Keep hearing about CBO’s assessment of the Trump budget and healthcare reform among other things.  The lamestream is reporting the office’s assessments as coming down from the mountain on stone tablets.  No one seems to remember that the CBO has an abysmal record in forecasting anything, especially if it has to do with the future.  They always underestimate the cost of liberals’ spending programs and overestimate the cost of conservative attempts to scale back government.  But such reporting works for the Democrats since the recent generations, especially the millennials, are innocent of any such knowledge – their unionized public schools somehow forgot to teach them about such realities of the Deep State.

Another lamestream hysteria du jour is the whole affair headlined as ‘Kushner’s attempt to set up back door communications with the Russians’, as if that was some kind of high crime or misdemeanor.  Again, the average voter has no idea that historically such confidential and clandestine communication channels with foreign governments – especially our potential enemies and close allies – have always been the norm since George Washington was president.  It is through such back channels that the real terms of any publicly announced agreements are worked out which never see the light of day until the meetings of the higher ups are announced to publicly seal the deal.  If Team Trump did not promote such initiatives to establish contacts, they would have been remiss.  And we don’t have to circle that ‘Russia sought to influence America’s election barn’ again.  Of course they did, so do we every chance we get to serve our national interests in other countries.  The only thing that keeps the current lamestream generated hysteria going is our deep and abiding national dumbth.

Trumponomics will succeed only if the nation regains its ability to once more grow its economy at a 3% or higher rate.  The economic poohbahs in their wisdom have pronounced such a reprise totally unfeasible.  In their criticisms they seem to forget that tax reform, rolling back regulations, cutting government spending, and sunsetting stifling laws/regs do have a stimulating effect on new investment and productivity.  However, those factors have never been taken seriously, let alone implemented, by socialists.  Such measures are literally outside the ken of the Left, and their mention instantly evokes cries of ‘catering to the rich’, ‘increasing income inequality’, and again ‘putting it on the backs of the poor’.  The only thing that has been a bit disappointing about President Trump’s fiscal and budgetary initiatives is that they ignore the requirement to address the two budget-busting gorillas in the room – SS and Medicare.

[29may17 update]  The nefarious Deep State; still don’t believe we are ruled by it?  I give you Dr Francesca Grifo, EPA’s Science Integrity Officer.  From the record of her efforts and activities, this woman’s sole purpose appears to be the elimination of science and scientific inquiry as the basis for EPA’s policies and regulations.  She is the equivalent of the Soviet political commissars who were appointed to shadow every civil office and military command from the days of Stalin to Brezhnev to make sure that all policies and actions were ideologically correct.   Our federal government’s bureaucracies are riddled with thousands of Grifos who were installed by hard left elected officials and bureaucrats, and are now indelibly embedded in the bowels of government where the real work of socialist planning, command, and control takes place.  These people march to drums foreign to America’s best interests. (more here)

In today’s Union we have two gentlemen of the Left lecturing us on the realities of single-payer healthcare and the generation and consumption of fake news.  Mr Robin Wallace, a true believer in the success of Obamacare, cheerleads us to embrace SB562 (‘Californians for a Healthy California) now wending its way through Sacramento (here).  He cites the CBO, aka The Gang that Can’t Shoot Straight, as having blessed the travesty that has been visited on our healthcare industry.  And he demonstrates his ignorance of Canada’s single-payer system as the paragon we should follow (more here).  He also seems to be deficient in the adequacy of Medicare which he claims is a working “single payer health insurance program for those over 65” – wow!  Columnist George Boardman likens the Right’s ascription of fake news to pornography – “they know it when they see it” – which is not true (here).  Fake news makes itself known only after being consumed, not at the time of its release.  But more remarkable is Mr Boardman’s rejection of media bias, countering the recent Harvard study that found overwhelming evidence for it.  He bases that on his belief that a news report’s “tone isn’t bias”.  Which is somewhat astounding because given two reports that both accurately cite the same facts, their ‘tone’ is the prime, if not only, means of showing their individual bias.  Obvious examples abound, and I’d be happy to supply a few for those still tone deaf.

