    Just noticed an interesting factoid, might have been mentioned here already: Trump lost by 11 million votes if you count everyone who voted ‘not for Trump’.

Bill Gates may want to take a refresher course on robotics. ‘Robots’ (aka AI) have already been integrated into and marbled through workflows in industry so that it is very hard to tell where one ‘robot’ stops and another starts, or to count how many ‘robots’ are involved in this vs that enterprise. The man seems to think of robots as being the distinct anthropomorphized critters in the 1950 and Star Wars sci-fi movies. Maybe he was misquoted.

    PaulE 823pm – It really seems that you are ever the local lackey of the lamestream, a job you should definitely eschew. I am still a bit amazed that you claimed not to be able to find the FN report on the ‘invasion of Sweden’ that the rest of the country had no trouble accessing and talking about. But to your and your cohorts’ point about Trump getting that news from TV. Well yes, we all do since the Muslim onslaught of Europe is routinely covered up by the lamestream on both sides of the Atlantic. And when the occasional report breaks through describing the ongoing atrocities in European cities, we along with the President take notice and express our pent up reaction in a manner that exceeds such reactions were we submitted to a daily dose of ongoing rapes, robberies, and murders in the face of Europe’s cowering constabularies.
    Sweden’s reaction to Trump’s characterization is understandable – they want to keep that devastation a secret because it hits them in their tourist budget besides making their progressive politicians look like sniveling assholes. But your focusing on Trump’s overreach (which millions of us liked) instead of acknowledging the real global problems with Islamic migrations and the raghead terror that makes softer heads countenance it, is in my mind regrettable. When you do that, it looks as if you held no strategic thought in your head beyond how can we best cripple Trump.

    That really is peculiar, isn’t it?
    I had a fine breakfast this morning while idly watching youtube videos of rioting in Paris. The seemingly endless crowds of young males in track suits with cell phones, combined with the odd wearer of Anarchist-chic and the occasional Green Libertarian, are pretty remarkable.
    My experiment was to see just how much of that particular bit of news I could track down on the major networks and newspapers. The Ministry of Truth seems to have been pretty busy lately as there was scarcely anything to be found.

    Boy, Brad is really enjoying President’s Day. Hope it’s a paid day off for our friend.
    This immigration thing needs to be broken down into parts. We have illegal immigration entry via the southern border, the Islamic immigration via the Middle East and Europe, and those that overstay their Visas of both groups. Then there is the issue of blocking border jumping new arrives (without papers) versus those that have been here awhile and set up shop and play house.
    The most recent Ruminations has a place to put thoughts on Trump’s Arab Plan. If figures are correct, we can build shelters and safe zones for Syrian (and other Arabs displaced by war) for one tenth the cost of settling them here. Lord knows those refugee camps currently are breeding grounds for radicalization and recruitment for the Jihad. If things settle down, those in the “Trump Camps” and economic migrants can return home.

    A total of 12,942 people were killed in the United States in 2015 in a gun homicide, unintentional shooting, or murder-suicide.
    This was just one year, Seems like deaths by Muslim terrorists is a pittance compared to this slaughter.

    Ah yes, another compilation of gun deaths in a free society. The not-so-subtle drumbeat to confiscate guns (‘Well we wouldn’t take all of them …’) continues. And whatever you do, don’t compile the annual count of Muslim terrorist deaths worldwide, so you can argue for open borders for the unvetted and illegals. Isn’t one death is like any other death?

    Also, since our law enforcement techniques are usually better than most other countries (except for Orlando and SanBerdo) we have dodged those suicide bombers for the most part. Seems to me these possible suicide bombers are dissuaded by the American values we try to instill in people. Especially Christian values of the sanctity of life.

    This morning I received a Designated Reader Report in my email that contained the latest outpouring from the Moral Highground regarding a letter to The Union from my bride. The responses were the usual save for a couple of interesting twists. Jo Ann was called a “Stepford Wife” because the lefties, contrary to their mouthings, don’t believe that women can have and express their own thoughts – they are nothing but their husbands’ sock puppets. What contributes even more humor to how abysmally uninformed these local yokels are is that they attribute this letter as her belated coming out effort. Even their leading intellectual light muses “maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say. You tell me. But plenty of people have written that. She was extremely quiet, and it looked like she had nothing to say. A lot of people have said that.” Any perusal of the newspaper’s record reveals her long list of contributions and even a partial list of her work in the community. But then again, we may once more lay those deficits on the union public schools which regularly pumps out graduates with clamped curiosities and capabilities. They are doing the best they can.

    In Sweden it is against the law to have a baseball bat under your bed. The 2nd Amendment was not written to protect us from herds of stampeding reindeer. We are stuck with the right to bear arms, good, bad, and indifferent. Same with the rest of the rights that precede governmen and are not bestowed by government..
    Stats do not matter. Death rates are of little import. The current laws should be sufficient in a perfect world. But, the first man Cain killed his younger brother, the 2nd man. We have the 2nd Amendment because we do not live in a perfect world and because governments and neighbors alike are humans, imperfect humans.
    The beauty of our Nation is the ability to govern ourselves.

    Jo Ann Rebane is on to something. Sorry to see a poster consider her reaching out to our suffering fellow pilgrims on life’s journey as “mean spirited”. Hmmm. I saw love, not meanness in her letter to The Union. I saw a humanitarian peddling a touch of hope.
    There are enough articles out there from therapists and esteemed psychologists that consider the symptoms the Losers exhibit are the same as PTSD, if not clinically one and the same disorder.
    Their anger is real. Their despair and anxiety is real. Their uncontrollable outbursts are real. I ain’t no shrink, but if the shrinks say they are not faking the meltdown, then I will go along with it being PSTD until it’s called something else.
    While I concur with most of Jo Ann’s points, there is one small point of disagreement: Yoga. The way I see it, most of the Snowflakes are already into Yoga. It’s not helping, so I would not list Yoga as a possible solution to dealing with the devastating turmoil Trump’s victory has wrought upon the Losers. I just don’t see Yoga helping them much, if any.
    But, then again, imagine what they would be like without Yoga. Nevermind. 🙂

    The “why” hardly matters anymore. Gun control is dead in the US as a political issue Paul. Sugar Frosted Barry O’s truly was the greatest gun salesman in US history….better even than the Clintons! Wish I’d been smart enough to know what failures they were going to be about the issue …..I could have cleaned up financially! And since the bulk of those casualty numbers come from progressively administered urban areas nobody really cares. Just keep in on the Rez as it were!
    Those who do care have moved to much safer environs like Nevada City, Truckee, etc…..places where progressives can lament the problem but not have their noses rubbed in it.
    Now about you giving up your car……we should look into it!

    To be fair, Trump did better as a percentage than Nixon, Clinton, or Lincoln. A good queston, should Lincoln have been made President, or should there have been a runoff? How would history be different?
    On the flip side, the Presidents with the highest percentage of the popular vote were Harding and Coolidge.

Unfortunately all of my nostrums encounter overwhelming opposition from our progressives in country who 1) do not believe that black lives matter, and 2) who use the ghetto casualty lists to serve their own command and control agendas.
