[Lots to talk about, but my attention is still on education which for the average American student is getting dicier by the year.  Here is a bit on the new fad of dual enrollment programs which have high school seniors taking courses also form local community colleges, the longer term benefit of which has yet to be demonstrated.  gjr]

Debbie wants her laptop back real bad, Susan Rice is branded a liar everywhere she goes, Huma had 1,400 State Department e-mails and stuff on Carlos Danger’s laptop, Comey colluded to make sure Hillary waked, Obama really was bugging Trump Towers by corrupting out Intel apparatus, and now that wack job wingnut Congresswoman with her ever present dime store plastic cowboy hat is replacing Aunt Maxiepad as the face and voice of the Democrat Party. Man, she looks like an over the hill street hooker. Will wonders never cease.

“Just think, in the last few weeks the Left has ruined the NFL, late night TV, and the Boy Scouts. In the last few years they’ve severely damaged campus free speech and academic freedom, the private health care market, military readiness, and local law enforcement. Their judges have seized control over immigration, aspects of national security, and marriage. Meanwhile, the Left is increasingly violent (Antifa, Black Lives Matter, etc.) and the media are increasingly brazen in their leftist propagandizing and cheerleading. It seems to me the rest of us should be taking a knee to protest this insanity.”

More from the New York Post. Corruption in the Tower of Power.
    http://nypost.com/2017/10/17/fbi-uncovered-russian-bribery-plot-before-controversial-nuclear-deal/
Don’t hold your breath waiting for the Clinton Foundation to return the 142 million the Russians funneled to the Foundation after the TWO deals went down.
“The feds also learned that Russian nuclear officials had gotten millions of dollars into the US designed to benefit the Clinton Foundation at the same time then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton served on a government committee that signed off on the deals, sources told The Hill.
When Donald Trump slammed Clinton on the campaign trail in 2016 over the sale, her spokesman said she was not involved in the committee review and that the State Department official who handled it said she “never intervened . . . on any [committee] matter.”
Hmm. Served on the committee that approved the deal while Sec of State. Says it wasn’t me, it was the committee that I served on and had no involvement with that is responsible for What Happened. Priceless. Classic Clinton…..and Obama.

Freaky Frederica. Let’s look at Big Red Fred Riding Hood’s record, shall we. Actions speak louder than words. With friends like that, who needs enemas?
“It turns out that U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson has frequently voted against measures intended to help veterans and their families, according to VoteSmart.org, a vote-tracking site whose founding board members included former presidents Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford.
The measures that Wilson opposed included a bill that could have ensured that families of four soldiers slain in Afghanistan in 2013 received death and burial benefits.
Despite Wilson’s claim to be “committed to honoring our service members, not only with words but with deeds,” she has voted against most bills ensuring continued funding for veteran benefits, including payments to widows of fallen soldiers, the vote-tracking site shows.
She has also opposed measures designed to improve the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Liberals just are a bit too late on this one.
One can always depend on a liberal to try and change the meaning of a word or activity to suit their bias. The horse is out of the barn and America has decided these players are disrespecting the flag and the anthem and the country. You can flap you gums all you want but the facts are against your position. Larive was spot on. The players don’t even know what they are protesting as we have seen that evolve as the pressure on them has increased. And there is no “free speech” rights as a employee in America. The First Amendment is there to keep the government from abridging that right. Not a private employer. Liberals are reacting emotionally not factually. The facts are against the allegations of cops hunting blacks and killing them in disproportionate numbers. The FBI statistics prove otherwise. And by a huge margin. As far as racial issues in society? Look at the statistics and then answer the question. Why are 40-50 percent of all inmates in America from the African-American race? They are only 13% of the population. Could it be they are committing the crimes and are being arrested for them? And then prosecuted? And most of the crime is against other African-Americans. Of course just for writing that I will be attacked but I don’t care. The facts back me up. So instead of kneeling against the greatest, freest country on the planet, these players should fan out into the inner cities and help their fellow people. But that is not what liberals do. They just complain and divide us.

Bill O’Reilly’s take on the kerfuffle with that loony democrat Congressman.
“The sad and strange story of Army Sgt. LaDavid Johnson is in the No Spin spotlight today.
On October 4, the Sergeant and three other American military people were killed in Niger, Africa fighting ISIS terrorists. US forces are deployed around the world to help countries defeat the ISIS savages.
Yesterday, President Trump called the Sergeant’s widow in South Florida to offer condolences. Unbeknownst to the President, Congresswoman Fredericka Wilson, a big Trump critic, was listening in on the call.
No surprise, the democratic politician almost immediately called CNN to castigate the President for being insensitive to the grieving family.
Mr. Trump tweeted that Ms. Wilson fabricated the contents of the call, and since the White House may have taped the phone correspondence, the situation could be clarified in short order.
But no clarity is needed for the hate-Trump media which immediately reported the Congresswoman’s allegations as truth, obviously trying to besmirch the President.
I don’t know what was said and neither does any other member of the press. But this whole thing has the look of a setup, does it not?
We’ll have more on the story tonight on the No Spin News, where you can count on getting the honest story!”

