   Maybe ‘idiots’ was not a strong enough of a characterization. No progressive understands what current gun laws are and how they are not being enforced. That’s the reason they light off with the same monotonous refrain of demanding more gun laws instead of acknowledging that the latest massacre was perpetrated by someone violating laws already on the books, that if enforced would have prevented the terror.

   Ron Lowe, bless his heart, is not firing on all thrusters. A very old and crippled hippy, he’s a sandwich short of a picnic. He means well but has limited contact with people who don’t think like he does (and that can be read a couple different ways). I remember talking to him after one rant of his on The Union letter page about the continuing Arab-Israeli crisis and told him about Golda Meir’s suggestion that there will be peace when Palestinians love their children more than they hate Jews, and Ron had never heard that one.

   I don’t know the gentleman who wrote that, but he’s either lying through his teeth or totally ignorant of the facts involving illegal immigration.
   I wonder what his reaction would be if he had to talk to a non-white person in the US who had to immigrate legally?
   Ron Lowe is a known character who has contributed his thoughts (I’m being charitable) for many years to the Union.
   As I pointed out previously, the topic of fire arm violence seems to cause the cessation of grey cell activity in the parts of the brain where reasoning and logic are formed.
   And remember folks – the govt schools have a near lock on turning out folks like this generation after generation.

    Gee – where are our resident lefties? Maybe Paul is busy looking for a poll on the subject.
    I’d thought for sure there would be some knight in shining armor on the left to spring to the defence of those letter writers.
    Let us not forget Rick Marshall’s recent piece on gun control: “However, certain types of guns have the ability to kill many people in an extremely short time, and they have no other purpose. These weapons should not be in the hands of anyone except military and law enforcement personnel.”
    Many?
    Like 5 or 6?
    “…an extremely short time”.
    If it takes longer, it’s OK?
    So – what is the acceptable kill rate that would make Rick Marshall happy?
    I’m telling you, folks – gun violence seems to cause normal folks to completely lose all intelligence and turn them into jabbering idiots.

    You got it, skippy – there’s simply no other purpose.
    Maybe now this fool can explain how law abiding Americans have used them for decades firing millions of rounds and harmed absolutely no one.
    They do have a purpose, Rick. Several, actually.
