[Wow, the last one really filled up. Here's some fresh sand to reignite a closer examination of the ongoing polls that portend so much about President Trump. To that we can add the fascinating new cause celebre of diagnosing the man's mental health. I personally appreciate readers' updates on local fire news. Thanks. gjr]

Yeah Gregory she was pretty juiced. She’s experiencing the consequences. Still Supervisor though for another 3 years and likely to be jpined by another blue type next year.

Sounds like the Left is either approving or ignoring Supervisor Hall’s drunk-as-a-skunk behavior. But Melania wearing stilletos onto AF One, and tennies in Texas, is a mortal sin that had to be hoisted to the top of every flagpole in the land. And some backwoods intellects still deny the Great Divide?

Punchie 440, be honest, if the .22 was from a non-left liberal (or worse, a card carrying conservative Republican) your friends would be hounding them from office.
“Likely” to be joined by another blue meanie or Paul Emery really wants her to be joined by another bluie? After all, it’s a split down the middle county, Paul, and Hodge is running against a seemingly popular incumbent whose nose seems pretty clean.

I responded and like all liberals you cry and whine and run away to momma. No, I have little use for you and your divisive discourse honey. In fact I have never heard of you before you attacked me so viciously. I have a decent reputation here in the county. I have been involved in many things. Yet I still can’t recall you or anyone in any of the local organizations knowing you. If you want to accomplish local detente, I suggest you stop yapping. Even your so-called detente here is just a load of sarcasm.
And if you say you are not a communist/liberal/antfa lover, then I suppose I have to take your word on that. Your writings conflict with that however so maybe you need to hone your skills in what things mean.
As a builder, now retired after 60 plus homes, and a two-term stint at local government, I am certainly way more qualified to speak on what it takes to get the housing problems fixed. However, I have seen too many people try and then the NIMBY’s charge out and attack their projects and call those poor people nazi’s. Are you a NIMBY? Sounds like you might be.
You say “predictable complaints” about fees etc., and I say well? That is the reason. You have any ways to make it happen? My guess no. As a person that has been involved in my community since the 70’s when I became aware of the tyranny of too much government and lousy citizen initiatives, I have fought many battles against people that think like you. You are not unlike all of them. And as an elected Republican Central Committee member and Chairman in the 90’s I can tell you I have a lot of folks that agree with me. So nope, I have no interest in you or your ideas. Liberal are wrecking the place and must be confronted at every election and every letter and every comment they make. Free speech honey.

Boardman is complaining about TX wanting fed dollars to rebuild.
Remember that Obama handed GM 54 billion of tax payer funds (never to be repaid), as well as absolving GM of money owed to folks killed by defective GM cars, as well as screwing bond holders out of money from what they were owed by law. Of course, what are laws to Obama?
GM did it self in by mismanagement, not some disaster. And it was a company, not an entire state.
Maybe Texas should not get fed govt money. Fine. Boardman might want to consider what that will cost the fed govt. One might want to consider a sudden drop in funds flowing from TX to DC not because they don’t want to pay, but because they can’t. TX is a huge generator of wealth in so many ways far beyond just oil.
Did Boardman post here complaining about Obama handing GM 54 billion due to incompetence?
It’s really something to see the lefties piling on about TX. So much for empathy and open handedness and coming together. All I see is “screw you”.
I wonder if any of these left-wing wonders realizes what percentage of TX is not white? I do believe I haven’t seen this much hatred towards non-whites since the last KKK rally. Keep it up – Trump will appreciate the help in getting re-elected next time.

Gut level full disclosed:
My last DUI was in the late 80’s or 1990. Back then, if you blew over 1.6, it was as an enhanced charge/penalty, don’t know about today. Also it was .1 BAC for a DUI…if memories don’t play games on me.
They charge ya with a DUI AND also charge you with driving with a BAC over .1 (.08 nowadays). That was my experience. So, they usually drop the DUI charge, and hit ya with the other charge if you cop to it. I opted for the blood test when arrested to buy time. They took me to the hospital to draw blood and we had to wait an hour, Busy night. That dropped me to 1.6, (without knowing at the time) . Also, I attended the last county run drunk program in CA. Busted on Thanksgiving eve, enrolled in class in late December, and on Jan 1st the drunk driving schools became state run and uniform, no matter who facilitates it. Just in the nick of time. School was at night, 2 hours a week for 6 weeks, 130 bucks or to enroll. Only requirement was you could not show up to class drunk, lol. Actually, no drinking 6 hours before class. Not everyone could do that, but you could do a makeup class. I did.
I was arrested (driving normally for me) for running a GVPD off the road at the intersection of Mill St and Main St. My right turn almost hit the squad car head on. I rode in the back of that car that night.
Point is, I probably did not draw too many sober breathes for quite awhile back then, and I know I did not approach a 2.2. Just saying.
Gregory MAY be correct on his “maintance drinking” theory. I didn’t even think I that drunk the night I finally got popped cause it felt normal. Maintance drunk.. BTW,, it was 7 years 3 weeks between DUI’s, so I was charged, like HH, as a first offender. There were a couple thousand times I did not get popped in between.
Today, if asked by a hospitiable host if I would like a drink, my standard reply is “No thanks, I had enough.” Short and sweet. And a measly DUI or two did not stop me from drinking…..not by a long shot, but I digress. Pain is the touchstone to growth.

