[Lots to talk about, but my attention is still on education which for the average American student is getting dicier by the year. Here is a bit on the new fad of dual enrollment programs which have high school seniors taking courses also form local community colleges, the longer term benefit of which has yet to be demonstrated. gjr]

THE FIX WAS IN: Pre-Exoneration:
Comey Drafted Statement Ending Clinton Email Investigation Months Before Interviewing Her, FBI Confirms. “’To me, this is so far out of bounds it’s not even in the stadium,’ Chris Swecker, who retired from the FBI in 2006 as assistant director for the criminal investigative division and acting executive assistant director for law enforcement services, previously told Newsweek. ‘That is just not how things operate…. It’s built in our DNA not to prejudge investigations, particularly from the top.’” Well, the rules are always different for the Clintons.

Good points to review, Russ, even though we have yet to do anything about that self-serving politician who took the FBI into new lows.
To that I would like to recall the Dems’ desperate screams about Citizens United. Under their political leadership and control of their lamestream lackeys, the country was told that CU would bring about the downfall of democracy, since now those scurrilous and greedy corporations would spend untold monies to bend voters’ minds to vote their evil will. Well, none of that has happened. If it were possible for Democrats to have egg on their faces, we would see it there now – but CU is now another failed ‘bygone’ in their message to the masses. Here is a bit of enlightenment on the matter – check out the top 20 donors that CU enabled.

I think it is so interesting that Trump used his own money for most of the campaign and therefore was not in the pocket of donors and the left media gives him no credit for that. After listening to the lames and the dems crying about corporate money it was they who took it. But no outcry from the “pure” on the left.

Speaking of money and our tax dollars at work: $1.02M = the average monthly amount spent by the Obama family over their 8 years in the Whitehouse. $16.3M = the average monthly amount spent by the Trump family over the first 8 months in the Whitehouse.
“I think it is so interesting that Trump used his own money for most of the campaign and therefore was not in the pocket of donors” — Are you joking? Ever heard of the Mercer family that bailed the Trump campaign out? Where do you think Bannon and Conway came from? That was part of the deal.
About Citizen’s United — You forgot to mention the untraceable money donated to campaigns and PACs via trade associations and other entities that are not required to list donors or amounts. That is where most of the dark money goes.
“those scurrilous and greedy corporations would spend untold monies to bend voters’ minds to vote their evil will. Well, none of that has happened.”
Who are you trying to fool George, other than yourself? If money is free speech, than whoever has the most money has the most speech.

RobertC 951am – Again you miss the point Mr Cross – you and yours told America that CU would open the flood gates of rightwing vote influencing. Well not only did that not happen, but the flood gates of the Left opened and continue to do so to this day. And today was the granddaddy event of all – George Soros, the consummate corporatist stuck $18B into his Open Society foundations which are arguably the biggest promoters of authoritarian socialism in American politics. Talk about money buying free speech. You appear to be a bit pissed, perhaps because you have no evidence to back up your argument.

BTW, here’s a little something that all true believers in computerized climate models should pay attention to now and then. This Monday the weather guessers predicted a 90% chance that we would have rain on Friday. Today the rain is out of the forecast with a CYA 10% chance that something might fall out of the sky. Now most of those devotees have no clue about computers, computation, and complex system models, so they have to believe the propagandists about the dangers of preventable manmade global warming. Nevertheless, it might tune one’s belief system a mite if an eye were kept on how well we can predict weather changes a few hours into the future.

From John McCain
Reflecting on his decades-long political history, McCain warned that to “fear” the world the US has led for the better part of a century, “abandon the ideals we have advanced around the globe” and “refuse the obligations of international leadership … for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems” is unpatriotic.
“As unpatriotic,” he continued, “as an attachment to any other tired dogma of the past that Americans consigned to the ash heap of history.”
The remarks came after McCain was honored with the Liberty Medal by the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, months after being diagnosed in July with an aggressive form of brain cancer.

Oh that’s right walt Walt. He’s also not an American hero according to Trump.
“He’s not a war hero,” said Trump. “He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”
McCain, a former Navy pilot, spent roughly five-and-half years in a notorious North Vietnamese prison known as the “Hanoi Hilton,” where he was repeatedly tortured. He spent two of those years in solitary confinement.

It’s looking more and more like the FBI has become part of the DC swamp. They had all sorts of dirt on the Dems and Hillary and just sat on it. Hillary is allowed to hand over her mail server after she wipes it clean. Was her door kicked in, in the middle of the night while investigators hauled off all of her computers? She shows up for her ‘interview’ with a co-conspirator and they get to huddle privately after every question asked. They cook up an answer and the agents just smile and thank her and nothing happens. They still won’t hand over what they know about Hillary. Why? If she’s so innocent what could possibly be the problem? Hillary and Obama sold American foreign policy for their own personal gain. Hillary for money and Obama for public kudos from our enemies.
Remember – “I can be more flexible after the election”? It was the Dems that sold out America to the Russians.
And Paul lauding McCain – what a joke. He ran for POTUS, Paul – we’re all having a very hard time remembering you promoting him then.
And we’re also having a hard time remembering you faulting the North Vietnamese Commies. Torture? Gasp! Really?

