Keep hearing about CBO’s assessment of the Trump budget and healthcare reform among other things.  The lamestream is reporting the office’s assessments as coming down from the mountain on stone tablets.  No one seems to remember that the CBO has an abysmal record in forecasting anything, especially if it has to do with the future.  They always underestimate the cost of liberals’ spending programs and overestimate the cost of conservative attempts to scale back government.  But such reporting works for the Democrats since the recent generations, especially the millennials, are innocent of any such knowledge – their unionized public schools somehow forgot to teach them about such realities of the Deep State.

Another lamestream hysteria du jour is the whole affair headlined as ‘Kushner’s attempt to set up back door communications with the Russians’, as if that was some kind of high crime or misdemeanor.  Again, the average voter has no idea that historically such confidential and clandestine communication channels with foreign governments – especially our potential enemies and close allies – have always been the norm since George Washington was president.  It is through such back channels that the real terms of any publicly announced agreements are worked out which never see the light of day until the meetings of the higher ups are announced to publicly seal the deal.  If Team Trump did not promote such initiatives to establish contacts, they would have been remiss.  And we don’t have to circle that ‘Russia sought to influence America’s election barn’ again.  Of course they did, so do we every chance we get to serve our national interests in other countries.  The only thing that keeps the current lamestream generated hysteria going is our deep and abiding national dumbth.

Trumponomics will succeed only if the nation regains its ability to once more grow its economy at a 3% or higher rate.  The economic poohbahs in their wisdom have pronounced such a reprise totally unfeasible.  In their criticisms they seem to forget that tax reform, rolling back regulations, cutting government spending, and sunsetting stifling laws/regs do have a stimulating effect on new investment and productivity.  However, those factors have never been taken seriously, let alone implemented, by socialists.  Such measures are literally outside the ken of the Left, and their mention instantly evokes cries of ‘catering to the rich’, ‘increasing income inequality’, and again ‘putting it on the backs of the poor’.  The only thing that has been a bit disappointing about President Trump’s fiscal and budgetary initiatives is that they ignore the requirement to address the two budget-busting gorillas in the room – SS and Medicare.

[29may17 update]  The nefarious Deep State; still don’t believe we are ruled by it?  I give you Dr Francesca Grifo, EPA’s Science Integrity Officer.  From the record of her efforts and activities, this woman’s sole purpose appears to be the elimination of science and scientific inquiry as the basis for EPA’s policies and regulations.  She is the equivalent of the Soviet political commissars who were appointed to shadow every civil office and military command from the days of Stalin to Brezhnev to make sure that all policies and actions were ideologically correct.   Our federal government’s bureaucracies are riddled with thousands of Grifos who were installed by hard left elected officials and bureaucrats, and are now indelibly embedded in the bowels of government where the real work of socialist planning, command, and control takes place.  These people march to drums foreign to America’s best interests. (more here)

In today’s Union we have two gentlemen of the Left lecturing us on the realities of single-payer healthcare and the generation and consumption of fake news.  Mr Robin Wallace, a true believer in the success of Obamacare, cheerleads us to embrace SB562 (‘Californians for a Healthy California) now wending its way through Sacramento (here).  He cites the CBO, aka The Gang that Can’t Shoot Straight, as having blessed the travesty that has been visited on our healthcare industry.  And he demonstrates his ignorance of Canada’s single-payer system as the paragon we should follow (more here).  He also seems to be deficient in the adequacy of Medicare which he claims is a working “single payer health insurance program for those over 65” – wow!  Columnist George Boardman likens the Right’s ascription of fake news to pornography – “they know it when they see it” – which is not true (here).  Fake news makes itself known only after being consumed, not at the time of its release.  But more remarkable is Mr Boardman’s rejection of media bias, countering the recent Harvard study that found overwhelming evidence for it.  He bases that on his belief that a news report’s “tone isn’t bias”.  Which is somewhat astounding because given two reports that both accurately cite the same facts, their ‘tone’ is the prime, if not only, means of showing their individual bias.  Obvious examples abound, and I’d be happy to supply a few for those still tone deaf.

