[OK, the last one filled super-fast. Time to talk about the truck attack in Nice, and what that portends for future easy-to-execute lone wolf terror on our shores. And why is the lamestream again trying to represent this Muslim as a confused man with family troubles, instead of someone who was organized enough to assemble quite a collection of guns and grenades with which he intended more misery than he delivered? And then there’s Trump’s announcement of Pence as his Number Two. And now the coup in Turkey. We must recall the words of Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, “Islam is Islam; there are no modifiers. Democracy is the train we ride to our ultimate objective.” gjr]

The Turkish military has had enough of the ISIS coddling PM Erdogan and have mounted a coup. Historically the military has been the protector of the secular constitution in Turkey. If they pull this off you could expect a tougher line on ISIS and muslum brotherhood.
Getting a strong southern NATO partner against jhihadis again could be a big help. Then you have the whole issue of them no longer letting masses cross to continental Europe without vetting.
Anyone want to make odds on the coups success?

Don, no bets on that one…just yet.
The Turks see the Kurds as the biggest threat to their homeland tranquility. Erdogan was been decrying ISIS with one side of his mouth and allowing ISIS safe passage with the other.
Middle East politics are complex. The good guys fight the bad guys one day, and the next day the bad guys are the good guys, and then the following day the good guys join forces with the bad guys. They change alliances and sides like a watchful mother changes an infant’s diapers.
No wonder they call them Islamics “a den of thieves”. Ali Babba and his forty thieves is an apt description.
Read somewhere that the Turkish army is the 4th largest standing army on Earth. That is a heck of an eye opener, even if that figure is wrong and they only the 6th. Big big army, situated between the ragheads and Europestan.
Egypt has a big standing army, enough to crush all the folded little sheet heads Palestinians in a few hours if they wanted to. But, if the recent events of the military controlled Egypt kicking out The Brotherhood (and executing all members of the terrorist organization known as the Muslim Brotherhood) is any indication, then, Mr. Don, the Turks may have a coup on their hands.
Just two things I have to know before placing bets:
1) Is the Turkish military widely respected and trusted as in is Egypt (a minor consideration), and
2) Who will Obama side with? E or the military? That is the major consideration, the biggie if you prefer. Whichever side Obama throws his weight behind, that will be the losing side in this bet. Obama has a stellar record of cuddling up to the losing side. His batting average for picking the wrong side is a thousand. My money is the on the one who Obama does not support.
Easy money, like shooting fish in a barrel.

Turks do have one of the numerically biggest Armed forces in the world. This guy has been a pain to us for years, denied transit to our troops in the past and only recently let us base attack aircraft to use against ISIS. The former (?) head has been inching toward muslim dictatorship. Purges of judges and military officers have not played well.
The final straw was perhaps the recent announcement that he was giving citizenship to the 3 million Syrians refugees in Turkey, that would give them votes in Turkey (sound like someone we know?)
Historically the military has been the secular foundation of the non-muslim government since Ataturk.

Holy smokes Don, I just checked the news! It’s going down and Obama got caught with his mom jeans around his ankles again. I thought you were more or less poiising a possible situation after reading the tea leaves. The situation is hot and fluid
NATO is the big prize for E. Turkey and the Russians have not been playing nice with each other. Iran is right there, with Russia being Iran’s trading partner. Europe needs Turkey to stop the flood of the little folded sheet heads, and….blah, blah, blah. That is just foreign policy. What’s doing down right this second is all domestic stuff. Will the bottom line result in an hard line Tyrannical Islam State or just a typical Arab Kingdom with quasi friendly ties to West????
How will this end? Will Rita get her boyfriend back? Oh, the drama.
Did read this a couple of days ago, but it didn’t mean much to me besides a possible overture to Assad. In hindsight, were new domestic coalitions and alliances being formed? A coincidence, at message to neighboring countries to chill?

Good time to sneak a “populist revolt” in the mix, but I doubt they have any true power or care about the anything but their crack at the throne. How unified is the military, or is the military having mutiny in their ranks…need to know how big of a fissure is growing in the military, if any.

BT- The interesting wrinkle in Turkey is that the military is constitutionally charged with the protection of the constitution. The Turkish prez has been jailing tons of media and shutting news outlets recently so that has 0 siding with suppression of a free press. The coup statement talked about the restoration of secular democracy. High stakes, if they screw up the coup look for a full blown islamist govt. in Turkey.

Following the Nice France attack the Diplomad 2.0 had a few strong words for President Obama.

