ALL authorizations of government actions not related to national security shall be identified to the specific person responsible, duly recorded and archived citing applicable authority, and subsequently made available to the public upon legitimate inquiry.  ALL such government actions whose authorizations turn out anonymous shall immediately be deemed illegal on their face, and those affected will have just cause to seek redress, including rapid injunctive relief, through the courts.  Proposed constitutional amendment from Rebane Doctrine.

“Yahoo secretly scanned customer emails for US intelligence” reports Reuters (here).  Already an internet company on its last legs, Yahoo decided to get in the bag with the fed intelligence agencies and write a program that scans customer emails in real time looking for keywords and phrases prescribed by the agencies.  They appear to be the first to cave after Apple made its refusal to do so very public last year.  As readers here know, if it’s on the internet it is there for all to see and forever. (H/Ts to correspondent and also commenter in last sandbox.)

Obamacare, “the craziest thing in the world” is now the public assessment of Sweet William.  The cynically named Affordable Care Act has been a failure from the gitgo with mounting outrages reported monthly for the last six years, and even more being kept hidden by the feds and their lamestream lackeys.  Even Democrats are now abandoning this festering pile of garbage.  Nevertheless, the intellectual deficits of our electorate are still highlighted by Hillary’s poll numbers as she continues to laud and take credit for Obama regime policies while out of the other side of her mouth she promises an endless number of fixes that are testimonials to eight years of failure in EVERY aspect of governance.

The Pence/Kaine debate sure showed another glaring difference in this November’s choices.  Kaine, who to me looks and talks like an amalgam of a shyster lawyer and a used car salesman, couldn’t keep his mouth shut during Mike Pence’s turns to answer – Kaine interrupted Pence over 70 times.  His own apologetics for the new policies of HillaryCare (not to be confused with the failed attempt in the 90s) illustrated the low grade ore that we can expect at best if Mrs Clinton wins.  My proposal for all future debates is to seat both candidates in soundproof glass ‘isolation booths’.  The moderator would have the ability to switch on/off the mike in either booth.  This would let a more civilized debate be delivered even by weak moderators like last night’s Elaine Quijano of CBS News who could not control the loudmouthed lout Kaine.  The debate continued to highlight the Left's determined effort to stifle the speech of their opponents.

[6oct16 update] Yesterday the Cato Institute released its 13th biennial comprehensive assessment of state governors – ‘Fiscal Policy Report Card on America’s Governors – 2016’ – which “uses statistical data to grade the governors on their taxing and spending records—governors who have cut taxes and spending the most receive the highest grades, while those who have increased taxes and spending the most receive the lowest grades. … Five governors were awarded an “A” on this report: Paul LePage of Maine, Pat McCrory of North Carolina, Rick Scott of Florida, Doug Ducey of Arizona, and Mike Pence of Indiana. Ten governors were awarded an “F”: Robert Bentley of Alabama, Peter Shumlin of Vermont, Jerry Brown of California, David Ige of Hawaii, Dan Malloy of Connecticut, Dennis Daugaard of South Dakota, Brian Sandoval of Nevada, Kate Brown of Oregon, Jay Inslee of Washington, and Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania.”

As expected, California occupies its usual place in the bottom of the barrel when it comes to benefiting its citizens.  NPR reported this morning that Moonbeam intends to yet again increase taxes on the "rich" to pay for the state's eternal shortfalls in education.  Nevada County's Measure B school bond issue brings it all home.

[7oct16 update]  The spiraling Insanity of liberalism.  Football coach fired for making a repeat offender bully take a couple of laps.  Reason?  He wasn’t trained to specifically handle bullying situations according to new state norms, therefore he should have let it pass again with an admonishment.  The long past tipping point is fast disappearing in the rear view mirror.  (more here)

[8oct16 update]  Today The Union reports that the musical chairs for the principal's job at Nevada Union HS continues.  This reminds us that a major scourge of progressivism's one-size fits all rules of political correctness is that it discourages good creative and competent leadership.  No capable person with alternatives wants to be saddled with a job that requires hewing to a slavish set of constraints in what can and should be done that are mandated from above.  Such a policy, now practiced across the land, leaves only the mediocre and meek dolts and grinders to manage our public institutions.  This is one of the many diseases of collectivism that brought down the USSR, and today continues to make life miserable in socialist/communist countries.  Sadly, many of these nations are held up to our youth as role models for a more perfect United States.

Yes indeed George, Kaine seems to have a bad case of Trump mouth. Must be contagious. He was without the Cocaine-ish snorts however which means he has better breathing techniques.
George, just thought I’d let you know our whiskey bet odds are looking better for me now with Hillary at 75-25 after her surge following Trumps recent collapse in the polls. I know we’re set at 1-3. This link is tracking Nate Silvers odds for likely outcome.

….and why wouldn’t Paul vote for Hillary when she can inspire youth like this?!
“At a Hillary Clinton town hall yesterday in Haverford, Pennsylvania, a 15 year old girl was supposedly “chosen at random” to ask a question of the former Secretary of State. But, the well-scripted performance raised some suspicion with a YouTuber named Spanglevision who decided to dig a little deeper. And, wouldn’t you know it, the “random” participant was none other than child actor, Brennan Leach, whose father just happens to be Pennsylvania democratic State Senator Daylin Leach. Oh, and in case it wasn’t obvious, Daylin supports Hillary for president…shocking.”