[more update]  Everyone is properly worried about the North Korean fat kid going ballistic and exploding an EMP nuclear warhead over the western US.  And the sumbich may actually do that.  Now that we have a real president and SecDef, it’s time to reveal to them a tenet of Rebane Doctrine that we should immediately put into effect to enforce UN sanctions, resolutions, and provide for our own national security.  After we do the little planned exercise of shooting down (presumably with a THAAD) one of our own ballistic missiles as a test, we should announce that thereafter we will be parked in the East China Sea with our THAAD destroyers to shoot down every NK test missile of opportunity that exits their air space.  There is no better way to achieve the threefer of demonstrating our commitment to defend ourselves and our allies, enforce the will of the international community, and confirm our ability to do so using their threatening test missiles as targets.

Another measure of Trump’s recent overseas success is that the EU finally got the message about spending enough to defend themselves instead of continuing the 70+ year practice of letting it all fall on the shoulders of the American military.  Angela Merkel made a speech in which she described her epiphany –

“I have experienced this in the last few days, and that is why I can only say that we Europeans must really take our fate into our own hands – of course in friendship with the United States of America, in friendship with Great Britain and as good neighbors wherever that is possible also with other countries, even with Russia.  But we have to know that we must fight for our future on our own, for our destiny as Europeans."

Thank you Mr President.

[31may17 update]  ‘My Coming Out Story’ is another throbbing and sensitive piece in the 29may17 Union by columnist Hilary Hodge.  This lady enjoys a prominent weekly sojourn in the newspaper’s op-ed section wherein over the last year she has spent an inordinate amount of space recounting her personal joys, trials, and tribulations of lesbianism.  These heartfelt offerings, methinks, need to be ensconced in the paper’s self-help or modern psychology sections.  In any case, it’s often hard to tell whether such columns are laments or celebrations of her sexuality, or simply lamentable celebrations.  She is a good woman and no doubt deserves her audience, but need they congregate on the op-ed page where one expects to find discussed the more mundane issues of politics and policy?

Hold yer horses. From the Huff-n-Puff Post about those double crossing low life yellow bellied bushwacking Rooskies:
    Money quotes:
1). WASHINGTON – The top Democrat on the Senate panel investigating Russian interference in last year’s presidential campaign said Sunday that a major unresolved issue is how the Russians knew which states to target to help President Donald Trump.
[“This is one of the questions we have to sort through,” Virginia’s Mark Warner said on CNN’s State of the Union. “It does seem strange, it appears, that Russian-paid Internet trolls who created bots were then able to put forward fake news, selective stories in a way that seemed targeted.”]
—-Stop right there. I totally reject Senator Warner’s premise. Completely reject the premise that this whole article is built on. Now we are to take the leap of faith and believe that the Russians not only influenced the outcome of the election, their agents and surragtes specifically targeted Wisconsin, Michigan, and Wisconsin?? What, did the Rooskies spread fake news stories saying Hillary hates steelworkers, ironworkers, the UAW, and those worker bees on the assembly lines? Targeted? What did they specially target in Ohio or Iowa or Florida? Her being thrown into the side of her van at streetside after she passed out? Her coughing fits that have continued to last week when Hillary addressed Wellsey? Her shrieking voice that is worse than fingernails on the blackboard? That Hillary called half her distractors Deplorable and the other half Irredeemable? Let’s continue.
Ok, next we find out we where the honorable Establishment Democrat Senator got his talking points.
2). [Clinton in an interview last week also suggested that the Russians could not have known how to “weaponize” the emails they stole from the Democratic National Committee and from her campaign chairman, John Podesta, unless they had been helped “by Americans and guided by people who had polling and data information.”]
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-warner-russia_us_59342b03e4b075bff0f47059
Hmmm. What say you, Data Gurus? Was it Seth Rich, the DNC, or the Russians??
DNC Data Science Team Leader Therriault said in a tweet that the irony of Hillary Clinton’s bashing of the Democratic National Committee is that their data actually showed that Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania were not safe, but “her team thought they knew better.”
Hmmm. Not safe, but Hillary’s team thought they knew better. Yeah, drawing 300 folks to rallies should have been her first clue. And the Russians flooded the Mid-West from Ohio to W. Pennyslvia with agents with fake voter registrations I can’t read the rest of this bull pucky. No wonder the fakenews parrots can’t think straight. To be fair, Senator Warner got one thing right.
3). He added that while he knows of no iron-clad proof of collusion between Russia and Trump’s campaign, “there is a lot of smoke.”.
Is that all there is to a fire? Just smoke?? Nevermind.

