[I and several readers have noticed that mud-slinging bouts in the sandbox occur in waves, but recently these have come at an increasing pace and with longer durations. The resulting comment streams are difficult to parse for those readers who don't give a crap about the kindergarten tit-for-tat antics; it just makes it harder for everyone to find the substantive comments that contribute to an interesting topic thread. In the past I've had some success stopping these episodes by just excising the offending comments. The problem is extra work for me because sometimes a comment starts out with a thoughtful/substantive proposition and then ends with a mudball, or vice versa. I will solve this problem by just eliminating the entire comment and let the writer determine the profit in reposting a more civil version of the removed. gjr]

“At least nine companies have pulled advertising from Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor” amid revelations that several women have accused host Bill O’Reilly of sexual harassment.
Following an explosive New York Times report that O’Reilly and Fox News had paid around $13 million in settlements addressing complaints brought by five of the conservative host’s previous female colleagues, several advertisers moved to remove their commercials from the hit show. Among them are several automakers, including Mercedes-Benz and Hyundai.
“The allegations are disturbing and, given the importance of women in every aspect of our business, we don’t feel this is a good environment in which to advertise our products right now,” Mercedes-Benz spokeswoman Donna Boland told CNN, which first reported the company’s decision to pull advertising on Monday.”

I recall when the left tried to get Rush booted all over the country for calling the little gal a whore or slut for wanting we taxpaters to pay fr her condoms. He lost some advertisers but guess what? After all the hoopla they cae back. It is all about the money and these companies know ot. Anyway, Oreilly says he is innocent and I beleive him. It is intersting how these gals can extort from the men. I listened to one of them, some psyclogist from LA on a Youtube today. Oh my, Bill never said anything but he did turn down the wrong hallway at the Beverly Hills hotel. The rooms were that way and the buffet was the other. OMG! exual harassment! You cannot make this stuff up.

I don’t they do. Just look around KVMR and ask your women if anyone ever said something to them. And I hear the local lesbians are very aggressive in pursuing other women. Maybe you could do some interviews on the streets of Nevada City. These accusations are many times bogus. So be careful unless you are gay you will be accused too.

People with more birthdays should inform the younger ones that what today is called sexual harassment or worse used to be known as ‘flirtation’ and being ‘forward’ toward the ladies. But that was then, this is now. I hope that everyone is much happier about their gender roles and how to interact with each other. BTW, does anyone know the proper ways for one expressed gender to have a relationship with another expressed gender? Someone should write a book.

Interesting question. I recently started to pen a long comment based on two published sources concerning two different young men who became transgender women and found out to their dismay that one could not attract, date, or hook up with lesbians and the other was rejected by cute guys, Unfortunately for me (fortunately for the reader) I hit the wrong button and all the links and effort disappeared. Vanished, and I can’t find the links I sourced no matter the effort. Oh well, no sweat off of my male privates. The reader was spared. Always a silver lining.
The gist was that the transgender who wanted to be romantically involved with lesbians was told by the sisterhood that she was not a real woman and thus he/she labeled the lesbians as bigots. The other young man who became a woman was heartbroken to find she was dropped like a hot rock ad soon as her new dates found out she had a penis. Guess some guys (speaking only for myself) don’t like to cuddle up and lean against another’s Patriot Missle between the soft sheets. Some people are just soooo closed minded and set in their ways.
To answer your question, i am not in the position to know. I suppose if the relationship does not bloom into starry eyed gazes and moonlight walking hand in hand along the beach, it’s because something is wrong with all those other people who have not fully evolved yet. Besides, who would want to date a closed minded bigot? “Momma said there would be days like this, there would be days like this my Momma said” as the song goes. Helpful hint to the spurned: get the potential soul mate all liquored up. :).

In a related news story, CNN was hit with a class action racial discrimination lawsuit in March, as a previous update to a lawsuit filed last fall by an fired employee who occasionally had air time. A lot of the O’Reily story is recycled from last fall as well, albeit with updates. Not interested in either story myself. Hey, has anyone heard from Mega lately?? Not interested in that either.
