broke on Thursday, an MSNBC reporter asked Palin, “Have you ever experienced sexual harassment in the workplace as a ambitious woman in public life?”
According to multiple news reports, Palin replied: “You know, I think a whole lot people know that I’m probably ‘packing’ – so, I don’t think there’s a whole lot of people who would necessarily mess with me.”——Sac Bee, 11/17/2017

Every problem has a solution. Or, as an old Chinese adage goes, “If there is no solution, then there is no problem.”

“Mr. Cuomo, a possible presidential contender, said the move was aimed at protecting residents from the “divisive” Trump administration’s tax law that is an “economic dagger targeted for the heart” of New York. It could increase the amount of federal taxes paid by New Yorkers by $14 billion, Mr. Cuomo said during a conference call with reporters.”
Hilarious – Now the Dems are crying about increased taxes on the wealthy.
Ah – because they won’t get the money.
    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/22/nyregion/cuomo-assist-as-homeowners-rush-to-prepay-property-tax-bill.html
Has anyone in the press thought about the fact that the new tax laws actually eliminate unfairness?
Shouldn’t everyone in the same income bracket pay the same in fed income tax?

Oh goodie, The Reckoning will continue. I love watching Trump Derangement Syndrome in live action and in Technicolor. So vivid.
“No other idea, whether it’s Bernie Sanders’ Free Stuff agenda, or the racial-ethnic-gender quota-spoils dreams of DNC boss Tom Perez, can match the fervor of the hate-Trump movement. It’s the straw stirring the drink.
Which is what makes it so dangerous. Never in modern times has a major party used impeachment as a pure political weapon.
Yet, assuming Mueller comes up with nothing significant, that’s exactly what Democrats are planning. They will try to win with impeachment what they lost at the ballot box, effectively nullifying the 2016 election.
Which brings me to my final prediction: If you think our politics are nasty now, just wait a few months. The midterm campaign is going to be vicious and dirty beyond belief.”

Just to let you know how Steve Bannon views Trump supporters according to an interview in Vanity Fair. “the hobbits or the deplorables” and how he views Trump, Trump is “like an 11-year-old child.” Isn’t it nice to know how much they really care. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Speech restriction and innovation. Interesting angle.
“According to Altman, innovative ideas like SpaceX and Bitcoin might not have gotten off the ground if they were brought forward in 2017. SpaceX, he writes, might be blasted for catering to the one percent; and Bitcoin might be considered “crazy and too dangerous.”

from St Paul:”Here’s a reminder to Trump from one of my favorite Gospel songs…”
And why didn’t St Paul remind Obama and Hillary of the same?
Because St Paul fell for their BS. And now he’s too embarrassed to admit it.
Did you get the check for $2500 from Obama along with your free health care, Paul?

Is God dead? As Mark Twain once famously put it: The news of my death is somewhat premature.

re the CNN article by Costello. My mother taught me good manners in a way that Ms Costello never was. When I was a child and I came across something I didn’t like (food, music, movie, person, whatever) she let me understand that the proper way to handle the situation was to say “I don’t care for that” and move on. As I grew older I found that if others liked what I didn’t, I should accept that as I would want them to accept that I liked things they didn’t.
Ms Costello is mostly afraid of strong women that don’t agree with her politically.
I would ask Ms Costello to explain what the word ‘retire’ means in regards to a movie.
Would Ms Costello take kindly to some one asking her to ‘retire’ from writing?
Ah, but that’s different, isn’t it?

    Remember this?
” EPA regulations are based on secret data developed in the 1990s”
AH yes.. “secret science.” ( Only Proggys can see it.. You know,, like secret, imaginary friends)
” On another front, the Environmental Protection Agency never complied with a congressional subpoena for the data used to justify most Obama administration air quality rules.”
OHHhh.. But the the LIBS throw tantrums against Trump and what he does.

“You voted for Trump and don’t care if he lies.”
    Any proof of that, Paul?
And it depends on what you call a lie.
‘Didn’t vote for’ is not much condemnation. In fact none at all.
Trump is pretty open about what he is. I don’t much care for him as a person, but that’s not what I voted for. And there is never any guarantee of what happens once they are in office. We’re getting the best judges in ages and a halt to the idiocy of AGM-driven corporatism and cronyism. There is more of the rule of law instead of the rule of man. He isn’t doing enough to get rid of all of the arms of the fed govt that have no place in DC. The depts of Education and Labor the EPA and much of other depts need to be done away with at the federal level. The states already have most all of that handled.
At least we didn’t get a person who is a lie, through and through. A money grubbing little shrew that would destroy anybody and anything to claw her way into power. Good riddance.

    Here’s a skreed from Pelline… I can’t wait:

In my 58 years, I have lived all over (L.A., S.F., Chicago, Denver, Houston and Miami and these cities’ outlying areas) and traveled all over (multiple cities in Europe, Asia, Australia, including Tasmania, New Zealand, South America), I have two college degrees (Cal, Northwestern), helped start an IPO business, worked at a big metro daily, interviewed Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Frank Borman and homeless people, volunteered for nonprofits, etc., and I have rarely encountered the intransigent, recalcitrant ideology (“state of mind” if you will) as the small cabal in western Nevada County, CA. It is a little hotbed of political extremism and anti-global warming activists. Home to Mark Meckler! It sometimes verges on fictional (i.e., you can’t make this stuff up). And it’s set in my native California, no less. This is why I am serious about a book called “State of Jefferson.” I know Tom Wolfe would do the best (“A Man in Full” or “Electric Kook-Aid Acid Test”), but the content is there for anyone, juxtaposing our “SOJ” and “state of mind” with the rest of California. On the other hand, it’s such a damn nice place to live! And really, this little group is small and getting smaller — it’s almost becoming a “case study” more than anything else. It has been a good learning experience for our son. I’m not sure he would come back though, just like his friends and many other youth. In that sense, I worry about our community’s future.

Imagine, Jeff will be writing a book! Finally, his two (TWO!) college degrees (from Berkeley and Northwestern no less, no need to say what he studied!!) will be put to work.
I suppose I’ll take solace from his splitting “political extremism” from “global warming activism”.

Ear to the ground. Pot being dumped for $250/pound (outdoor) on the Ridge, except the sympathy buys to help a brother out. Best to keep your doors tightly locked and guns loaded. Low life dope peddlers are getting desperate and they will be coming out of the woods and heading for the lights….
And lock your vehicles as well. Might be a long winter. Baby, it’s getting cold outside.

Opps, make that….. few buyers except for the sympathy buys. That’s what happens when theire are more peddlers than takers. Like having 170 plumbers living in the little town of Washington. It’s a dog eat dog world out there. Free market and all that stuff. If they ever do unionize the industry, hope the workers get paid enough to cover the dues.
In other local news, this one made me smile. Got a big soft spot for the man.
3:16 p.m. — A caller from the 700 block of East Main Street reported a man with a bright yellow bike looking in windows; it was just Kenny and he was OK.

That’s the spirit! Always a silver lining. Like taking solace from splitting “Todd’s penis” from “Trump lied.” Or from Bush Derangement Syndrome from TDS. Hmmm. Does TDS stand for Todd Derangement Syndrome or Trump Derangement Syndrome? No matter, it’s a nice change of topic, however nuanced. Variety is the spice of life.