You miss the point Gregory Follow the money. Why do you think Trump refuses to release his tax returns. Because he’s being audited? You really don’t believe that do you?
Here’s a quote from Trump himself
“Reuters reported that a group of 63 Russia billionaires have invested nearly $100 million in several Trump properties in Florida. Donald Trump Jr. himself famously said in 2008 that “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets. We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.” Donald Trump has maintained that neither he nor his businesses have any ties to Russia whatsoever:”

PaulE 1008am – Your linked article does not go beyond the usual innuendos and allegations flung at the Trumps today. But you should also consider that the Russians’ direct investment was most likely in a venture capital fund that aggregated monies from divers sources including the Russians. And it was this fund which invested in the Trump properties. Therefore, there was no direct investment by Russians per se. Such investments in venture funds is done all the time.

You are doing great Paul. You got ’em on the ropes now. Keep digging. There is no way that the Russian government could ever have influenced the election (and its outcome) without the help of Americans and our American expertise. Heck, the Russians can’t even read data correctly. They need that good ole Yankee Knowhow. Hmmm. Isn’t Trump a northerner, a damn Yankee? Yes he is and also possesses that good old fashioned American ingenuity ingrained in his DNA. Yep, Trump colluded with the Russian government. Heck, all those Russian playboy billionaires have partied down with The Donald. Donald made sure the drinks were flowing freely. And everyone of those lawless Russian Billionaire Playboys have selfies of themselves yucking it with their buddy Vlady Putin, the man who is trying to save endangered lions and tiger and bears, oh my. Paul, hop on that White Horse and bring the scoundrel Trump to justice. Keep uncovering, discovering, and discarding. It’s all in those tax returns.
Trump has already announced that he released his tax returns. All of them. He e-mailed them to Hillary, but Hillary got sloppy and accidently BleachBited them after wiping her server with cloth….oh Grandma….and smashing her Blackberry with a hammer. Grandma! Bet she wishes she didn’t do that. Everything would have turned out differently and this whole conversation would be a moot point. To which Bernie responded that he is sick and tired of talking about those darn e-mails. To which Lindsey Graham replied, “Bernie honeymooned in the Soviet Union and never left.”
Here is a new twist on Wikileaks. The Podesta e-mails and the DNC e-mails made the news and delightful tongue wagging, but, but, but are the Dems floating the idea that what the Russians stole is something else? Something more damaging, something not talked about, something that could really help Trump win? I bet the Russians got the DNC data and all that top notch research they have been perfecting since Obama showed the way in 2008. That would explain why the FBI was denied access to the DNC computers and why nobody is talking about it. Afterall, who better at interpreting correctly the data and using it to his benefit than Trump? Trump the American. Putin and Trump, Trump and Putin. “Together we can!” The master showman. Had his finger on the pulse of the nation. Now we know why.
You got ”em staggering now, Paul. Time to deliver the knockout blow and stand on his hand. Keep digging, the buried treasure is down there. Getting
closer by the hour. Warmer, you’re getting warmer….
They say the difference betweena rut and a grave is just the dimensions.

