The War on Trump – yes, I believe that it’s now a full-fledged war in which the objective is to remove a duly elected sitting president – is steaming full speed ahead.  Yesterday’s clarion claim that the president had “shared sensitive intelligence” (supposedly the name of a middle east city) was modified today to have really been secret “code words” according to NPR.  The whole thing was sourced to unnamed WH officials who were also supposed to have contacted the CIA and NSA to give them a heads-up on the Russians’ Oval Office visit.  Now understand, no one has presented evidence that the president did anything wrong.  In fact, three senior officials “trotted out” by the White House – National Security Advisers McMaster and Dina Powell (for strategy), and SecState Tillerson – who were actually in the room, all denied the story calling it “false” and “It didn’t happen.”

But that makes no never mind to those dedicated to the destruction of this presidency.  All the miked politicos and talking heads continued lecturing the nation on what should and should not be said by the president, and what damage such revelations would do to our intelligence apparatus and relationships with allies, and on and on.  The careless listeners heard that such revelations actually happened; in no such breathless reports was mentioned that there still was not one shred of evidence on which to base the manufactured hysteria.  One Democratic MoC even called for another special prosecutor to be immediately commissioned to discover if Trump had committed an impeachable offense.  The hysteria of accusations and CYA statements by politicians of all stripe that now blanket the news cycle knows no end.

To illustrate the extent of the froth on this stormy sea, one worthy’s looney logic presented conclusive evidence of wrongdoing based on, McMaster’s and Tillerson’s statements denying that “Mr Trump disclosed any sources of US intelligence services or those of US allies”.  He claimed the allegation must be true since neither gentleman specifically “denied” that any city name was mentioned, therefore it must have been mentioned – say what?!  By that logic, since the mention of secret agents’ names were also not specifically denied, it must be true that such names were in fact also revealed by Trump.  And once allowed, this ‘logic’ of guilt by omission has no end to it.

Is that the end of this volley?  By no means, since tonight’s pile on is Comey’s allegation that last February the president asked the FBI director in private to halt the investigation into former National Security Adviser Flynn.  Somehow Comey failed to share that little tidbit with anyone else until conveniently after he was fired.  But now the Dems are screaming “obstruction of justice” and demanding that another special prosecutor be named.  Soon the main reasons for Washington’s gridlock will be the shortage of cops on the streets to direct new special prosecutor traffic.

Will we ever get back to fixing healthcare, tax reform, regulatory reform, filling federal appointments, revisiting our trade policies, immigration reform, … ?  Not if Team Chuckie has its way.

“The problem is Trump has so much to hide he’s sandbagging the investigation every chance he can.”
That is one possibility. Another is that Trump’s campaign did not collude with Putin and The Russians and is acting as any innocent party might, if that innocent party is Donald Trump.
Paul, do you REALLY believe Trump is refusing to release his taxes because it will have the Russian connection’s address?

