‘YES, California!’ draws more than a smile from some of us longtime prescients who witness the ongoing dissolution of the America our forebears and we have labored to build.  In these pages and on some other commentariats this has been labeled as the coming Great Divide.  There is no agreement in which of the many possible forms the Great Divide will be realized, only that the American schisms along educational, ideological, and cultural fault lines will bring us to the country’s promised fundamental transformation.

CApresident2016The pre-educated of the Left (especially of the local variety) have screamed their opposition to such a divide for all the reasons that in California they have suddenly embraced a fortiori.  Our left coast socialists have upped the ante – no more regional confederacies or ideological bifurcation of existing states – to a complete break to create a new sovereign nation-state distinct from what was the USA.  And why?  They lost their previously pre-ordained election.

The last time such audacious ideas were put into practice was during the War for Southern Independence which the victorious North misnamed the Civil War.  Our Constitution does not prevent secession, but subsequent SCOTUS decisions have concluded that secession is only possible through “revolution or consent of the States”.  The country’s political climate has not changed sufficiently to permit either path forward.  But that the Left is now on record for fomenting such a solution, should eternally highlight their recorded hypocrisy in opposing other penultimate Great Divide solutions.

The just concluded election was both historical and hysterical in that it castrated the long-running dominance of the Democrats.  The Republicans not only dominate governorships and state legislatures, but have also swept the federal government by delivering the trifecta of POTUS, COTUS, and soon SCOTUS.  The bankrupt public policies of the Democrats survive only in the densely packed coastal stacks of the terminally dependent comprised of corporatists, academics, and the inner cities’ plantation dwellers.

But here in our little (pop ca 98K) mountain county we have not escaped the spread of the socialist acne that continues to reach out into idyllic inland communities and to sprout its boils of politically correct public pus which inevitably destroy the comity and commerce of the communities they come to infest.  Progressives spread through the easily understood practice of always fouling the nests they inhabit, and then moving on to more pristine environs to repeat the process.  Looking at the election map of California, we see that our Nevada County has now become such a pimple.  From the local celebrations of making these hills safe for socialists, we already hear shouts of ‘Today the county, tomorrow the state, and then the world!’  Kinda reminds one of ISIS.

Meanwhile in the real world other western countries are beginning to revisit their populist pasts following today’s examples set by innumerable second and third world countries where unquestioned populism and cultural cohesion has reigned for centuries.  Through our diabolical globalist worldview we are taught that what for them continues to be a natural veneration of their historical cultures, for us has suddenly become the practice of the worst kind of xenophobia and racism.  They can live happily in the midst of theirs, while we dare not attempt the same joys in the midst of ours.  And yet, they now want ‘YES, California!’

I like the tweets. Mostly because it makes him normal and he usually says what is popular or what regular folks are thinking or believing. The tweet on millions of voter frauds, why not? Why can’t he say that? Many think it. And the left has always alleged it. And now today he said flag burning deserves a jail time stay or loss of citizenship. Same thing. Most people are into that. Paul Emery doesn’t like Trump and has belittled him endlessly. I really don’t care what he says. He lost with his toss away votes and we won. We get to see a bit of change.
Regarding Trump’s picks today. I could care less that a Wall Streeter with a Trump crush is Treasury Secretary. And Elaine is fine, she worked as Bush’s Labor gal and is all in for “right to work” and other stuff I support.

“Snotty-I like that Gregory. Haven’t heard that since third grade. Which “right” are you talking about?”
Paul, let me help you with your vocabulary:
    snotty
    1. dirty with nasal discharge
    2. slang contemptible; nasty
    3. snobbish; conceited
Now, let’s revisit my comment with your snotty remark:

“He certainly reflects on the consciousness of those who support him.”
    ding ding ding ding
Give that man a kewpie doll for illustrating the snotty disdain the left has for the right!

