[One of our daughters is visiting this weekend and we decided to take in the gun show at fairgrounds today. The entire show fit into the Amaral Center and was very well attended; in fact there were actually too many people there back to back and belly to belly. But the show itself was a bit sad – not enough shooting hardware. No major manufacturers showing off their line, the reason being that gun makers are not sending as much of their new stuff to California to be put through the regulatory and testing hoops to make sure they are up to snuff in a state that really wants to confiscate every last gun from civilian hands. Another sign of the times. gjr]

Well. all in all, the Alt-Left Sandinistas will hate Trump even more today than yesterday. Good thing Trump spoke over their heads last night and good thing this is still a center right country. The libs always overestimate their numbers and relevancy.
The Alt-Left Sandaistas are sooooo petty and think sooooo small. And have no heart to boot. Just yesterday all they could talk about was Kellyanne’s shoes on the couch. Bad girl. Every Sandinista Minister of Information had it on there news feeds all day long. Shocking! Disrespectful!. All left, all media, all the time. Glad no one here stooped to the depths of the Alt-Left MSM to even mention it…..until now.
Just yesterday:

Just yesterday they missed the forest from the trees, again. Today, they are taking about TelePrompters and now hating on that traitor Van Jones, lol. Bernie is saying this morning Trump’s guests last night were sinisterly picked to stir up…..drumroll please….”fear and hatred”. Liberalism is truly a mental disease. Somethings never change.

English grammar is hard, especially since they stopped teaching it in our unionized public schools. So Paul E. 1208, remind me, when did you actually register Libertarian Party? As far as I know you remain a registered Democrat, so, do us all a favor and use a small “l”
What keeps tripping you up is as a new or insincere libertarian, like Trump’s newfound love of Bible quotations, your citations are lacking. Libertarians aren’t looking for a demigod from which to receive judgments as to the correct path; just give me your take and I’ll consider it. And the biggest failing of Libertarians in general (not Ron Paul, but certainly the reviewer who declared R.Paul “demolished” Trump’s speech) is judging speech by its fealty to some libertarian ideal. An overambitious and undereducated local self appointed Libertarian leader, “Lance” who seems to have moved to other pastures, was guilty of this to the extreme.
A Presidential address to Congress has political meaning and should be judged by the goal of the President delivering the speech, their party and how well it herds the federal housecats (Senatecats, too) towards their goals.
Without eminent domain, practically, no dam, no pipeline, no road, no sidewalk, no work with benefits to the public at large could ever be produced, so we have Constitutions and regulations produced by the legislature that outline how it must be done, the due process to be followed, in order to NOT be theft but, like so many things decided at all levels of our government, full property rights and just compensation for any taking often get short sheeted.
Paul E, in other words, I’m not looking for pipers to follow, pied or not, nor Federal priests to lay down how to think. As to actions, I agree with the Jerry Brown of old who, when asked if he drives after drinking responded with something to the effect of “driving while under the influence is against the law and I follow the law as best I can”.
I think Trump’s words and actions should be measured by the rights and freedoms (not the same as entitlements) citizens enjoy year by year compared to what we’d have with with a Hillary Clinton in the office. So far, as far as I am concerned, the nomination of Gorsuch, with an all but assured Senate confirmation by the Senate and the most libertarian Senator in office, Rand Paul, being obviously happy with Gorsuch, endorsing the judge as a choice he could have made… that’s all better than I’d have expected from Clinton, Inc.

Remember my Green Libertarian credo is:
“We have as much government as we deserve”
By the way Ron Paul himself gave Trump an “F” for his speech not the author of the article I cited. The video of his message is here.

fish 238pm – It was hard to keep reading your blogger after he ended the first paragraph – PJ Media is concerned “more about the trouble makers to their Right than they do the supposed enemies on the Left, because they never want to get in trouble with the Left.” One of us has serious trouble understanding English.
The rest of it didn’t make much sense either because he never identified the objectives of the younger generation that would give purpose to their desire to overturn everything. Without knowing their purpose, they look just like a bunch of rock apes turned loose on the street.
PaulE 251pm – Paul, I’ve been quietly trying to wrap my head around your libertarian credo – no joy. Who or what agency determines our just deserts and maps that to the correct level of government? Is it some ‘hidden hand’?

Very good question George. I struggle with an answer to that myself. The difficulty in coming up with an answer is you have to take population under consideration. Certainly that threshold with which we have to subscribe to government for order is different if we lived in a mostly self sufficient rural environment with a relatively small population and a few clusters of small towns as opposed to what we have today.
I’d like to discuss that in detail if you’re interested.

