PaulE 1047am – Yeah, silly me, I’m still in favor of school choice and states doing the nation’s schooling. And I’m in favor of shutting down the DoEduc given that they have cost trillions, and for decades have done NOTHING for education save insure that our schools are union guaranteed sinecures for poorly prepared teachers qualified mostly for the ideological indoctrination of our youth. Now I understand that you and other progressives are longtime subscribers to Einstein’s definition of insanity.
In sum, if the feds must stay in the education game, then they should implement a policy that gives parents the most choice in how their children are educated.
Now do you understand why the country needs federalism? I don’t have a hope of changing any minds, but do hope that you would understand why we don’t want to live in the same jurisdiction with crazy people who continue doing dumb things using other people’s money.

From what I’ve read, Trump’s voucher plan is only for children in poverty. The money for the voucher plan would come from the current fed program that gives the states extra money to help educate kids below the poverty line. I personally would like to see the Dept of Ed done away with, but if they did the left would cause bloodshed. At least what Trump is proposing causes the same money to follow each child and the parents would have a choice of schools to send their child to. Not perfect, but an improvement. Further, it will tend to remove a tax payer funding source from the left. The current system isn’t working and simply throwing money at it won’t help.

Some will say ” Carter meant well, but was naive.”. “O” on the other hand had destruction on his mind from day one, and is still working on that today. So the definition of “worst” is still up for grabs.
My bitch about Carter is his giving away of the Panama canal, and pussed out on the hostage crisis. Just nutless.(unless peanuts for testicals count)
As for “O”,,, well,, this isn’t over yet. He and his minions are still trying to start a new civil war.

The illegal immigrant deportation dust up de jour has video of a SOCAL arrest of a guy after he dropped his kid off at school. Heavy emphasis on the kids and no mention that dear old dad had a DUI and was busted for stolen license tags on his car. Details of the State Department sponsored event where Senator Session spoke to an audience that included a bunch of ambassadors are out. Sessions used his campaign funds to pay for his trip so legally he was there as a Senator, no Trump funds were involved.
The good thing about a buzz kill early in the day poor ol’ PE is that you have all day to get it back, right? 😉

All my opinion Walt. Bush is the worst President in modern history. Run this simple test: This country before Bush, this country after Bush. Run that for all Presidents since Wilson and there is no dispute from reasonable thinkers who gets the trophy. Trump has potential for setting new records though. He’s off top a roaring start.

Here, watch me waste my time. Trying to argue that Senators and Congresspersons talking with the Red Scare diplomats is normal and a standard occurrence for legislators and their committee members. Heck, Sessions met with the Ukraine Ambassador face to face in private the day before “he lied!!”. What did the Ukrainians want? What secret deals were hatched? Did they mention sanctions on Russia???

I truly wish that the Green Libertarians would get unstuck from this Russia business as it’s not only ridiculous, but it has the potential for causing unneeded danger in international politics.
You’d think that there would be plenty argue about with any upcoming changes in the ACA, the huge amounts of money to be spent by the new administration on the military/infrastructure/etc., alterations in tax code, and the like.

Well that is headline which raises an interesting question. “Alexa tell us about anthropogenic global warming” Love to tell you her answer, but our Alexa is in the Amazon shop getting her AI brain adjusted, she could turn things on but refused to turn them off. We had to pull the power plug to turn her off.
Back to the question. Oh My, AI driven devices give out factual intelligence, not emotional intelligence.

Think of all the children who will learn that climate change and global warming are not emotional intelligence, but factual intelligence. Or, heaven forbid, we learn that anthropogenic global warming is factual intelligence and that anthropogenic skepticism is emotional intelligence.
I am looking forward to Alexa’s return on Saturday so we can have a conversation about climate change. What does her AI brain think about anthropogenic climate change? Stay Tuned.

Just heard another detail on poor ol’ PE’s illegal alien heroine, when imegre showed up to take away the dad and brother they found a gun in the house. Possession of a firearm by an illegal is its own special felony. Poor ol’ PE’s heroine told ICE she had it for home defense and claimed she was one of 0’s dreamers. When they went back and checked and found out she was not they issued a warrant that was acted on.
So now that we find out she had a gun charge do you still hold her up as a shining light of the illegal community Mr anti 2nd amendment? That’s you poor ol’ PE. 😉

For the casual reader I draw your attention to the view of the Constitution, citizen’s rights, and the rights of illegal aliens (especially those fugitives who have successfully avoided the law for a long time) held by our liberal commenters. Their own words and supportive logic say it all. If you glossed over their arguments, then I submit you may well not understand the magnitude of the problem our country is facing.

No George. I do do suggest that there are greater laws than those we stumble around with and they do have to do with our spiritual values. I am questioning what in the Christian path justifies treating this young woman in that manner. Might I ask show me one lesson from Jesus that shows that decision . Are we not all human beings on this planet and what kind of God would prefer one over the other enough to sanctify that action?

We can argue the “why” of her deportation as long as you like Paul but it’s rather hypocritical to raise any religious aspects surrounding this incident.
We are routinely reminded by the left that religion has no place in the establishment or implementation of the laws under a secular government.
