[We just returned from a visit to the east coast upon which I will report shortly. Apologies for the sand getting a little putrid with all the internecine tete-a-tetes going after each other's morals, character, mental acumen, aboriginal ethnicities, and added divers factors too numerous to mention. In any event, here's something I'd like to see our liberal readers consolidate into their more comprehensive worldview – Trump's political flip-flops (aka progressives' "lies") compared to those of ALL other leaders of sovereign nation-states. Start here with Angela Merkel. gjr]

More tragic fundraising news for the DNC. They only raised $4.4m and have increased their debt to $4.1m. So they only have about $2.2m net assets. Graham-Cassidy ACA Repeal Bill Would Cause Huge Premium Increases for People with Pre-Existing Conditions
“Those who did not lose coverage would see their premiums increase significantly. In the first year, premiums would increase by 20 percent. But the increases would be even greater for people with pre-existing conditions because the bill would let insurers in the individual market charge a premium markup based on health status and history, which could increase their premiums by tens of thousands of dollars.”

Premiums will continue to rise for everybody, yesterday, today, and tomorrow. $440/month to $1,100 for many under the AFFORTABLE Care Act in the past few years. Subsidies under ACA set to expire, which will squeeze the po’ folk even more. States cannot afford their expanded Medicaid, and….Punchy, if you like your ACA, you can keep it. As written. Embrace it. Love it. Hold it tighter. Oppps, you are on Medicare and even your rates will rise, maybe 5 to 10 bucks above $350/month. Good thing your SS check is or will be fat.

Paul, from the link you provided:
“As with a previous Affordable Care Act (ACA) repeal bill in the House, the American Health Care Act (AHCA), Graham-Cassidy would allow states to eliminate protections for people with pre-existing conditions”.
That’s what’s called lying by omission, a staple in propaganda. They didn’t tell you that in order to loosen (not eliminate) the “protections”, the state has explained “how the State intends to maintain access to adequate and affordable health insurance coverage for individuals with pre-existing conditions.”
That’s from the Forbes article I linked yesterday that you refused to discuss in rebuttal.
I’ve a fresh pisser about the Obama Administration, the FDA in this case. Under Obama’s watch, the price for a drug that has been in use since Roman times (and Ben Franklin grew the stuff for his own use) has gone up 5000% and yes, I just bought some at that new inflated price. Colchicine, used for acute gouty arthritis, which I’d had diagnosed for the first time on Monday. There are two formulations on the market, a tablet and a capsule… CVS didn’t have the capsule in stock (that’s $4 a tablet) but they could get it if I wanted to endure the severe pain for a day and come back Tuesday, so I bought the 20 tablets… for $105.
The average price before the FDA’s action… for 20… would have been a dollar and eighty cents. Nine cents apiece. Thank you, Barack Hussein Obama II!
The good news for me is that within an hour the redness of my big toe (not yet to the point of this poor artist’s case:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gout#/media/File:The_gout_james_gillray.jpg )
was already changing and now, feels substantially better. I can actually walk! Only took $68 bucks worth (or a dollar seventeen at the pre-Obama prices).
The company that now owns the patent (granted circa 2010) is offshore and the patent will apparently expire in about ten years.
I did find a Canadian generic made in Quebec and only sold to Canadians that was only nine times the pre-Obama price, $80 for 100.

Probably not too many people are into reading this piece, but I found it interesting. Concerning HRC’s failed campaign, written by Bubba’s former pollster. This article reinforced one thing about Clinton’s campaign I saw as a trip wire for her. She could not slam the economy because she would be slamming Obama. She was forced to “stay the course” because to talk about people’s pain would be to talk of Obama’s failures.
Putting a whole class of people aside and beneath them (stay the liberal course) for favored other demographic, racial, and political classes is why she (and libs) never got the pulse of the nation. She just did not understand why she even had to campaign at all, hold press conferences, and why wasn’t she up by “fifty points, you may ask”.

Why is it that so many left-liberals, “Progressives” and the like feel free to throw out happy fun slanders like that? I’m sure “Piper”/mandersonation have figured out that there are a range of politics amongst those listed with a range of IQs, and some of them are higher and more “liberal” in the classic sense than his. But name calling and other slanders are all that he has to throw. Personally, I’m not at the Mediscare age yet, and unlike “Piper”, I don’t insult people calling out their race as a pejorative. “Piper”, you’re a bigot.
Their may be a closet racist or two in the list but until they say or do something that actually is racist, I won’t call them on it. No, supporting Trump is not a scarlet R on their forehead. And my “support” of Trump is more about rubbing the Progressives nose in pile of irony they left on the carpet… It was Podesta who pushed his allies in the media to elevate Trump as a pied piper candidate at the beginning of the primary season, and there was a collective collectivist howling when Trump wouldn’t pledge in advance that he’s accept the election results.
Regarding AfD’s big gains in Germany’s election and Merkel’s “win”, she may have a hard time assembling a majority in the Bundestag… the AfD’s gain blows the old parliamentary coalition out of the water.