    Punchy @ 11:20 am.
Trump does not think like a politician. That is why you expect him to act like one and are immediately befuddled. Not a political bone is his body. Me? I just cut Trump loose and stand back and watch him go at it in the ring. You know, the bob and weave, rope-a-dope until Protest Fatigue sets in, then Boom, Boom, out goes the lights. You know. Geeze Paul, you of all people should be able to relate. You earned those Golden Gloves, you modest man you. Trump is sparing with you, silly. I am just in the stands…in the nosebleed seats. I love it when Trump gets into that Mike Tyson ear bitting off rhythm. Unconventional to say the least.
Here is a boxing joke for you….from a bygone era,
The fighter returns to his corner dazed and his trainer tells him he is doing great, “You got him now.” The boxer is getting pummeled out there, but after each round his corner tells him he is doing great and really have his opponent reeling. “You got him now!” The boxer finally replied, “Well, you better keep an eye on the ref because somebody is beating the stew out of me.”
    You are doing great Paul!

I’m sure Trumps Tax Returns would reveal that information George but …oh well… Do you really believe that Trump won’t release his tax returns because he’s being audited?
That’s a good one Bill. When Max Baer was ko’d by Joe Louis he responded when asked as to the reason he lost by saying “I forgot to duck” Trump is indeed a slugger but he takes a lot of punches and has no defense. Sluggers eventually go down hard. One notable exception was Rocky Mariano who quit undefeated. Archie Moore, a light heavyweight knocked him down in Rocky’s last fight that caused him to give it up. That was an amazing fight. Rocky was hurt and down in the first round and couldn’t find a way to penetrate Archies defense. He responded by hitting Archie in the arms till in the 6th round I believe, Archie couldn’t keep his arms up anymore. The fight took it’s toll on Rocky and he saw the writing on the wall and he retired undefeated.
Trump, being a slugger is taking a lot of punches and while he was able to slug his way into winning the election it remains to be seen how long he can take the punches he’s absorbing.

    Let’s relive the election!!!
Wikileaks all in all was a nothingburger. All it did was embarrass Debbie Whatzername, some Clinton staff, Donna “I’m a Christian, I know what it like to be persecuted” Brazille, CNN, and some media types. All it did was piss off some of the Berniemaniacs, lay into ‘the fix is in’ narrative, and made the some look like the Keystone Kops. Some in the Fakenews media and the NYT were even unabashedly unaplogetic and darn right proud. Talk about houseboys?
Bottomline, Wikileaks did not even get close to laying a glove on HRC the candidate. It was those other e-mails from State that hurt her image. I can’t imagine one “I’m With Her” supporter, not one straight party ticket voter, not one on the fence voter that changed their vote because of Wikileaks. That is not to say some Alt-Left folks may not shown up to punish the Dem Party or make a non statement statement, but all in all Wikileaks was just like watching Reality TV.
It was them other damn e-mails that confirmed every bad thing we thought about My Gal.

Paul Emery is unhinged about Trump. Jealousy is not pretty.

Which Donald Trump, Paul? Let me help you… it was Junior. And when? 2008?
How does individual Russian inwestors pouring some money into golf course developments a decade ago translate into Putin having leverage against DJT the Elder today, or conflict with the POTUS Trump’s statement that “Russia has never tried to use leverage over me. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH RUSSIA – NO DEALS, NO LOANS, NO NOTHING!”. Cue the Final Jeopardy! theme…
Really, Paul, get a grip. Stop crying wolf. Think first.

So you believe Trump has no financialinterests in Russia. Fair enough. There will be more tomorrow. Bombshell time . All for me today.

Paul, is that how you retract a bogosity? So, you admit that it wasn’t Donald Trump the president that said what you claimed he said?
I’ve stated nothing about Trump’s financial interests anywhere, nor do I particularly care until there’s actual evidence of wrongdoing, but I do believe you’re pulling chunks out of your arse. As far as Trump is concerned, you’re batting .000 and have been for as long as we’ve been chatting about the 2016 election, well over a year.
“Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow, you’re always a day away”.
I will await the promised bombshell, and your lack of explanation for all of the past bombshells that have been duds is noted.
