   No you idiotic democratic tool news man @ 741! I am on record as recognizing that there is a lot of the world where that issue is viewed differently. The gay community in CA is very conflicted on this and has had an active ongoing conversation for decades. Do you ever get out of Nevada city to the big cities for any real amount of time?
   You, like many such as the SCB guy make the mistake of projecting your lily whiteness on to me.
   I am secure in my space, unlike so many I do not need to post pictures on line every day to tell everyone how great I am.
   I just get things done with my very diverse friends across the country , not everything just is about weed PE. 😉

    The article later says “According to Lamphier’s attorney, Stephen Munkelt, the expert reviewed the prosecution report on the material contained on the hard drives and felt there was no evidence that Lamphier knowingly possessed child porn….Superior Court Judge Linda Sloven sentenced Lamphier to one year probation and declined to impose search and seizure terms on any electronic devices ” He wasnot required to register as a sex offender.

    OMG, Munkelt said it bitches, bow down one and all. “obscene matter” was the down plea to prevent a trial where it all would become open record. The DA should have stood tall and made it record. So why are you reflexively genuflecting and protecting the convicted perv and harhsing the gay community?

    Paul – you brought this up about Milo. You are using these accusations to excuse the left wing fascist violence in Berkeley. Now you’re backing down your little ladder of high moral virtue faster than a skittering little rat.
    You have repeated your ignorance about Polanski and then you start trying to change the subject back to gun violence.
    If you are so interested in gun violence, why did you bring up the issue with Milo?
    If you want to talk about the propriety of allowing folks to speak in public that have been accused of ‘possibly’ condoning pedophelia then let us have that conversation. If you want to talk about gun violence, that can occur as well.
    ‘Apparently’ – Paul Emery thinks actual cases of child rape are somehow not to be discussed past a certain time limit. Perhaps Paul can tell us what that time limit is and what political bent one needs to be in order to be eligible for that time limit.

    Paul, “gun related deaths” come in a few types… justifiable, manslaughter, murder, suicide, negligence both civil and criminal. Propose a solution that you think meets your constraints, we’ll talk. Please also tell us why this solution is constitutional in all the other ways… for example, you can’t put felons in jail again for merely possessing a gun that is only illegal because it’s unregistered. Ask me why if you want to understand… one of the first 10 amendments. So any registration scheme only affects the otherwise law abiding, without a violent past or present intent, caught on a technicality there as a gotcha!
    Expect numerical and other sleights of hand to be unraveled… a “gun death” that just gets moved to another column isn’t an improvement and can be much worse, such as someone, like “Miller” from US v. Miller who declared in court that he needed an illegally short shotgun for protection from some real bad guys, who, it has been speculated, might have been the one(s) murdered him before his appeal to the SCOTUS was heard.
    I recall this factoid circa the 1980’s… stats from the ’80’s regarding domestic homicides… 90% of all domestic homicides were at homes where law enforcement had visited at least once for domestic violence, and fully half in the area studied showed at five or more police visits. I’ve yet to meet a cop with experience for whom it doesn’t ring true.
    Let me draw the picture for you… it’s mostly people the police know because of the violent lives they lead. It isn’t Ozzie and Harriet fighting over the tv remote.
    Let’s also accept the “standard model” of the 2nd Amendment that was adopted by recent SCOTUS decisions. Let’s hear your “reasonable restrictions” that may well have been tried in the past and found to be ineffective.
    We also have well formed civil and criminal law that involve rights to self defense… even in California. Your move, Paul.

    Can’t figure out what Polanski has to do with me Scott. It was suggested we have a conversation about something useful so I used solutions to ease gun violence as an example of something we could talk about. Scott Milo advocated sex with children in his video. Did you read the transcript from the link I provided. Don suggested I’m not worldly enough to appreciate what other cultures believe in noting that Milo was British not American. Then he diverted to Terry Lamphier which occupied some inc on these pages.
    You’re starting to sputter Don. Slow down and compose yourself. I only presented what the legal decision was in the Terry L case. Of course you prefer to be the Judge and Jury so blurt away but it means nothing.

    He makes a plausible claim that in the gay slang he slipped into, young boy means a young man, not someone necessarily below the age of consent.
    Perhaps someone can remind us of the canonized Democratic Senator who got a pass from his colleagues after scandals involving rumpy-bumpy* with 16 year old boys who were pages, because in Washington DC 16 is the age of consent, but I’m guessing not where the boy’s parents lived when they signed the consent forms for them to take the position (meaning the job, not the, umm, never mind).
    *New slang to me at least, used on a Swedish language cop show of some repute. Seasons 2 and 3 are on NETFLIX. This Wallander version has a number of the actors from the originally released Girl With the Dragon Tattoo/Men Who Hate Women/Millennium series. Both Nordic Noir, adapted from Swedish novels. There’s also a Wallander with Kenneth Branagh produced in the UK… that’s next on the menu here.

    Maybe you need to have an adult help you with this. I very carefully pointed out folks who actually did commit sex crimes that the left has no trouble hearing from and are allowed a public platform.
    Milo is on the wrong side of the political line, so suddenly he’s poison for merely discussing the subject. Please don’t lecture me on ‘did you read…” BS. As usual, I’m way ahead of you on this subject.

    Well, gun control works pretty good in Chicago, home of some of the strictest gun control in the nation. We can save more lives by continuing to crack down on impaired drivers.
    Or, we can look to Chicago for guidance. Or, have another Old Fart Black Caucus protest sitting on the House floor trying to uncross their legs to get up for cartered food. Or, we could have had a Independent Prosecutor look into Fast and Furious.
    Gun deaths are a problem in the ghettos run by Dems. Everyone of them. Clean up the criminals and low live scum and the streets in the Democrat run cities would be safer.

    PaulE 214pm – Re Todd’s gun deaths calculus, he has a point. It is true that the US presents more opportunities for all types of gun deaths – e.g. from premeditated murder through accidents – and therefore the comparisons of per capita ratios involves some apples/oranges comparisons. Sweden is smaller and culturally coherent (now being compromises by its Muslim migration). This attribute alone serves to remove the many US gun death encounters that start with ‘he’s not like me’ and ‘I’m not sure what he’ll do next’. Were Sweden to be equally diverse, we would see its per capita ‘gun violence’ ratio go up, as is its current inter-cultural crime rate involving Muslims. I hope that this short summary communicates how such differences contribute to societal conflicts which include intentional shootings.