[more update]  Everyone is properly worried about the North Korean fat kid going ballistic and exploding an EMP nuclear warhead over the western US.  And the sumbich may actually do that.  Now that we have a real president and SecDef, it’s time to reveal to them a tenet of Rebane Doctrine that we should immediately put into effect to enforce UN sanctions, resolutions, and provide for our own national security.  After we do the little planned exercise of shooting down (presumably with a THAAD) one of our own ballistic missiles as a test, we should announce that thereafter we will be parked in the East China Sea with our THAAD destroyers to shoot down every NK test missile of opportunity that exits their air space.  There is no better way to achieve the threefer of demonstrating our commitment to defend ourselves and our allies, enforce the will of the international community, and confirm our ability to do so using their threatening test missiles as targets.

Another measure of Trump’s recent overseas success is that the EU finally got the message about spending enough to defend themselves instead of continuing the 70+ year practice of letting it all fall on the shoulders of the American military.  Angela Merkel made a speech in which she described her epiphany –

“I have experienced this in the last few days, and that is why I can only say that we Europeans must really take our fate into our own hands – of course in friendship with the United States of America, in friendship with Great Britain and as good neighbors wherever that is possible also with other countries, even with Russia.  But we have to know that we must fight for our future on our own, for our destiny as Europeans."

Thank you Mr President.

[31may17 update]  ‘My Coming Out Story’ is another throbbing and sensitive piece in the 29may17 Union by columnist Hilary Hodge.  This lady enjoys a prominent weekly sojourn in the newspaper’s op-ed section wherein over the last year she has spent an inordinate amount of space recounting her personal joys, trials, and tribulations of lesbianism.  These heartfelt offerings, methinks, need to be ensconced in the paper’s self-help or modern psychology sections.  In any case, it’s often hard to tell whether such columns are laments or celebrations of her sexuality, or simply lamentable celebrations.  She is a good woman and no doubt deserves her audience, but need they congregate on the op-ed page where one expects to find discussed the more mundane issues of politics and policy?

Can you outline somewhat briefly what your best ideas are for healthcare in this country. How closely does it match up with Trumps proposal?

    Trumps Disgusting Russian Connections
Remember when Donald Trump was business partners with the Russian government and his company got 53 million from the Russian government investment fund called Rusnano that was started by Vladimir Putin and is referred to as “Putin’s Child”? Oh wait that wasn’t Trump it was John Podesta.
Remember when Donald Trump received 500 thousand for a speech in Moscow and paid for by Renaissance Capital, a company tied to Russian Intelligence Agencies? Oh wait that was Bill Clinton.
Remember when Donald Trump approved the sale of 20% of US uranium to the Russians while he was Secretary of State which gave control of it to Rosatom the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation? Oh wait that was Hillary Clinton.
Remember when Donald Trump lied about that and said he wasn’t a part of approving the deal that gave the Russians 1/5 of our uranium, but then his emails were leaked showing he did lie about it? Oh wait the was Hillary Clinton and John Podesta.
Remember when Donald Trump got 145 million dollars from shareholders of the uranium company sold to the Russians? Oh wait that was Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation.
Remember when Donald Trump accepted millions in donations from Russian Oligarchs like the chairman of a company that’s part of the Russian Nuclear Research Cluster, the wife of the mayor of Moscow, and a close pal of Putins? Oh wait that was the Clinton Foundation.
Remember when Donald Trump failed to disclose all those donations before becoming the Secretary of State, and it was only found out when a journalist went through Canadian tax records? Oh wait that was Hillary Clinton.
Remember when Donald Trump told Mitt Romney that the 80s called and it wanted its Russian policy back. The Cold War is over? Oh wait that was President Obama.

Man… Trump’s ties to Russia are disgusting.”

Here’s What Federal Regulations Cost Your Family This Year
Anyone who has ever traveled to Washington, D.C. knows that as majestic as the White House and the U.S. Capitol are, they are a mere fraction of the federal government. Alphabet soup departments like the EPA, IRS, VA, HHS, DOE, and others most Americans have never heard of, take up space in the capital and amount to a hidden regulatory tax on all Americans.
In fact, a new report estimated that if the costs of federal regulation flowed down to U.S. households, the average American family would pay $14,809 annually in a hidden regulatory tax. That’s $14,809 in addition to income taxes, state taxes, and Social Security. $14,809 in addition to sales taxes, property taxes, and even estate taxes — where the government taxes you for being dead.
“That amounts to 21 percent of the average income of $69,629 and 26.45 percent of the expenditure budget of $55,978,” wrote Clyde Wayne Crews, Jr., vice president for policy at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, in the report “Ten Thousand Commandments” released Wednesday.

