[Well, that last sandbox sure got smelly in the end.  My bad for letting it linger.  Perhaps we can try to raise the level of discourse on this one.  Would love to see some dialogue on 'Trump divorces GOP Congress' and its implications for legislation and 2018. gjr]

Really Kesti 924? I recall Bush 43 reading a story to some kids and when told about the attacks on 9/11 he sat there trying to grasp this. And the press to this day craps all over him for that nine minutes of silence. My goodness, who cares if the President want to check things out? Not me. Oh and when Bush flying over New Orleans without stopping the press and the left still scream he did it because he is a racist. Not because he did not want to get in the way.

The other day I may have mentioned my kid in AZ. was making a run to the disaster zone with critter food. Well,, she made the local news back there. And a FOX affiliate no less.
That’s my girl! They gave her a microphone! Now that was risky.

and finally. Actually worth a listen. This is mainstream MSM editorializing that is watched by a good chunk of people every day. It’s worth having insight into the Green Libertarian philosophy stripped of details. Don’t fool yourself by sticking exclusively to the WSJ.

“I regret allowing you to trick me into again hearing Olbermann’s idiotic rhetoric.”
lol. Sorry, I should have titled it somehow. Anyone familiar with his work doesn’t need any more.
The thing is that a lot of people believe every word of that stuff. He currently hails from a bonafide media outlet. I can hear most of that verbiage from any Green Libertarian who types or speaks, so it isn’t unique.
I think that most people who don’t indulge in Trumphate 24/7 are unaware of how strong the wording is out there, it’s painful but instructive to check out.

I believe you may have misread Michael R. Kesti’ 9:24. I took it to mean the story in and of itself and the importance of Presidents flying over/to disaster areas is just a bunch of media hooey. Presidents are in the way, drawing away important and scarce time and resources (including manpower) so a President can hit the ground and check it out. They are just in the way. It’s chaotic down there. That is why last weekend Trump announced he would be going, but not til Tuesday and at a spot farther back out of the worker’s way. Imangine Trump or the First Lady walking into the emergency shelter that is being flooded as all chaos is breaking out? There is pandemonium going on in a lot of flood victims’ heads and volunteers right now. Not to mention pulling the exhausted overwhelmed LE off their emergency task for security detail. Now looters draw LE away from helping out with the shelters.
Non-story. Presidents should stand back. There just make things worse when they show up too early. Maybe a walk around Harvey wake in a week, but not for too long.

Olbermann isn’t getting any better at reality, is he? “Unhinged” doesn’t quite do him justice.
I fear things are going to get worse, lots worse, before they get better.

    re: Gregory@1:00PM
I might be overstating the case, but I have a funny feeling that he is saying things that a whole lot of people think, it’s just that they are usually too polite to rant like that.
You have to go pretty far in the other corner to buy into Alex Jones, but it seems to me that the Scott Adams defined hysteria is real and actually fairly common.
Given that there really hasn’t been a whole lot of Trump policy so far, with the single exception of beginning to actually enforce immigration law, it seem strange to think that that one thing is enough to cause so much mass delusion. Hang on, he also threw the recently passed transsexuals-in-the-military biz back in the air (although it hasn’t really been determined yet), so there is that. 95% or more of Trumphate is expressed as general dislike and mechanisms for regime change, not outrage over actual executive orders or legislation.
Since nothing substantial is in play (aside from borders), there’s really no point in arguing with a Green Libertarian. Currently, their political belief system consists of apparitions.

It’s important to remember that Olbermann is just the face of the organizations that produce the programs on which he appears. In this case that is GQ Magazine for whom he speaks.

Kesti, I reject GQ is anything but the next ex-employer of the rabid attack poodle Olbermann. A guy like Olbermann has to keep looking one ahead for when the inevitable happens which will be when GQ sees him as a bigger liability than he is worth.
I remember back when he was a second stringer sportscaster on local SoCal network TV… once, when covering the Giro d’Italia (iirc, I was at my in law’s house and they chose the station) he got stuck on the jersey color for the leader in the race… Danger Pink. He kept on interjecting “PINK jersey!” in a blatantly homophobic manner.
As if he’d ever be in danger of being a leader in the Giro. But that was the old Olbermann.

Focusing on a pink jersey is a reasonable response from any American sports fan when it comes to bike racing, one of the few sports in this country that’s less popular than soccer.
Olbermann reached his peak when he teamed with Dan Patrick to anchor “Sports Center” on ESPN, where he became know for his quips and clever observations. One of my favorites (if you’re not a baseball fan, ask one to explain this to you): “That’s 6-4-3 if you’re scoring at home, and if you are, why are you watching this program?”

Poor Trump. Can’t take criticism according to his son. Has to ignore critique or he’ll get depressed and might kill himself.
“Eric Trump suggested that his father doesn’t take criticism seriously because doing so would lead to depression and suicidal thoughts.
During an interview Tuesday on The Joe Pags Show, Trump’s son said “politics is the nastiest business I’ve ever seen” because the president is constantly bombarded with criticism.
“I mean, just the evilness and the hatred in that world is unlike anything I could have fathomed before. And no matter what he does, they’re going to hit him on it and they’re going to go after him, and it’s the swamp and it’s a corrupt system.”
“It’s the media, the mainstream media, who does not want him to succeed. It’s government who does not want him to succeed… No matter what he does, he’s going to get hit, and listen, I think you have to tune it out. You obviously have to be tuned into it, but at the same time you have to take it all with a grain of salt.”
“If they weren’t talking about you, you wouldn’t be doing something right and it’s important to keep it in context, otherwise quite frankly you’d probably end up killing yourself out of depression,” Eric Trump said. “But he’s doing a great job.”

The fact is that Eric Trump is agreeing with suspicions that his dad, Donald is mentally unstable by stating he has to ignore criticism or he might have suicidal thoughts. Suicidal thoughts are something that a mentally healthy person would not have in response to criticism.

Here is a copy paste from some woman commenting on my article about Trump. Now this woman is a good case study in how a moron thinks. Simply trying to debate the issue this moronic woman came up with the following, which I responded to. Cracks me up. But this is what the left does to try and shut down debate. I would classify her as a antifa adherent. Amazing.
    “Claudette Paige
Hey Todd, can I assume you are a David Duke fan? That you subscribe to the “14 words” and “88” dog-whistle code words? Can I assume that you were cheering when the domestic terrorists in Charlottsville were marching with their torches, Nazi flags, Confederate battle flags, their anit-Jew rhetoric, their well-armed (but unregulated) militia to protect them? Have you put up a picture of James Fields, the murderer of Heather Heyer, in your man cave?

Good for you, that’s probably the most valuable thing local radio can do. I’ve found KVMR to be pretty bad about fires, but the grab bag of amateur on-air ‘talent’ makes for different responses. Last time I had FM on in my shop it was a couple of hours of The Reinette Show prattling on about 5G Wi-Fi, thank God for streaming radio on the internet for the other 10,000 stations.

The Headline is deceiving because It was just a flyer put up by a unknown person. I like the way the Univeristy responded. Touches of the political spins of the free speech debate we have witnessed since Charlottesville and in our local Union opinions.
“On the one hand, we recognize the right of people to express their viewpoints, even when those viewpoints are offensive to many in our community,” Reddy said, adding that he “rejects the notion that we should censor those who denigrate others, as censorship would have silenced many voices over the decades who needed to be heard.”
“On the other hand,” Reddy said, “respect for the right of someone to speak should never be taken as endorsing the viewpoints that someone has expressed.” The chancellor noted that the viewpoints contained in this particular newsletter are “against the law.”
