Bessee, it is strange that the UPS shooter’s firearm is only being identified as an “assault pistol”.
Paul, I’ll echo the challenge… what laws would you suggest to ensure fewer gun murders? Do you think the whole country would be safer if it’s as hard to get a firearm in Tucson as it is in ‘Frisco, Chicago or NYC?
I saw Bernie S’s address of the Senate regarding this morning’s shooting by one of his campaign workers turned hard left terrorist shooter. He was obviously shaken.

Well, with all these senseless shootings, not one has been committed by a member of the NRA. But, I could be wrong.

Ben Emery. Yes, the problem lies in the devaluation of human life. It’s murder that is the root of the problem, not the murder weapon.

While Bernie S was shaken, Ben Emery seems to be happy enough. I mean, what do you expect when those NRA types don’t want to do the right thing?
Look at the bright side, Ben. The last gun legally sold in San Francisco left the door as the last gun store in the city limits closed, in Oct 2015, a Colt .45. It might last the owners forever if they keep it dry and oiled.

Joe Koyote aka Joe Keeble of Sierra College: there are 300 million-plus firearms in the USA and most of them are owned by people who actually do think they have a Constitutional right to own and carry them, and guess what? The SCOTUS agrees with them.

Let’s all recall the parade of rights that so scared the SCOTUS in 1857 that they chose to return Dred Scott to his “owner” rather than leave them to live their life in freedom, because to do so…

… would give to persons of the negro race, who were recognised as citizens in any one State of the Union, the right to enter every other State whenever they pleased, singly or in companies, without pass or passport, and without obstruction, to sojourn there as long as they pleased, to go where they pleased at every hour of the day or night without molestation, unless they committed some violation of law for which a white man would be punished; and it would give them the full liberty of speech in public and in private upon all subjects upon which its own citizens might speak; to hold public meetings upon political affairs, and to keep and carry arms wherever they went

You see, JoKe, some of us want the rights that Dred Scott deserved. You have the right to not exercise those rights yourself.

Did Jefferson Davis leave in a huff? And now we see Meuller leaking to the WAPO that Trump is being looked at for Obstruction of justice. We all knew this was a Fitzpatrick type fishing expedition and in my view Meuller and whomever hired him should be booted. My goodness the President has the power to terminate any investigation which of course he did not do. DC is out of control. And this stuff is very dangerous to the Republic and could cause people to get really angry.

The seeds that we have sowed are that of theft, destruction, oppression, and death. The human race since we became “civilized” has mistakenly thought humans are nature master when in fact we are only a very small part of the living system we call Earth. We are a miracle and live on this dinky finite planet with nowhere else to go and yet we seem to lose sight of this fact.
This isn’t about US politics or about modern people this goes back thousands of years of colonialists and imperialists started the cycle of theft, destruction, oppression, and death to obtain resources to maintain an unsustainable lifestyle.
Isn’t it time we evolved away from such a failed policy?

    Apparently it involves platitudes.
You can argue that the single biggest mistake of colonialism, at least as concerns the environment, was to improve agriculture and lower infant mortality rates.
It’s interesting to consider that in the place where the term originated the Left was associated for some time with nationalism. I guess it just shows how malleable all this is.

Welcome back, Brother Ben. Well, we are right back where we ended our speaking to each other last time. You see the good in man and how things could be or should be in a perfect world, and I keep saying that evil resides in the heart of man and that is where we live…where the rubber meets the road. That gets one closer to the stink.
All folks lie at sometime or another, so we have laws against perjury and “bearing false witness.” We all get angry, but most of us do not allow that anger to become murder. We have laws against murder. All people lust for something or someone at some time in their lives, but most don’t take it to stealing or rape. All humans want to sit on the throne and call the shots some time or another, be it a rebellious child, a dictator, or running your own life the way you see fit. It’s called Pride. It’s called human nature.
Now Ben, where in the heck do we put human nature in your scenario? Solve world hunger and provide for everyone’s needs and you still have rape, murder, lying, stealing and stomping on people’s feet. You can satisfy all people’s needs, but never humans’ wants. Some appetites are insatiable.
“The man who worries about his well running dry draws water that will never quench his thirst.” I am not a thief, ain’t wired that way. But I cannot boast. I steal smiles, another man steals your peace of mind. Where do you put human nature? Where do you put spiritual beings having a human experience?
I told you this before, Brother Ben, but will say it again:, it’s ok to have your heads in the clouds, but make sure you have both feet planted on the ground. That is where your fellow humans are, warts and all. Good, bad, and indifferent.
Rather than circle the barn endlessly, I will take the cue from Fish’s 8:30 pm.
    Meme time!!!

Good night. Got a friend that is thinking bad juju tonight and really needs a friend. First suicide attempt earlier today failed. On top of that, my best friend in the world growing up was found dead on the floor two days ago. Drank himself to death, not surprising in the least. So, Ben, that is where my fellow travelers are, warts and all. I am exhausted and the night is young. Peace out bro, dig your fro.

We are individuals and want others to be as well. If anyone is tuck doing the same old thing it is you and always has been. I am having a great life and I made it happen. There is no doubt that people with guns stopped a socialist assassin today. The push on the left talking points here is as always amusing. Why aren’t you guys protesting in chi town, Boston and other gun free zones that drop more people than in Iraq? Strong LE let loose on the gangs and deportation of the alien criminals has real world impact but never happens in the WEAK administrations in those long time democratic shooting galleries.
It reminded me of what’s her name, Margret Jocheck who threatened a conservative groups 4th of July float. While it was still an anonymous threat before the cops tracked her down I had to chuckle. Someone really threatened a bunch of conceal carry experienced folks? Good luck with that, start pulling yours and watch 20 of them pull theirs and focus on your dumb ass. 😉

No, Trump didn’t obstruct justice with the expression of hope he could let it go, and Comey originally seemed to think the same as he didn’t push back on Trump nor did he report it to his supervisor(s), even when asked.