European Union president flays Trump over reported decision to back out of Paris climate deal
“Juncker added that “we tried to explain that to Mr. Trump in [Taormina, Sicily, where the G7 summit was held last week] in clear German sentences. It seems our attempt failed, but the law is the law and it must be obeyed. Not everything which is law and not everything in international agreements is fake news, and we have to comply with it.”

Juncker famously known for uttering the, “When it becomes serious, you have to lie” line!

Germany’s Suddeutsche Zeitung accused Mr Juncker of “taking the lead on the deception” and warned he had managed “to fritter away the last remaining trust the people of Europe still have”.
Mr Juncker has never hidden his view that the compromises and deals being worked out in EU meetings or leaders or ministers need be protected from public scrutiny, by lies if necessary.
“When it becomes serious, you have to lie,” he said.
In May 2011, he told a meeting of the federalist European Movement that he often “had to lie” and that eurozone monetary policy should be discussed in “secret, dark debates”.
He also sparked controversy by suggesting that the eurozone economic policy was incompatible with democracy. “We all know what to do, we just don’t know how to get re-elected after we’ve done it,” Mr Juncker cynically quipped last year.

Screw the Paris Accords……Europeans don’t even care about them it anymore! It was never anything other than a money grab from the gullible and deluded anyway!

Speaking of media for the first time MSNBC is #1 Monday thru Friday of all Cable TV Networks. The Top program in all on Cable News Mon-Fri is Rachael Maddow. that shows a big decline for fox which has ruled the TV airways for years. Fox still comes out on top on weekends when MSNBC runs non news feature programming.
“All MSNBC programs were lifted, but Rachel Maddow’s topped all of cable news. Not only did it outrate every other program among adults 25-54, The Rachel Maddow Show scored an unprecedented victory among total viewers. For the first time in MSNBC history, the network had the 9 o’clock hour’s biggest audience — an average 2.6 million viewers. (Maddow’s win coincides with the first full month of FNC’s The Five, the third show to air in the time slot this year after Megyn Kelly’s exit and Tucker Carlson’s move to 8 p.m.)”

Bill was the anchor of the day that gave the rest of the schedule rollover audience. No Bill no rollover. The chatter about a new network coming together has momentum, Ailes had been in talks with the old gang. They were all at the funeral and the non-compete clauses are running out. Ailes ran out this month but Ailes #2 Shine is still in the mix.

re DonB 1016pm – It has been known for centuries that public opinion is volatile. And since quantitative polling started, we have measured how volatile it is, besides all the other problems with extracting opinions, like lying to the pollsters. In our polling debates here I have not seen too much discussion/appreciation of this factor.

I have been polled twice in my life. Both lasted at least 5 minutes. First one was about Grey Davis vs that basketball player from Jersey, Bradley. Guess I still was on some old Democrat Party list. Around the time our Gov.and others were sending feeders out for the undeclared potential Dem Presidential candidates. Testing the waters. My, how fortunes change quickly. From Davis for President to Davis being swept out of office by Arnie and his supporters carrying brooms. But, I digress. Also included CA issues.
I would answer on the landline interview one question and purposely contradict myself on a similar nuanced question later. The pollster would remark “hmmm” now and then, probably thinking that don’t seem right. On the California issue, when asked about the most important issue facing our State, I answered “property rights”. Long silence. Shuffling of papers heard. The pollster said she could not find that on her list. So, I answered something else to throw her a bone.
The second time was local, about Transit in W. Nevada County. Do I like buses? Yes. Are they a good idea to relieve congestion and good alternative? Yes. Good idea. Do I support buses? Yes! How often do I ride the bus? Maybe once a year or less if my car breaks down. Been awhile, knock on wood.
Do I like trains? Yes! I love choo-choos. Everybody likes trains. They are cool. How often to I ride trains? It’s been years. But I support trains and buses. Especially the Canadian Rocky Mountaineer. Great train. Last one I rode.