Treason convictions are very rare John Here’s a lilst of all the American convictions. I don’t see conclusive evidence other than blabs from our liar in chief.
Philip Vigol and John Mitchell, convicted of treason and sentenced to hanging; pardoned by George Washington; see Whiskey Rebellion.
John Fries, the leader of Fries’ Rebellion, convicted of treason in 1800 along with two accomplices, and pardoned that same year by John Adams.
Governor Thomas Dorr 1844, convicted of treason against the state of Rhode Island; see Dorr Rebellion; released in 1845; civil rights restored in 1851; verdict annulled in 1854.
John Brown, convicted of treason against the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1859 and executed for attempting to organize armed resistance to slavery.
Aaron Dwight Stevens, took part in John Brown’s raid and was executed in 1860 for treason against Virginia.
William Bruce Mumford, convicted of treason and hanged in 1862 for tearing down a United States flag during the American Civil War.
Walter Allen was convicted of treason on September 16, 1922 for taking part in the 1921 Miner’s March with the coal companies and the US Army on Blair Mountain, West Virginia. He was sentenced to 10 years and fined. During his appeal to the Supreme Court he disappeared while out on bail. United Mineworkers of America leader William Blizzard was acquitted of the charge of treason by the jury on May 25, 1922.[11]
Martin James Monti, United States Army Air Forces pilot, convicted of treason for defecting to the Waffen SS in 1944. He was paroled in 1960.
Robert Henry Best, convicted of treason on April 16, 1948 and served a life sentence.
Iva Toguri D’Aquino, who is frequently identified by the name “Tokyo Rose,” convicted 1949. Subsequently, pardoned by President Gerald Ford.
Mildred Gillars, also known as “Axis Sally”, convicted of treason on March 8, 1949; served 12 years of a 10- to 30-year prison sentence.
Tomoya Kawakita, sentenced to death for treason in 1952, but eventually released by President John F. Kennedy to be deported to Japan.

Hmmm.
“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act,” George Orwell presciently observed. Let the revolution begin.
“In stark contrast, Attkisson is a woman who represents a dying breed of reporters who follow a story wherever it goes. That instinct precipitated her resignation from a 20-year career at CBS News and the writing of a book, “Stonewalled: My Fight for Truth Against the Forces of Obstruction, Intimidation, and Harassment in Obama’s Washington.” It details how network executives buried her reporting about the Benghazi attack, the “Fast and Furious” gun-walking scandal, and the ObamaCare rollout.
Attkisson cites “liberal bias” as the reason those stories were killed.
Yet there is also a “powerful people” element that cannot be ignored. The president of CBS News is David Rhodes. His brother, Ben, was Obama’s National Security Advisor. Ben was a key figure in the effort to scrub original references to terror in the Benghazi talking points a lying Susan Rice regurgitated on Sunday news shows. The same Ben Rhodes who bragged about his ability to create an echo chamber among “handpicked Beltway insiders” to help the Obama administration get its message across.”
With regard to Weinstein’s depradations, there is little doubt “errors of omission” were involved. The same New York Times that published the initial story on Oct. 5 had a version of it in 2004 — 13 years ago — courtesy of reporter Sharon Waxman, who insisted the Times “gutted it” and then buried it after pressure from Weinstein, who “was a major advertiser in the Times.”
The Times’ response? Former Times editor Jonathan Landman insisted the story wasn’t solid enough to publish.
What was solid enough for the Times to publish? An incorrect story about Trump and Russian collusion, another piece former FBI director James Comey insisted the paper got “almost entirely wrong,” and leaks from unnamed sources who may have committed felonies to disseminate unsubstantiated claims to the paper. Those are the same “standards” that precipitated CNN’s retraction of a Russia-related article and the resignation of three “investigative” reporters.
https://patriotpost.us/articles/51864
And to think our most selective of selective po o’ fakenews dude boasted here more than twice how great it is that it was the liberal NYT who broke the Harvey Weinstein story. The sin of selective omission is that our local Popinjay failed to say “the NYT sat on the story for 13 years before breaking the Weinstein story.” They were 100% against it before they were for it. Just like O and My Gal on gay marriage.
Oh, lest I forget.
1) McCain has half a mind to stay in politics.
2) There is only one live round given to the firing squad. All riflemen composing the firing squad fire at the same time to conceal who fired the glorious fatal shot. Wax bullets are now being used instead of blank cartridges because the recoil is more realistic. Gotta feel part of the team and part of he fun.
So, if Walt were to gladly pull the trigger (as a few million would eagerly do without being asked twice), there is no way to know if Walt’s shot was the one that pierced the heart organ of the traitors Hillary or Obama or Eric Holder.
Never will know for sure, but I would be rooting for Walt to get real lucky and is issued the rifle with real heart piecing ammo. Some guys get all the luck. Other guys, like our Popinjay, keep shooting blanks.