So, here was the original question from Brennan:
    Brennan:
“Hi Madam Secretary. I’m Brennan and I’m 15 years old. At my school, body image is a really big issue for girls my age. I see with my own eyes the damage Donald Trump does when he talks about women and how they look. As the first female president how would you undo some of that damage and help girls understand that they’re so much more than just what they look like?”
And here was Hillary’s attempt at knocking the soft ball out of the park…it’s almost like she knew the question was coming.
    Hillary:
“I’m so proud of you for asking that question. You are right — my opponent has just taken this concern to a new level of difficulty and meanness. And, it’s shocking when women are called names and judged solely on the basis of physical attributes.
“My opponent insulted Miss Universe. I mean, how do you get more acclaimed than that? But, it wasn’t good enough. So we can’t take any of this seriously any more. We need to laugh at it. We need to refute it. We need to ignore it. And we need to stand up to it.”

PaulE 1255pm – Hillary/Kaine seems to be a gift that just keeps on giving. Think of all the joy they have brought you over the last months anticipating Trump’s defeat. No matter what happens in November, you have all that in the bank – as the song says ‘… they can’t take that away from meeee.’ And should my flag fly at half staff on 9 November, their victory would be like icing on your cake. If Hillary wins, better buy an extra gun or two on your wish list.Your chances of getting them might be greatly diminished. I just got the Mrs. a new gun. A .22 that’s built on the 1911 platform. It looks like a 1/4 scale .45 .

Ok, did anyone watch the debate? Not I. To tell the truth, I only watched 15 minutes of the Trump debate and had the rest on as background noise as I have started another outdoorsy project. The next day I flipped through the dial and Rush did the same thing as I did. So did Savage. Multi-tasking. Caught a bit, then got busy with other things. I did not even try to find the VP debate last night. So has anybody watched the whole agonizing full shebang(s? I don’t need to. I know how this story is going to end.
But, I heard one clip today from last night that put my mind at ease. Kaine said because of Hillary’s keeping the Iranians from getting nukes,we are safer today than we were 8 years ago. I feel safer and I bet you do too.
Heard two commentators both mention a likeness to Jack Nicholas when referring to Hillary’s VP choice. No, not the Shinning. One was reminded of Jack in One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Next and the other said Jack Nicholas’s facial expressions in general. I snooze I loose.

Soundproof booths are a particularly silly idea for debates… how about mild electric shocks administered automatically by voice analyzers for candidates who interrupt the answer of their opponent? Now that would be entertaining… ooops.
Pence did well to keep calm and not take the bait.
One of the out of context and false claims by Kaine was that “Trump called Mexicans rapists”. No he didn’t, but that distortion has become as common knowledge as the certainty that Sarah Palin said she can see Russia from her house.
He also didn’t say the judge in his “Trump University” case couldn’t be fair because he was Mexican, or because his parents were Mexican, but that has also passed into common knowledge.
People like Kaine can make stuff up far faster than anyone can dissect their statements and show how far off from reality they are… I’m not sure what would be worse… that he knew how false and misleading he has been, or that he was oblivious to reality.
Standard disclaimer… I’ve never been a Republican, have never voted in a GOP primary and won’t be voting for Trump, who is up a tiny bit to 4.0% over Clinton in today’s USC/LA TImes poll, and 2% up at Rassmussen.

Gregory 910am – Now what would make such booths “a particularly silly idea for debates” that are moderated with rules that debaters speak only in response to the moderator’s questions or invitations to respond, and NOT engage in spontaneous conversation with the other debater(s)? I would much rather hear what one debater has to say than listen to a cacophony of everyone talking at once (including the moderator trying to regain control). But then again, different strokes for different folks.

Well you’ve gotta admit that Hillary Clinton’s escapades is like watching a cloak and dagger movie….Julian Assange wrote “So, those Hillary Clinton emails, they connect together with the cables that we have published of Hillary Clinton, creating a rich picture of how Hillary Clinton performs in office, but, more broadly, how the U.S. Department of State operates. So, for example, the disastrous, absolutely disastrous intervention in Libya, the destruction of the Gaddafi government, which led to the occupation of ISIS of large segments of that country, weapons flows going over to Syria, being pushed by Hillary Clinton, into jihadists within Syria, including ISIS, that’s there in those emails. There’s more than 1,700 emails in Hillary Clinton’s collection, that we have released, just about Libya alone.”
In other words, why the FBI gave Clinton a Pass…
Obama’s Conflict Tanked the Clinton E-mail Investigation — As Predicted President Obama’s use of an alias to e-mail Hillary may be the reason why her e-mail scandal never had a chance of leading to criminal charges…because he would be guilty of a breach of national security too?
This is so ironic. Hillary Clinton’s and President Obama’s predicament. The fact that Iran likely possesses a complete set of the Clinton-Obama emails might explain the billions of dollars of cash shipments to Iran. Not only ransom but blackmail?

The “debates” are totally voluntary and, in essence, a joint venture of the campaigns. They get what they want.
If they wanted to conduct themselves as Lincoln & Douglas, or even Kennedy & Nixon, they could. They don’t. Lucite boxes to force them to be something they don’t want to be are not in the cards.
A better choice would be no moderator. Just the candidates. Or a competent moderator (or better yet, a master of ceremonies) chosen by the candidates themselves.

The remedy for the current format is a real “moderator” if there is to be one. I suspect either Tony Snow or Tim Russert would be perfect if there was some way to get them resurrected in time for the last debate. However, I doubt there is any current network level “news reader” up to the task.
So far, the supposed best NBC and CBS have to offer have come up very short.

Get a real 22 pistol like any of the Ruger classic Mark III semis, or the their western single-action Single Six (My wife owns the former and I have had my Single Six for over 50 years; it was the model I learned to fast draw with during my more impetuous years.)