Russia: 5 uncomfortable truths. Confrontation with Russia?
“But regardless of where one wants to pin blame for these heightened tensions, the risks of heightening them further are incredibly high β one could plausibly say: incomparably high. Yet in the name of being βtoughβ on Putin, those risks are virtually never discussed, and anyone who attempts to raise them in the context of advocating better relations will almost instantly be accused of being a Kremlin stooge, or worse.”
As Even The New Yorker Admitsβ’, the primary reason for Trump, for Brexit, and for growing right-wing ΓΌber-nationalism throughout Europe is that prevailing neoliberal policies have destroyed the economic security and future of hundreds of millions of people, rendering them highly susceptible to scapegoating and desperate, in a nothing-to-lose sort of way, for any type of radical change, no matter how risky or harmful that change might be. But all of that gets to be ignored, all of the self-reckoning is avoided, as long we get ourselves to believe that some omnipotent foreign power is behind it all.

1) I do not want to fundamentally change America as we know it. I just want to save what is left of it.
2) I did not want a tweaking of the edges, I wanted real change.
3) Just about everything held dear and espoused in academia, MSM, elite circles, Hollywood, Social Justice Warriors, and the Alt-Left are 100% diametrically opposed to what I believe.
It don’t get much simpler than that.
The fun part is the Media still has a big open wound for getting the 2016 election of Donald J. Trump so wrong, so completely wrong. So, what does Trump do with the big hurt the media is carrying around? He calls them fake news, then calls them back and calls them very fake news. Then, he calls them back again, and really lays into them. That is icing on the cake.
Why Trump won was not because a majority of people felt the nation was on the wrong track. No, for the first time, people felt that our nation is in decline. Not everybody, but enough to decide the election. Decline.
Turns on the news and you see a nation in decline every single night. Bias media, what is coming out of our colleges, what is being taught in our colleges, the carnage of our urban blight, breakdown of the respect of law, the economy, the safety nets getting ready to burst, road and bridge maintenance delayed for another year, crime and drug epidemics, tv sitcoms, etc. Social Justice Warriors in academia, government, and in the corporate sector trashing the idea of the color blind society envisioned by MLK.
Time and patience ran out. The kids ran the place into the ground. Time to step in and put a cog in the gears. The kids need a time out and the adults have taken charge of the remote.

Here we go again. The day after Trump’s address to Congress, Russian Xenophobia is one the front pages. What a political game. This one is too transparent. Stop the Trump agenda, call for Sessions to resign, blah, blah, blah.
The weak kneed RHINOs and Republicans run for cover everytime a pimply faced 26 year old 110 pound reporter from NBC asks a question. That is why they are a bigger problem than Chucky’s references to Alice in Wonderland. Good thing Trump won’t melt into a babbling puddle like the lot of them.
For those who are unknowing, all the ambassadors from foreign countries made the rounds on The Hill, seeking support or just to make contacts. Likewise, the legislative branch members meet the tons of ambassors to ask questions and hear their concerns and needs….and make contacts.
The Heritage Foundation hosts Senators, Congresspersons, and 50 ambassadors for meet and greet yearly. Well attended by both sides of the aisle. The RNC hosted a buffet with 25 ambassadors present last year, one of the two “meetings” then Senator Sessions had with the Russian Ambassador (and a couple dozen more foreign dignitaries.) What, they exchanged pleasantries or bumped into each other loading their plates at the buffet??
Sessions did not lie under oath to Al Frankenfrog or the Senate Hearings. Here is the full question asked and the full answer given at the bottom of the link. The context of the question is clearly asked about political contacts between the campaign and Russia.
There is once again no there there. Pelosi is a national embarrassment this morning. She is there in front of the cameras, calling for a special prosecutor, accusing Sessions of perjury, calling for his resignation, accusing him and Repubicans of big time coverup and….she is there yapping before even hearing from Sessions himself because she is not all there.

All they have left as of today now is disrupt, Sessions has a Russian pin on his shirt hidden under his suit lapels, and Trump is a Russian operative. Sad to see how they have self destructed.
Funny, when the USSR was a huge existential threat to the West and were real Commie Bastards and spreading communism across the globe to take over the world, Bernie Sanders honeymooned there. Not an easy place to be a tourist at the time. But, we won’t talk about that. π
