   Then George how are we the people going to know when outr elected leaders are breaking the law? Is it not our duty to report crimes if we witness them? Without Ellsberg we would not have known about the secreat illegal war Nixon was waging in Southeast Asia and without Deep Throat Nixon could have successfully covered up his plethora of illegal activities. What would be the proper path to revealing these things if Ellsberg adn Deep throat would have been prosecuted?

   PaulE 1032pm – You’re confusing Nixon with Johnson’s “secret illegal war”. Remember it was Nixon who ran on the promise to extract us from Vietnam, which he did by 1973. Ellsberg ratted on what was set up before Nixon. Our Associate FBI Director Mark Felt was the sleaze bag who didn’t have the courage to put out the evidence against Nixon, and instead disguised himself as Deep Throat to bring Nixon down through the press. That is not the way our federal investigative agencies are supposed to work if they have evidence of politicians’ wrong doings.
   But if you like what Ellsberg and Felt did, then you must doubly like what Wikileaks and their sources did to the Dems since that exposed wrong doings without violating any oaths or institutional trusts. And even more so what Team Trump subsequently did with the publicly revealed evidence.

   Well, thank goodness for Right Wing sites that let us know. The election of 2016 and its aftermath has laid bare one thing for all the world to see. The major collusion was not the DNC stacking the deck against Bernie Sanders. It was not the Trump and Putin holding hands narrative. Nah, that is small potatoes in comparison.
   The real nonfiction story I reference is the MSM working hand in hand 100% with the Establishment Left, the bureaucracy that runs our government, and the “deep state” to control the narrative and masses. I unabashedly declare that the MSM is in collusion with the powers to be that control and run our government, no matter what the will of the people is. MSM is nothing more than Pravda. The Department of Misinformation and purposely designed to be such. The warty tool.
   So, George, how are people going to know when our elected (and appointed) officials are breaking the law? Good question. The answer will definitely NOT be coming from the 4th Estate in its present form.
   The stage is being set right now. Charles Krauthammer had been warning about this lately. The damage to our nation, our Constitution Republic, may be take decades to repair. Michael Savage is not far off base here.

    lol. Nixon. This is why there’s no point in the argument to begin with. I have a funny feeling that Mr. Emery has never read a single page of the publication, it has just become some sort of mythical tome that exposes evil Republican doings. Come on, ‘fess up, you don’t have the slightest idea what the contents are. I’m sure that mad googling is to follow.

    Meh. Both sides of the aisle have plenty of lecherous fools.
    This whole business of tarring a political party or philosophy because some semi-prominent member picked up a prostitute or sent junk mail is pretty boring. The kind of hand wringing that goes on with sex scandals hopefully will die off over time. Just imagine a JFK, LBJ, or even Bill Clinton with the total surveillance of both government and individual cell phones now available.
    The real danger in all of this is now that the 17 intelligence agencies are making a play for more control of the rudder, just imagine what they have on absolutely everybody. That is a serious business and I don’t see it getting better.

    Todd: Let’s just see how this plays out. Doubt it will ever see a court of law, so we will never know. Settlements usually have “no do speak of such matters” clauses. Yes, she accused Bill O’Reily just a couple hours before he got dismissed, not the days and weeks of rumors, accusations, and innuendos leading up to O’Reily’s dismissal. That looks bad, but looks bad only at first glance.
    If Eric B pulled an Anthony Weiner, one who think there is evidence. If it happened several ago, then it might be her words against his without the smoking gun, pun intended. Neither of us know for sure at this moment in time.
    She is an attractive women, the look that Fox News perfers to hire. If the glove don’t fit, one must acquit. Or, be found guilty in the court of public opinion.
    The story is not all that big in my opinion. Politically motivated? Who knows. Did it happen? Who knows. Could it have happened? You bet. The last thing we want to do is excoriate Eric or the accuser(s) at this moment in time. All men and women have feet of clay.
    Let’s not pull a Punchy and connect random dots to a false conclusion. Why did the Russians cheer Trump’s stunning upset win? Why did the Russians cheer Hillary’s loss? Why, why, why? It’s proof! No, we wait and see. If the good professor is a slut, that still has little bearing on unwanted (unwelcome) sexual advances/ dirty pictures she may or may not encountered at Fox. Apples and oranges.
    As Gregory used to say, correlation does not mean causation. I do understand knee jerk responses and can sympathize with them…..a thing that I have been certainly guilty of. “Liberals are stupid!” for example.

    Could be, Todd. They are after everything to the right of Maxine Waters, and is part of an overall tactic to achieve a goal: Fox must go. Drudge must go. Like buttons on FB must go if the link is tied to conservatives….especially pro-lifers. Bubba whined about Fox, then Obama started in during his first month in office and then got more jabs in as he was leaving for a better paying gig. Well, at least Fox took the heat off of Limbaugh.
