Where else can you find a man who can deliver to both sides of a terminally divided Washington a smorgasbord version of events that can concurrently bring pleasure if not outright glee to both sides of the aisle? Everyone found much to like in what he said – a tour de force performance by the now ever copasetic, cautiously comportable (yet cowardly?) Comey. gjr]

Since EVERYTHING is based on leaked material, and “unnamed sources”, IF there were ANY tapes they would have been leaked by now. The W.H. is still full of feral Trump haters looking to take him down. Yet nothing. Did the current “deepthroat” choke on the bone?
HELL.. The Comey doc.s have even yet to see the light of day.
But good news. F&F is back in the news and the investigation is back. You won’t hear that on Prog news.

Walt, The biggest scandal and threat to our Constitution and democracy is the surveillance by the Deep State on everything private citizens say or type. Every keystroke, every transmitted word is captured and no safeguards in place. Spying on an opposing political campaign for unadulterated political purposes is unconscionable. What O & Co did since last July….well, expect crickets from the MSM and their subordinate underling right arm soldiers, aka, the Democrat Party, to turn it into “nothing to see here.” It’s up to those who swore the oath to protect the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic to keep bring it to light.
It’s up to the true libertarians, patriots, and Deplorables now.

It quickly transforms into the intelligence community being it’s own political party. Having the goods on absolutely everybody is too powerful a tool to not use.
It’s a bummer how the Green Libertarians are siding with these people due to Trumphate, but there’s nothing to be done about it.
The Soviets, at least, seemed to come to an accommodation with it’s intelligence people by making them co-equal partners with the Army and the Party. At this point, I’d say there’s every chance that the US spy agencies will become the only party in a one-legged stool.

The same folks who regularly make up ‘rights’, you know like the right to free stuff and healthcare is a right. You cant make this stuff up.;-)

What is interesting is that while the left are recovering from Comy’s dud and flooding their networks with pearl clutching things are afoot. Almost no coverage of the progress on the repeal of 0 care in the Senate and the idea of blending the tax and health insurance bills into one big package. It only takes 50 votes. Wouldn’t that be fun to watch them slide this through while everyone on the left is still talking about their failed Russian narrative? 😉

And it wasn’t a “dissent”, it was Turley stating his reading of the law and of Comey’s words; it was your handwaving about the preponderance of opinions that you’d found (including the moose-less land-bound BPI (Bullcrap Progressive Institute) Squirrel) that you used to declare Turley the odd man out.
Was watching Friday’s Morning Joe a few minutes ago and, lo and behold!, Jonathan Turley was on the panel and he made the same points, including that “as a defense attorney I thinks he’s pretty damaged goods were he to be put on the stand”. Hard to pretend to be a squeaky clean boy scout when you’re taking your work product left behind at the FBI and sending it over to a buddy to read to an NYT reporter.
The BPI Squirrel was not there to present the overwhelmingly dominant view from the rabidly progressive blogosphere.

Hey Greg, I can’t be expected to be up on all of the ranting that goes on here….you may have mentioned it somewhere on June 8th at 2:52 PM but this thread started on June 9th at about 10 AM.
Here is what you could do Greg, go to the hundreds of articles written on the legality of the Comey memo and look at the people cited in those articles…..hundreds….
As I stated previously, it is just like your climate position, if one guy disagrees he is a God. I usually agree with Turely…on this I don’t and neither do most legal analysis.

This thread is the current sandbox. My cite of Turley’s blog was on the then current sandbox… from which the current thread began. In the future if you want to make grand pronouncements of “me, me, I was first”, you might check. To get an ordered list, I entered “Turley” in the search box in the upper left sidebar and asked for the results be ordered by “most recent”.
Frisch, it was your choice to manufacture Turley as an outlier. “Morning Joe” S. didn’t refute him Friday morning and if you want to argue Comey’s work product as FBI Director was not literally and legally owned by the FBI he was legally fired from, go right ahead. That point, also made on Friday’s Morning Joe by Maine Sen. Collins, does not seem to be in dispute by anyone who isn’t working tirelessly to eject Trump from office. Me, I can wait until one of two things happens… 1) something that actually ties Trump to an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor, or 2) losing a reelection race in November 2020.

“Comey did not say exactly what he believed was incorrect about the article,” the reporters write in their explanation, speculating he was referring to how the paper described the Russians involved or possibly the form of evidence collected by intelligence officials. It’s true Comey didn’t specify exactly what was wrong. But did he have to?
He clearly and repeatedly stated the story is almost entirely false. He also said that when the news broke, he was so troubled that he actually double checked with the intelligence community to make sure he wasn’t missing something. It seems unlikely a dispute over what is technically a Russian intelligence official or how the evidence was gathered would prompt such a response.

Lynch does not have any grandkids. 45 minutes of talking about golf? Heck, I never knew a golfer that talks even 20 minutes max about golfing. More like 5 minutes. They like to get out there and play, not talk about it, IMHO.
I still think Bubba got some brown sugar down In Arizona. Seal the deal. Good thing the only one accomplaining AG Lynch on the trip was her ever present physician…just in case she got overheated. It is interesting you bring AGW into the mix… yes, once again, you seem it fixate on the numbers of people you hear speaking on the issue on your favored information channels. I quoted Turley, a noted legal scholar, you gave a link to a piece by that famed legal beagle, the BPI Squirrel. I quote the issues suggested by Turley, you mention there are 100’s of people you’re read about agreeing with the BPI Squirrel.
Similarly, I quote the scientists whose arguments I find convincing regarding climate issues and why, you argue the numbers of universities you’ve attended climate confabs and all the smart people you heard that had smart things to say about why they are right… but you don’t seem to have the knack to actually discuss the arguments they made.

I looked at the article that you sighted to give you worry about the supposed Trump threat. Bernie Sanders could just as easily be substituted for TeaRump in the populism paragraph… ‘Populism, at its heart, gives rise to the contention that the little man is being swindled by powerful elites’. Lefties say this all the time about Wallymart, evil corporations and the one percenters and others deemed to not paying their fair share of the taxes, ala Bernie sanders.. Now, because of trump derangement, it a bad thing to bring up the fact that certain NATO members are not paying their fair share.
Regarding the alleged nasty phone call between TeaRump and the Austrailian pm…what I heard is that Austaila keeps illegal aliens who try to sneak into their county on some island and Obama and company made a deal to import these illegal aliens into the US. Trumper didn’t think this was such a good deal for the US and said we would not be taking any more of these exports from the land down under. Oh the horror!
I am glad you do see the threat to the free world caused by Obama and company as was pointed out near the end of the article.

I COULD TAKE THEIR LESS THAN STELLAR WEATHER PREDICTIONS: But this stupid, ham-handed insertion of politics, using stupid science as a justification, I will not take. (Even if the Paris agreement did anything to reduce global warming; even if anthropogenic causes of global warming were true, it would be approximately 10000 years before we saw any effect. I guess Trump is supposed to be immortal.) Oh, the Irony: Trump May Have Sped Up Damage to His Real Estate Holdings By Pulling Out of the Paris Accord. Seriously. This is vomit inducing.