    Can you hear me now?
Paul, that snotty remark (along with your long favored “Pubbies” diminutive) shows your essential contempt for folks who disagree with you culturally and politically, and that is, to a great extent, responsible for the Trump phenomenon. I doubt even many out and out Trumpers resemble Trump’s consciousness at all. A Presidential vote isn’t a vote for the guy most like you… LIB candidate Badnarik was perhaps my least favorite LIB candidate (besides Harry Browne in his second run) as if I thought a paunchy software engineer who didn’t get out enough was a perfect candidate, I’d run for President myself. People vote for the candidate they think, in the Zeitgeist, is the most able to move the country forward.
Hillary could only beat the old socialist with cheating by Democratic Party insiders on her behalf, and with the overt help of what used to be a free and at least nominally balanced press that instead was part of her campaign team.
Both Trump and Sanders were outsiders (Sanders an outsider in that he’d basically had zero leadership impact on the Senate and wasn’t a Democrat), and it was a year for outsiders. Clinton was the ultimate insider, especially for an outsider who really never was a leader in the Senate, her only elective office. She did like living in the White House for eight years despite her husband never winning a majority of the popular vote.
So, rather than “Pubbies” or other snotty remarks, how about just treating GOP voters and candidates like people? Is that really too much to ask for a local community radio news director?

Hmmm — Going Blue has consequences
There are 3,141 counties in the United States.
    Trump won 3,084 of them.
Clinton won 57, one of which was Nevada County.
After examining the social rot that exists in many of those Clinton Counties ones has to wonder what Nevada County’s future is? Most of these Counties have been under Democratic thumbs for years, promoting progressive social structures that have encouraged the decline in standards, morals, dignity, religious faith, and governing by a decadent elite.
Will this be Nevada County’s future?

    A 47%/44% Hillary/Trump split is far from a settled issue. That’s Toss-Up territory.
The Blue Meanies are trying to lay claim to the future of the county and, more importantly, they wish to ignore their neighbors who disagree with them.
Think Pelline yelling at subordinates, browbeating people in the local news. Rubes don’t get a say.
The Blue Meanies may prevail but the One Party State headquartered in Sacramento will not survive bankruptcy, nor will it survive the collapse of the Global Warming campaign. In fact, both may well hit simultaneously as Sacramento realizes there will be no payoff for leading the charge to a carbon free future.
What I’ve been hoping for since 1980 when I bailed from the Democratic Party is for the DP to implode, with the moderates becoming more libertarian, and either a competitive Libertarian Party or a Democratic Party redux back to its libertarian roots is the result. We may get there yet.
So far, despite the state being essentially bankrupt, they can still borrow money and write checks. Must be in good shape, we’ll keep rearranging the Titanic’s deck chairs to make it right.
Pelline will write anything to get his Blue Meanies ahead.

Now Gregory “Independent Software Engineer at My Place”/still sore that Prop. 23 lost” Goodknight weighs in: “We have a toss up county, not Deep Blue.” No, Gregory, we have a ‘blue’ county, not “toss up” and not “deep blue.” You are the “outlier.”
Nevada County as a 974 square mile safe space for a delicate lad who is going to make sure you know exactly the shade of blue his county is……out to the second decimal place!

Yes, Pelline’s keeping with that big lie. No, I never promoted Prop 23, no, I was never mourning the loss. Unlike Pelline’s readers who were sobbing for days after the Trump election, seeing the death of the future they knew they’d be waking up to after the election.
Poor cupcakes. Chamomile tea and puppies for everyone.
We’d have been better with Prop 23 gutting AB 32 temporarily, but it was a weaseling around a real debate over the Issue That Shall Not Be Discussed.
I was relieved when Trump won over Clinton, but 75% because of the Supreme Court, and 25% because Clinton would have been, hands down, the most corrupt President in our history. The problem the country (and the state) has going forward is that we’ve had our noses rubbed into the fact that across the country, journalism schools and newsrooms are breeding Little Pellines more interested in TRUTH (in the Pravda sense) than accurate and dispassionate reporting.

Pelline trumped up an entire post about the gun violence incitement at Todd’s blog becuse someone suggested a duel, with single shot black powder relics) between one GOP representative, and one Democrat.
I’m going to make a wild guess that Pelline really hated that, worrying there might not be enough DEM shooters in the risk pool for it to be a fair duel.
I’ll go further… let’s issue hunting licenses. Make them more expensive than a Bighorn Sheep tag. You can take down a Democrat, or a Republican. Your choice.
This is a variation of PJ O’Rourke’s solution for Social Security insolvency… let the young take out the old people. The bonus for old folks was they could shoot back, and he was looking forward to taking out some Sinead O’Connor fans before he checked out himself.
One of the great truths of modern American politics… the hard left Democrats have no ability to laugh at themselves. No sense of humor pointed inwards by the hopelessly Politically Correct.
