Quotes from yesterday:
“Bias is being more upset at a Trump tweet than you were at Obama naming journalists as conspirators and going after them with the DOJ.โ โStephen Miller
โSince the Kyoto Accord was struck in 1997, Energy Department data show, U.S. output of greenhouse gases plunged 7.3%, even though real U.S. GDP over that time has grown a whopping 52%. Weโre greener today than we have been in decades. Go figure. For all this progress, we can thank the fracking business. โฆ Hereโs an idea: If the Nobel committee geniuses really want to reward those whoโve done the most to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, they should give Goreโs Nobel to the U.S. fracking industry.โ โInvestorโs Business Daily

The crack deepens. California Conservative Daryl Issa says AG Sessions should step aside and there should be a special prosecutes look into Trump-Russia connections.
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said during an interview on โReal Time With Bill Maherโ on Friday night that the investigation into Russiaโs ties to Donald Trumpโs presidential campaign and the U.S. election hacking needs a special prosecutor โ not Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
“The conservative congressman, who supported Trump during his 2016 campaign, also seemed to agree with host Bill Maher that Sessions should recuse himself from the investigation.
Maher posed a question to Issa about the FBIโs investigation Trump-Russia by flipping the controversy on its head.
Maher asked Issa if, in 2012, he โwould let it slideโ had Russians hacked Mitt Romneyโs campaign and been in talks with former President Barack Obamaโs campaign.
โNo,โ Issa said quickly. When asked if heโd let it slide in Trumpโs administration, Issa said again, just as quickly: โNo.โ
โWe need an independent prosecutor,โ Maher said later. โAnd Jeff Sessions should recuse himself, the same way Loretta Lynch recused herself, because he was a part of the Trump campaign, is that correct?โ Maher asked, referring to former Attorney General Lynch and Hillary Clintonโs email investigation.
Thatโs when Issa appeared to make his response more clear.โYouโre right that you cannot have somebody, a friend of mine, Jeff Sessions, who was on the campaign and who was an appointee,โ Issa told Maher. โYouโre going to need to use the special prosecutorโs statute and office.โ

re Paul at 8:56: I’m sure the investigation can be handled the same way they handled all of the investigations into Obama admin.
Trump can declare there’s ‘not a smidgen’ of evidence of corruption.
Then all of the evidence can’t be found.
Anyone being ‘interviewed’ can gaze at their fingernails and murmur “Sorry – can’t remember a thing”.
Then the chief prosecutor can meet secretly with Trump’s wife and they can discuss the weather.
And all of the people being investigated can meet together while they are being interviewed so they can discuss the questions before they come up with an answer.
No homes or offices will be raided.
No one has to answer anything under oath.
Ha! As I said months ago, one good thing about a Trump presidency – at least now we’ll have the press trying to actually do their job and some accountability will return.

Issa barely won in his restructured district so this is not a unusual position to take.
I like Issa but his tenure as the Chairman of the committee looking in on all those Obama outrages did not accomplish much of anything.

Issa has a point. Every “Impeach The Bastard!”” leftist would be screaming “the fix is in!” if the investigation is conducted by anyone in the Administration. Issa likes and respects Sessions, as well as Trump and others. Even a Congressional investigation would reek to high heaven with partisan bickering complete with Nancy and little Dick Durbin mugging for the cameras every night in feigned outrage and getting Paul all beside himself with glee.
Currently there are 3 FBI probes into the Putingate affair. They can report to Congress and see if there is any ‘there’ there. You just don’t pull a Special Prospecutor out of thin affair to go fishing. There are probably 5 Congressial/Senate Committees going on or will go on. Maybe 6. Just cause Maxine Waters says something is there doesn’t mean she is all there. Let’s see how Congress and Sessions proceed. Let the FBI do their thing. The FBI’s job is to investigate.
Just shows Issa is a honorable and smart politician. He is not calling for a Special Prosecuter, just dealing with a hypothetical situation. One tough hard hitting investigator himself if you ever watched him grill people before his committee. No nonsense kind of guy. Plus, his distrust is turning blue. ๐
It also shows that 3 FBI investigations are going on into Russian interference, influence, and messing with us. Ministry of Propaganda vs our Ministry of Propaganda. What is so surprising about knowing that there a 3 FBI probes going on is it took years to find out there is an open criminal investigation into the Foundation, and we learned that just months ago. I smell McCain and the Dogs of War.

Brad C. Yep, you are right. After all, the Obama Administration classified vets gun owners, Evangelical Christians, chaplains, white people….just about everybody in the Basket of Deplorables as Radical White Domestic Terrorists, putting us ahead of environmental terrorists for the first time.
So, you got your home grown Terrorists right here. Me, for one. Now, let’s say 3% of any population are terrorist. Stats and all that stuff. Why would you want to let 10,000 Islamic people in knowing that 3% are/would be radicalized and add 300 more to the crazy mix we already have here? We got are hands full with the homegrowns already and you want to add to the mess? That’s real glucked up, man.

There were specific things revealed from the stolen emails that the Russians allegedly provided to Wikileaks that were featured in a major way in Trumps campaign. You know stuff from the DNC that led to the resignation of key campaign heads and there is no doubt that Trump benefited from and exploited this information in his campaign. How that affected this close election is up to speculation There are serious allegations and concerns from US intelligence that the Russians were involved in the process so a special investigation is necessary to clear this up.
George, can you say to me that if it was the other way around with Clinton being accused that you would have the same attitude?

There was an interesting moment at the DNC election today, while they were handing out wifi voting devices to the delegates there was a sudden change. Acting DNC chair Donna ‘here’s the questions’ Brazile suddenly ordered paper ballots to be handed out and the first ballot was done the old fashioned way. Is anyone surprised by the democrats skittishness with those modern computer based thingies? ๐

Hi! Just popped in to grab a cup of mud….and coffe, my drug of choice.
First, let Paul run with it. Second, I never read Paul’s link about Issa. Third, and this is the big one, Issa said he would like a special investigation or wants one. Fine.
Now, in politics one never takes things at face value. Wide canyon between like to see one, want to see one, and…and…CALLING for a Special Prosecutor. Maybe he was floating a trial ballon to see the response. Maybe it is only about digging into Russia’s part. Heck, the big wigs that have already lied to Congress twice (CIA Director and NSA chief at the time) are gone and others with them. What, call Loretta Lynch in?
But, I saw how pissed off Issa was at the State Department when he was going after Hillary. And Justice. They literally stalled and stalled until the two year Congress term expired and the changing of the committee guard. 19 months and still waiting for documents from Kennedy at State, who, BTW, is gone as well.
Maybe, just maybe, Issa is licking his chops waiting to get some Intel out of the Black Hole of government and shove it down Hillary’s windpipe. Maybe.
Or maybe take his comment at face value. Congress is on recess right now, so we will just have to see what happens when they all get back into one place and chew the fat.
Keith E. Harkim already had called for impeachment. Bet he wins the DNC chair today. If they don’t elect a brother then the urban sewer rats will start rioting downtown and busting things up. No, Ellison is in because of his skin. Perez is in Hillary’s pocket. Later.

Modern politics has lead to a certain amount of life simplification, though. Republicans = strongly pro-Israel. Democrats = strongly pro-Arab/Islam.