Here’s a list of all the Treason convictions in our history
Philip Vigol and John Mitchell, convicted of treason and sentenced to hanging; pardoned by George Washington; see Whiskey Rebellion.
John Fries, the leader of Fries’ Rebellion, convicted of treason in 1800 along with two accomplices, and pardoned that same year by John Adams.
Governor Thomas Dorr 1844, convicted of treason against the state of Rhode Island; see Dorr Rebellion; released in 1845; civil rights restored in 1851; verdict annulled in 1854.
John Brown, convicted of treason against the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1859 and executed for attempting to organize armed resistance to slavery.
Aaron Dwight Stevens, took part in John Brown’s raid and was executed in 1860 for treason against Virginia.
William Bruce Mumford, convicted of treason and hanged in 1862 for tearing down a United States flag during the American Civil War.
Walter Allen was convicted of treason on September 16, 1922 for taking part in the 1921 Miner’s March with the coal companies and the US Army on Blair Mountain, West Virginia. He was sentenced to 10 years and fined. During his appeal to the Supreme Court he disappeared while out on bail. United Mineworkers of America leader William Blizzard was acquitted of the charge of treason by the jury on May 25, 1922.[11]
Martin James Monti, United States Army Air Forces pilot, convicted of treason for defecting to the Waffen SS in 1944. He was paroled in 1960.
Robert Henry Best, convicted of treason on April 16, 1948 and served a life sentence.
Iva Toguri D’Aquino, who is frequently identified by the name “Tokyo Rose,” convicted 1949. Subsequently, pardoned by President Gerald Ford.
Mildred Gillars, also known as “Axis Sally”, convicted of treason on March 8, 1949; served 12 years of a 10- to 30-year prison sentence.
Tomoya Kawakita, sentenced to death for treason in 1952, but eventually released by President John F. Kennedy to be deported to Japan.

Very interesting. More stuff for my Encyclopedia of Worthless Information. Better than talking about the Obama-Hillary collusion with the dastardly Rooskies for personal enrichment. That $500,000 speaking fee Bubba gave to the Muscovites while Hillary was Sec of State went right into their joint checking account. And yes, it’s all a conspiracy theory by the Great Right Wing Conspiracists that O has passing cards under the table, scheming about selling our strategist metals…to the Russians Are Coming. “Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!”, as Gomer Pyle, USMC, would say.
To be fair, many Presidents desired between relationships with the treaded Russians. Reagen with the Soviets and Mr. Gorbachev, W with his see into his heart, Obama with his Russian reset button that HRC made look like a B Movie prop for a skit. Hmmm. No one raised a cacophony of wails and screams of bloody murder until Trump said it would be nice to have better relations with The Russians.
Let the “must not go there” continue. I would hang HRC and Obama, but then some mini-minded Social Justice Warrior Snowflake would say it was not hanging, but a White Supremacist was lynching a Blackman….again! Racist murderer hell bent on genocide of all POC and all that stuff.
Nah, I would fry them on the electric chair. Hey not. They said Global Warming was going to fry us like a twinkle at the Iowa State Fair, do frying the pair would be a matter of moving up the calendar. Just imagine Hillary’s melon bouncing up and down like a bobble head on the front dash. And both O and My Gal’s eyes would be really bugging out. And the smoke rising from her ears. Oh, one can only dream of such matters.
That reminds me. Just got a new idea for my politically incorrect Halloween costume.

As Walt said last night….”The plot thickens.”
Popinjays say “Must not look that way, must not go there.”
Toensing said her client was asked by the FBI to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to prevent him from talking to Congress, and has memos showing how the Obama Justice Department threatened him when he attempted to file a lawsuit to recover monies Russians stole from him and which could have drawn attention to the Russian corruption during the 2016 election.
The department threatened to bring a criminal case against him for violating the NDA, she said. The Hill also said it obtained emails from a civil attorney working with the witness that described the pressure the department was exerting on him to stay quiet.

Treason: the de facto definition of treason, according to many dictionaries, is “the crime of betraying one’s country, especially by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government.” The de juris definitions of treason vary according to the predilection of lawyers in various jurisdictions (e.g. countries). It seems to me that espionage is a capital crime only because of its treasonous nature – its successful fruits contribute to and/or may cause the defeat or overthrow of a government. Therefore discriminating between treason and espionage seems more of a semantics exercise important only in legal circles.
That the Rosenbergs were executed for espionage tells me only that it was a charge of convenience, worked out by government lawyers given the inconvenient de juris definition of treason, for killing them as the hyped up mood of the then American public demanded. The puzzling part remains that espionage before then was only a capital crime during a declared war, which was not in progress during their dastardly deeds. And even if they did some of their spying during WW2, they only transmitted their purloined info to the USSR, our putative ally. As a counter example, Pollack’s fate was mitigated by his spying for Israel, our bosom buddy, ward, and longtime ally.