    It not just Paul
You know guys, I read a brief interview by Bob Woodward recently about his take on the press, fakenews, and Trump. While defending the integrity of the press and vital role the press plays in asking hard questions, he made an interesting concession about today’s MSM. He said it was the tone…this anti-Trump tone that the media needs to correct to appear objective. The tone.
So, it’s not always the words what misguided Punchy pens, it’s the tone that screams louder than mere words on my I-Pad. The tone. Sure, not as disturbing as the FUE’s now dropped “hee-hee-hee-tee-tee-tee-hee-hee-hee-tee hee, but close enough.
If I was say, Trump, and I knew in my heart of hearts that the Russian collusion hysteria is nothing more than a fairytale dreamed up by the Obama-Clinton team, and after being briefed by numerous heads of the Intel community that there is no evidence or proof, then I, too, would ask those Intel bigwigs to state publicly that there is no there there. With this fairytale repeated daily, it’s hard for the President or anyone else to get the agenda done. A derailment. It no secret that The Punch Drunk One just wants Trump out of office. A lesser man than Trump would have thrown in the towel by now. As Gregory pointed out, Trump may be acting exactly like an innocent man would. “Hey guys, I need some help here getting the truth out. Tell them to put up or shut up. Set the story straight and let’s move on.
So, what’s my point? More than just that biased tone on anything Right from Paul, be it BDS or TARD. Sure, it’s OCD, but more than that. It is Paul and his ilk across the board assign nefarious motives to everything Trump does or does not do. Everything, proven or not, rumor of not. Innuendo is to be spot on because it had to be true.
It’s a waste of time to point out the Left has done the exact same things with impunity and to a much greater degree than the Right. Total waste of time. If I said that the Clinton-Obama team dreamed up a fairytale out of thin air in spite of massive conflicting evidence to the contrary…..i.e., coming up with the homemade video scenario to brush aside Benghazi, then expect crickets. No skin in the game I reckon. Shoulder shrug time when proven ‘people died, Obama-Clinton lied.’ A twist of Paul’s all caps “BUSH LIED, PEOPLE DIED!” posts of yesteryear than continued off and on through 8 years of Obama…..while not exhibiting the same moral outrage and incredulous contempt for Benghazi or a host of other issues, mostly consisting circumventing the powers invested solely in the Legislative Branch. That pisses the Libertarians off. Too many examples to list due to space constraints.
Bottom line. It’s this attaching these horrible motives to Trump that clouds reason and prevents any consideration of seeing things differently.
To them who are blinded by hate and contempt prior to investigation, the only reason that Trump does not release his tax returns is because he his hiding his evil plot with Putin in there somewhere. That is where the smoking gun is! We looked everywhere and it’s the only place it could be….and we know it’s in there!
Thus the tone, while wearysome at times, is just downstream from seeing only the worse in the Right (and their evil motives to starve granny and enrich Monsanto), all the while doing the blind thang when it comes to the left.
Paul will run over here and say he was opposed to a war or some policy of the Left during the last 16 years and give 2-3 known examples after thousands of examples bashing Bush, Trump, or mostly just the Right in general. So Punchy, hold yer horses. It’s not you I am picking on. You are just one of millions who take their clues from above and echo the “breaking news”. You don’t say one thing that Rachel the Man-Boy doesn’t say at MSNBC or on the progressive blogs. You just do their bidding, so you are not being singled out. The echo chamber sounds all the same to me, be it coming from on high or at the bottom of ladder where Punchy is. I say they all make The Bubble their digs.
A room full of State Dem delegates chanting “F**K Trump is cause for crickets. And you are so offended by my language? Hmmm. “I have never heard of such talk” to quote the Left from the Putang Grabbing affair. It’s the tone, plus, plus, plus so much more.

Fair enough PE.. We all accentuate our good points and minimize our own weaknesses and faults. Conversely, we exaggerate others flaws and justify our own. So, it is not surprising that we project that unto others.
Ok, here is my One Wish that I want you to do. I have no control over what you do nor wish the power to control othes, but I have a want, not a need. Hope burns eternal.
    My one WISH:
Since Trump won, his wife had been called everything from slut to whore. (Insert applause now). Just once I would like to see you come over here 100% unprodded and by your own initiative and moral dilemma and say, “Hey guys, calling the Melena a prositute and Super Tramp is indefensible”….or if that is too much, just once say “that is wrong, it ain’t right.”
Trump has been screwing his daughter (insert standing on the chairs ovations), his youngest boy has autism (inset laugher and merriment here), etc. Just once I WISH you come over and say unprodded “I think that was over the top and beneath contempt.”
You know, like the time you can barging over here in the middle of the thread yelling, “I thought you were Conservatives! I thought you stood for property rights and indivual liberties and against Big Brother!! George! Oh George, what to you think of them taking away our rights on this urgent matter??”
Well, the matter of life and death that night was the county was going to restrict/regulate outdoor private partieswith live music. Bashes. Something Paul has a conflict of interest over. Best fear tactic was along the lines of “They will ban outdoor weddings!”, but I went off point.
See Paul, all you really wanted was for us to be discussing the local matter out of our own initiative. You were confused to why we did think this was a situation worthy of stopping thing and manning the battle stations. Eventually you persisted and got your way. We had to discuss outdoor live music in backyards ordinance. And concerts. And draft proposals. And listen to you verify Sheriff Royal. You got your wish. I won’t get my wish in 100 years.

Paul, so, we’re back on the tax return angle, are we?
    1) no law requires him to release his tax return.
    2) he was elected despite not having released his tax return
At this time it appears it’s a big [expletive deleted] from Trump. Get over it.
Having given it some thought, I think making one’s return(s) public is more of a barrier to entry into politics than anything else… if you’ve mostly just held elective office and funneled your funny money into campaign coffers, there’s no there there.

On May 16, a story was posted on the Fox News website on the investigation into the 2016 murder of DNC Staffer Seth Rich. The article was not initially subjected to the high degree of editorial scrutiny we require for all our reporting. Upon appropriate review, the article was found not to meet those standards and has since been removed.
We will continue to investigate this story and will provide updates as warranted.