Aha! My hypothesis that the Dems are distancing themselves from Antifa and dropping them faster than they dumped Cindy Sheehan after Camp Casey closed is gathering more evidence. The Dems’ internal polling must show Antifa is pulling them down. The broad brush paints on both sides. Pass the word. Antifa is toxic. Make sure the Huff-n-Puff Post gets the memo.
A nice sunny Berekely weekend in the park exposed that when are no Nazis or Klansmen or White Supremastics around, Antifa beats on peaceful citizens holding a prayer meeting. Pull the plug.
First The Mayor of Berkeley, then Nancy, Queen of Botox, and now hell hath froze over:
“Antifa activists’ deeds hardly promote the moral clarity necessary to isolate right-wing hate groups. Over time, such violence only benefits the very forces antifa purports to oppose. In terms of objective political impact, the group is badly misnamed: ‘Profa’ would be more accurate.” —Washington Post editorial board
Bonus points:
“It’s remarkable in retrospect how much people freaked out about the Tea Party, which had no organized violence to speak of.” —Washington Free Beacon’s Alex Griswold
Pssst: internal polls are not National Polls, FYI. A topic for another day.

from Paul Emery – who works for the local radio station in Nevada City – “The damage done by Trump to other human beings and the environment is far beyond that of anyone with an alcohol problem.”
So I asked him a simple question.
“does abortion damage a human?”
And Paul Emery is so cowardly and frightened of what his so-called ‘friends’ will think of him, he refuses to answer.
Instead, he posits a position that -“Trump was a supporter of abortions till recently.”
That’s not what I asked you, Paul.
What a pathetic and miserable little creature you are, Paul.
It doesn’t matter what your opinion is on abortion but the fact that you are too frightened and cowed to tell us what your thoughts are.
How much fear and loathing controls your life. Too afraid to be honest and let others in on what your view of life is.
I feel very badly for you. You have often shown hatred towards those whom you don’t understand and generally deflect all questions away from direct answers.

“First, President Reagan had a similar period during his first term when his approval rating fell to 35% — even lower than President Trump’s”

The post is factually wrong because you cannot make that comparison because Trump has not been President that long. Jeez Bill you’re dense. there is no historical precedent for this low of an approval rating in the first year. To compare Trump with Reagan at the same time frame produces the results I cited.

Dense? Alas, you can up with something new.
Now why are you so defensive? The link from the former college history professor was not addressed to you, nor did I make any claims to dispute your National Polls. If anything, it was a reminder to the reader than another President had low numbers in his first term. As you know, it took President Reagan over two years to get his tax reform through, so I reckon that would make Reagan the Liar-in-Chief. Yes, that last sentence was indeed directed at you….in case you are that dense.
Not everything is about you. Not every one’s opinion about polls is about you. Whatever point you were making about Trump’s numbers, I have not a clue. I simply skip over your copy and pastes as well as your links provided 90% of the time…to this hour. Thus, I see no point of contention with what Newt wrote and whatever timeframe you were citing in a post I did not read.
One thing I like about Newt is he was born an optimist. Just the way he crawled out of the womb. Reagen was the same way, so it’s only natural the former college professor would give the reader a brief history lesson about another optimist. As Newt would and did say to conclude his brief commentary…..
“Then relax and enjoy the nonsense knowing it is just that: nonsense.”

For the word “unstable,” 33 percent selected “extremely,” 11 percent chose “very” and 16 percent agreed with “somewhat.”
Just 27 percent said he was “not at all” a bully while 38 percent said he was “not at all” unstable.
Polls showed that 56 percent of respondents said Trump was “not at all” presidential, 55 percent said he was “not at all” a moral leader, 53 percent said he was “not at all” compassionate or steady and 50 percent said he was “not at all” honest.