1). On a more serious note concerning the nefarious Deep State, Kusner the backdoor man, and related hanky panky, the Estonia Connection emerges from the shadows. The seeds of deceit and discord were sown in the Baltic State.
“There is another scenario as equally plausible as the one saying Team Trump, and perhaps President Trump himself, colluded with the Russians. It is that John Brennan himself colluded with the Russians to help Hillary win to guarantee his continued tenure as CIA director. It involves the infamous anti-Trump dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele, used by Brennan and others as a pretext for a Trump investigation bonanza.
Seeking to retain his position as CIA director under Hillary, Brennan teamed up with British spies and Estonian spies to cripple Trump’s candidacy. He used their phony intelligence as a pretext for a multi-agency investigation into Trump, which led the FBI to probe a computer server connected to Trump Tower and gave cover to Susan Rice, among other Hillary supporters, to spy on Trump and his people…
    http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2017/05/did_brennan_collude_with_foreign_spies_to_help_hillary.html
    2) Heard a radio interview with Charles Krauthammer the other night. He said that Russia is behind the leaks concerning Backdoor Channel-gate. From the Russian Ambassador’ s report straight to HQ in Moscow, back down into the press. In fact, Charles believes that Russia was behind several stories of Trump colluding with his bromance. Why? Why? Why? Because they are the best in the world, the Russian Ambassador’s skills are unparreled in the entire diplomatic arena, and Putin is getting so much mileage out of each and every fakenews story about Trump colluding with the former Commie Bastards. He is playing us masterfully. Every new Breaking News cycle, be it Trump or some unmarked source, throws us in disarray and Putin wins everytime. Food for thought, albeit there are more moving parts than just the Muscovites. .
Why, why, why did the US based Russian diplomats cheer when Hillary choked big time? Dunno. Maybe because they knew our listening devises are just down the street, had the script pre-written,and they are the masters of disinformation. Maybe better than the proganda coming out of our departments of disinformation.

“Just a reasonable assumption based on” … nothing at all. “Critical Thinking” nowadays is less based on facts than it is making stuff up to fit the desired narrative and tying together unrelated factoids. I’d guess Paul is a devout Rachael Maddow fan; she pulls the same sorts of things out of her patootie under the guise of “what if”. It’s the same sort of rhetorical stunt that Glen Beck used to pull (is he even still alive?) and Alex Infowars pulls on a regular basis.
Watching Maddow recently led me to that conclusion; she was eerily reminiscent of Eric Cartman doing his Glenn Beck imitation.

The Russians “have tons of personal information about Trump” and we just don’t have a clue. We are hopelessly naive. Far enough. Or we do not see Russia as an enemy. No other options available. No other possibilities. No grey, just all black or white? Opps strike that. The other option is to agree with you completely.
Paul, you could bolster your point of view by laying a few hundred pounds of that tons of evidence on the table for us to look at and see things the way you do. That would be helpful to you as well as the reader. Just trying to think of others.
A ton is 2,000 pounds. Surely you could put out a mere 500 pounds of the evidence on the table and hold back the lion’s share so we can all become informed. How can we test your hypothesis otherwise? How can we be absolutely certain as you are? Help us come into the light, Paul. Please, help us.

Wonder what set Paul off? At first I thought it was his comment about Trump reopening the Russian Consultants that Obama temporarily shut down at the end of his term in office. That really got Paul’s goat. Maybe because the Russian probe is turning instead to the criminal activity and violations of the Espionage Act by the prior Administration. That really chaps his hide. A 5 second Google search turned up this. Aha! Paydirt.
“The Russia connections run wide and deep, and I do not believe it possible that there are any coincidences at play here. Even Rep. Schiff said in Monday’s hearing it was difficult to believe that all of these contacts and relationships are just coincidences. This administration is and has been in bed with Vladimir Putin, and it may be a slow trickle that takes months to unravel, but it will unravel.
Clearly, there are traitors in our midst. But they have all made mistakes, and one by one, they are going to get tripped up by them, and fall like a real-life house of cards.

Wonder what a ten second Google search will uncover? Oh, I just love the optimate for the masses. It’s sooo spine tingling.
What we need now is more McCain quotes. That would put the foam on the brewski.

Todd, perhaps Trump Derangement Syndrome is progressive and irreversible.
Have to agree with Tump the Traitor on this one.
“Did you notice we are not having a gun debate right now? That’s because they used knives and a truck.” Oh, somebody pla-leeeze take away his Twitter machine.
This is what a traitor looks like.

Remember when ISIS threatened to send 500,000 Islamics to Europe? And to think we provided them with weapons, cash, and air cover for their convoys. Now, tell me again why we overthrew Gaddifi? Tell me again of what we here (with the usual expection), Dr. Rebane, and the current President had been warning us about. Hint: it ain’t Putin.