Flynn is having to plead the 5th and is ready to flop for immunity. Also his business records are being Subpoenaed, something you cannot protect with the 5th. He’s under investigation for many crimes including lying to the FBI.
“Sens. Richard Burr, North Carolina Republican, and Mark Warner, Virginia Democrat, issued the subpoenas Tuesday to two businesses in Alexandria, Virginia, and sent a note to Mr. Flynn’s lawyers, the Hill reported.
Mr. Flynn had refused the subpoena by the Senate Intelligence Committee for documents on his dealings with Russia, Turkey and other foreign governments, citing the “escalating public frenzy” around the issue.
But the two senators, the chairman and ranking member of the panel, told Mr. Flynn’s lawyers that they can get the documents anyway without worrying about Mr. Flynn’s claim of self-incrimination.
“While we disagree with Gen. Flynn’s lawyer’s interpretation of taking the Fifth, it is even more clear that a business does not have a right to take the Fifth if it is a corporation,” Mr. Warner said.”

So once more we see the depravity of men preaching GOD (ALLAH) and claiming they are the religion of peace, blowing up little girls in England last night. I personally have no beef with a peaceful Muslim who wants to practice their religion. But when mentally ill loser like this suicide bomber thinks he is headed to 72 virgins for blowing to pieces 72 virgins you have to wonder. We in the west mostly believe in the value and sanctity of life. We even have many protecting the zygote. These killers from Islam believe in death. To give up a precious thing unique to the planet and the universe means they are mentally ill. The gist of life and being a part of this special place called earth means nothing to them. They think they will receive some kind of KUDOs from their GOD. Well, I think they will be burning in hell and the best they get there is a soul in eternal pain.
All of you snowflakes that think we should not call a spade a spade as your PC life is so shallow, I say shut up and sit down. Let the big boys take out these scumbags and send them to their nirvana. You can do a greater justice if you simply be quiet and let the adults take it over.

Here’s a juicy one from the Trumper
    Jan. 16, 2017
Trump told reporters, “I have nothing to do with Russia. To the best of my knowledge, no person that I deal with does.”
That was after he picked Flynn to be his Security guy. There are at least 18 examples of members of Trumps campaign who had contacts with the Russians during the campaign.
    From Fox News
“Michael Flynn and other advisers to Donald Trump’s campaign were in contact with Russian officials and others with Kremlin ties in at least 18 calls and emails during the last seven months of the 2016 presidential race, current and former U.S. officials familiar with the exchanges told Reuters.
The previously undisclosed interactions form part of the record now being reviewed by FBI and congressional investigators probing Russian interference in the U.S. presidential election and contacts between Trump’s campaign and Russia. ”

Too late Don. Already been subpoenaed,
“Committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) reiterated that all options remain on the table for forcing Flynn to turn over the requested documents — including holding him in contempt of Congress.
“If in fact there’s not a response, we’ll seek additional counsel advice on how to proceed forward,” Burr said at a joint press briefing with Warner. “At the end of that option is a contempt charge, and I’ve said that everything is on the table.”

    — New Hoover Institution Golden State Poll: At the 100 day mark, Californians — by a whopping 54-35 percent margin — lack faith that Donald Trump’s presidency will be successful, a new Hoover Institution Golden State Poll to be released Thursday shows.
    But, but ….
    — Republicans are stronger in their beliefs in Trump’s success. In January, 76 percent of the GOP thought he’d be successful, but the poll taken this month shows that figure has risen to 82 percent.
    — Democrats are even more sharply opposed to Trump: In January, 67 percent of Democrats said they believed Trump would be unsuccessful; today, that figure has jumped to 80 percent.
The Golden State poll was conducted April 28-May 4 (before Trump’s firing of FBI director James Comey). The survey sample was 1,700 state adults; the full sample has a margin of error of 3.75 percent. Link to full poll here: http://www.politico.com/f/?id=0000015c-3df1-d355-a3fc-3ff1974e0001

Interesting polling information Russ. It could reflect that the Republican party has been declining in numbers in California and those remaining are a higher percentage of hard core Trump supporters.
“The number and percentage of registered Republicans in California has declined steadily since 2000, even as the state’s population has grown. Republicans now represent only 27.6% of registered California voters—just above the 24% who have no declared party preference. Not a single Republican holds statewide office.”
