[Begrudgingly many are now acknowledging that Trump had a good trip to the Far East.  More people now understand that America has its own interests topmost, and considers it a good thing if everyone recognizes and admits that they too have their countries' interest come first.  It cuts out a lot of the bullshit when people meet to make deals on stuff like trade and national security.  Maybe the new paradigm will be named the Trumpian Schools of Diplomacy.  gjr]

I guess my “old” truck is an acceptation to the rule.
    I drive a 2002 Chevy 4×4. It’s been pretty much problem free.
(water pumps on most chevys are done at 150 thou. that was no real surprise)
Still looks great despite two seasons driving on logging roads
and hard work. Nope no garage queen either.
The engine is still fine shape as well, and gets better millage than the 05 Grand Cherokee,(in the shop for a blown head gasket.)
Lets see elec. keep up with that.

The ACLU statement … from an ACLU address:

We oppose this rule because it advances and reinforces the harmful stereotype that people with mental disabilities, a vast and diverse group of citizens, are violent and should not own a gun. There is no data to support a connection between the need for a representative payee to manage one’s Social Security disability benefits and a propensity toward gun violence. The rule further demonstrates the damaging phenomenon of “spread,” or the perception that a disabled individual with one area of impairment automatically has additional, negative and unrelated attributes. Here, the rule automatically conflates one disability-related characteristic, that is, difficulty managing money, with the inability to safely possess a firearm. The rule includes no meaningful due process protections prior to the SSA’s transmittal of names to the NICS database. The determination by SSA line staff that a beneficiary needs a representative payee to manage their money benefit is simply not an “adjudication” in any ordinary meaning of the word. Nor is it a determination that the person “[l]acks the mental capacity to contract or manage his own affairs” as required by the NICS. Indeed, the law and the SSA clearly state that representative payees are appointed for many individuals who are legally competent.

Well, Keach… how about a mea culpa by you on the record. The rule passed by Congress and signed by Pres. Trump didn’t allow the mentally ill to buy guns. Yes?

Good GOD almighty! Hillary is really getting pitiful these days.
” Friday, Clinton claimed “there are lots of questions about its legitimacy” because of Russian interference efforts and alleged voter suppression. She said the Russian “disinformation campaign…wasn’t just influencing voters, it was determining the outcome.” ”
Russians? It was fine when she was colluding with them.
“Clinton also blamed voter ID laws and “obstacles” to voter registration for her losses in states like Wisconsin, a place she failed to campaign in.”
What? It was too hard to get the dead and illegals to vote?

Accusations against Our Gropper in Chief are making a comeback. This is just a sampler:
Women who accused President Trump of sexual misconduct are speaking out, saying they feel like their stories were forgotten after the election.
“I feel like we were forgotten about and there was no justice,” Melinda McGilivray, who accused Trump of groping her at Mar-a-Lago in 2003, told People magazine.

No wonder Senate Minority Leader Chuckie The Clown immediately called for an Senate Ethics Committee investigation of Franken. Makes perfect sense. They used to say (when (Willy Mays played),”centerfield is where fly balls go to die.” Senate Ethics Investigations is where ethics violations go to die. For the past ten years, the Ethics Committee has not issued one single sanction against any senator they have investigated.
“Take, for example, the salacious allegations against former Sen. David Vitter, R-La., who was publicly linked to the leader of a prostitution ring. The ethics committee dismissed a complaint against Vitter in 2008, in part because it happened before he was elected.”

You forget your history, don’t you? Remeber when the feds wanted to have the luxury tx on yachts many years ago? And then the “rich” stopped buying them. And who got hurt? Not the rich but the people building the yachts! It was not long after that they removed the tax. Unintended consequences are what you get if you don’t think things out. You don’t think critically.

Paul, from the link provided to substantiate your indigence over private jet owners getting a tax break:

“The language would exempt owners or leasers of private aircraft from paying taxes on certain costs related to the upkeep and maintenance of the jets, according to a description from the Joint Committee on Taxation.
Applicable services include support activities related to the aircraft itself, such as its storage, maintenance, and fueling, and those related to its operation, such as the hiring and training of pilots and crew, as well as administrative services such as scheduling, flight planning, weather forecasting, obtaining insurance, and establishing and complying with safety standards,” it says.

First, all the jobs mentioned above are middle to lower middle class jobs. No one gets rich being a lineboy (refueling aircraft)… and what it looks to be doing is equalizing shared ownership companies like NetJets with the taxes paid by traditional corporate ownership by really big companies: they don’t pay taxes on internal spending. It’s overhead expenses of keeping the asset usable and airworthy, not a value added. And most all the money goes into blue and pink collar paychecks, including the pilots.
I get it though… private jets are such an extravagance when there’s the Grayhound bus terminal and Amtrak stations across the country.
I did cross a NetJets pilot picket line once in good conscience: it was at Las Vegas Henderson Airport (a National Business Aviation Ass’n convention was in Vegas and Henderson is the bizjet airport) where my single engine piston aircraft was tied down less than half the time… I got a laugh out of my fellow pilots by saying I was so poor I had to fly my own plane by myself. None of them were rich either.