No time to dig into it today but here’s an interesting sidelight.
This is from the play Marat Sade where Peter Weiss writes De Sade stating the futility of any attempts of establishing human order:
“Every death even the cruellest death
drowns in the total indifference of Nature
    Nature herself would watch unmoved
if we destroyed the entire human race
    I hate Nature
this passionless spectator this unbreakable iceberg-face
    that can bear everything
this goads us to greater and greater acts”
Of course this is fiction since it’s in a play
Peter De Groot says pretty much the same thing when writes:
To understand America’s darkening, we must recognize that civilization does not exclude the state of nature, for the state of nature is man himself, his historical inheritance, the unchosen animal endowment he must strive to tame, to constrain, to control.
Wonder if he ever saw the play

Good news for those who believe in local control. Jerry Brown vetoed a bill that would take away local control of decisions to install small cell towers.
Governor Jerry Brown of California waited until the eleventh hour to announce that he would not sign legislation giving his state more authority over how local governments deal with applications for small cells. Brown said he believes local governments need a “more balanced solution” that will allow them to retain more authority over their rights of way.

    Dr. Rebane @ 3:25 pm, Oct 19, 2017.
I read half of the essay when Scott first posted it. Got busy and finally just finished it. The problem is bigger than homelessness, crime off the charts in urban jungles, violence run amok, fatherless homes, disgustingly low public education scores, slackers entering the workforce without the work ethic and demanding pats on the back, and on and on it goes. Nay, those are just symptoms of the problem.
No one is better at nuturing and caring for children than a loving mother. But, no one has a bigger impact on a child’s life than the father. Yes, it does not seem fair. But the 40 year study published by The Atlantic a decade or so back clearly showed the influence of the absentee father on the child and society, for whatever reason. Drop out rates, teen pregnancy, incarnation rates, income levels……irrefutable study and The Atlantic is hardly a religious or moralizing magazine. Yes, Mom does parenting better, but Dad has more impact and influence on a child’s direction in life. Fairness has nothing to do with it.
Saw this and liked the title. In an age of decrying “toxic masculinity” (Justin Trudeau) to SJWs slamming “Maleness” at every turn, one has to ask where are all the male mentors?
    http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2017/10/20/boy-scouts-america-should-let-boys-be-boys.html
Many boys used to make clubhouses or forts with the kids in the neighborhood with a sign posted, “no girls allowed.” At some point in time, nature’s forces take over, boys start to notice girls, and the ‘keep out’ sign is discarded for the rest of the boys’ lives. That is just the way it works, no matter how many male haters are running about our campuses.
Milo, as a young student, addressed the question ‘Can we achieve gender equality?” Go ahead and shoot the messenger, the message remains.
    https://www.reddit.com/r/SocialJusticeInAction/comments/3viwvz/milo_yiannopoulos_address_to_the_men_at/
A Final Thought: Have come to the conclusion that some women don’t have a husband problem, they have a father problem. They just carry those unresolved issues with Dad into their relationships….all their many broken relationships. A tiny child’s first concept of God is their father. To further my general observations, many women (and males) do not have a father issue per se, they have a God problem. We witness this everyday, be it on entertainment media, blogs, campuses, lecturers, the press, and social gatherings. They simply transfer their father issues to God and their God issues to their Fathers, their husbands, their mates. Where did all the mentors go?

BillT 623am – Thanks for that thoughtful analysis Mr Tozer. I agree that our frenetic approach to the redefinition of not only women’s roles in our society, but also the relationship between men and women continues to have a devastating effect on our culture, which after all, is what we are really attempting to change. And some of the things we are attempting to change through politics are attributes that we have acquired over the millennia.

Yes, it is a broadbrush, and yes, there have been numerous injustices suffered by humanoids across every stripe, color, and historical age. “Tom Price’s lawmaker wife wants people with HIV quarantined and their partners surveilled”
Astonishing to think that her now disgraced husband was head of Health and Human Services Sec. under Trump
“And I don’t want to say the quarantine word,” she went on, “but I guess I just said it. Is there an ability, since I would guess that public dollars are expended heavily in prophylaxis and treatment of this condition, so we have a public interest in curtailing the spread. What would you advise or are there any methods legally that we could do that would curtail the spread?”
She based her concerns on medical advances that allow HIV-positive people to live longer, healthier lives.
“It seems to me it’s almost frightening the number of people who are living that are potentially carriers, well not carriers, with the potential to spread, whereas in the past they died more readily and at that point they are not posing a risk. So we’ve got a huge population posing a risk if they are not in treatment,” Price said.