President Obama, Islam is an existential threat to us and to our allies. Period. It seeks global domination. It will use openly military means, e.g., the ongoing battle in Syria and Iraq, guerrilla/terror means as we have seen on our own streets, and use our tolerance and belief in diversity against us.
You, the ostensible leader of the West, have failed miserably to identify the enemy and, of course, to develop a strategy, a total strategy not just a few bombing missions in Syria, to defeat this enemy. In fact, you have acted in a manner that makes many of us feel, wonder, and think if you’re not rooting for the other side. You even go out of your way to encourage Middle Eastern Muslims to emigrate to the United States. Why?
How many more innocent people must die? It’s Islam that is killing them.
President Obama you are a disgrace.

Here’s an interesting bit of reaction to a comment I left under ‘France Reveals Details on Attacker in Nice’ in today’s online WSJ (something I do very rarely). My comment read –
Perhaps I’m not the first to notice that the WSJ has finally started genuflecting to Team Obama’s rules by not mentioning the most salient fact about the terrorist, i.e. that he was also a Muslim. Apparently connecting the labels ‘Islam’ or ‘Muslim’ to the overwhelmingly predominant fraction of terror attacks is now considered a gratuitous correlation and most certainly politically very incorrect. Are we yet sufficiently contrite as a nation?
I wasn’t aware that other WSJ readers could ‘like’ my comment. Email notices of all the subsequent reader likes are pouring in. In a 1,000+ comment stream when I added mine, it is remarkable that my observation of WSJ’s moral turpitude was indeed something new. Jo Ann said ‘Don’t get a big head’ 😉

FBI update #3: Dallas Police reported its conversation with the lucid shooter behind the pillar. This was before that cute little robot was sent to de-escalate the situation.
FBI has not uncovered the motive as of this date.

BlackLivesMatter is NOT Going to Like This New Harvard Study About Police Shootings by a black Harvard Professor

The study was commissioned by Harvard economics professor Roland G. Fryer, Jr. – who happens to be black – after seeing officer-involved shootings of other black men, notably Freddie Gray and Michael Brown. As he told the Times: “You know, protesting is not my thing. But data is my thing.”
His study surveyed 1,332 police shootings involving ten large police departments in the top three states by population – California, Texas, and Florida. The study spanned shootings from the years 2000 to 2015. Fryer and his student researchers spent over 3,000 hours compiling data from police reports.
Not only did the study conclude that there wasn’t any evidence of racial bias in officer-involved shootings, but police – who had not been attacked – were actually more likely to shoot white suspects.
In addition, it was found that there was an equal number of armed white people as there were armed black people who were shot by police. This flies in the face of those in the Black Lives Matter movement who claim that police are always shooting at unarmed blacks without provocation.
This isn’t the first time this issue has been studied. The Washington Post found that there were almost twice as many whites shot and killed by police in 2015 (494) than blacks (258).

An Internet video caused Ambassor Steven’s death, a married man struggling to comes to terms with coming out of the closet caused Orlando (well, guns caused Orlando) and a bomb blast did weird to bodies in France.
I think I see a pattern here, but I don’t want to be called a conspiracy theorist….at least not before breakfast.
World Fest in town…the event got Yoga classes and demonstrations. Boy o boy, I would like to see that. Worth the price of admission.

Mr. Dozer….Have fun at the World Fest/California Fest or whatever they call it this year. Truly, I mean it. There is more to life that what we gab about here. Try as we may, we still have not solved the world’s problems….yet. I have already run the dogs by driving a couple miles down the ole country land….can’t walk around for a few weeks now, might lose foot, but it does explain my extra time on Rebane’s 5 star site. All in all, I have had bigger scratches on my eyeballs. :). I, for one, ain’t going to waste money seeing ole sawbones, but that is just me……walk around the fairgrounds for me, will ya Dozer. Tanks, tanks a rocket.
About the horse race that Hillary will easily win, barring her bonking her head again:

Just let your mind extrapolate that . You got male and female voters. Just call it 50/50 or 48/52 of anyway you wish to break of the voters by gender. More dudes will vote for Trump than dolls with vote for Hillary.

Predictions of harmful climatic effects due to future in creases in hydrocarbon use and minor greenhouse gases like CO2 do not conform to current experimental knowledge.

ABSTRACT A review of the research literature concerning the environmental consequences of increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide leads to the conclusion that increases during the 20th and early 21st centuries have produced no deleterious effects upon Earth’s weather and climate. Increased carbon dioxide has, however, markedly increased plant growth. BillT 1050am – Thank you Mr Tozer, but for the casual reader Alinsky’s simplified version of Lenin’s levels of control need to be spelled out in this comment stream. After all, they are the main tenets in the progressives’ playbook.
1) Healthcare – Control healthcare and you control the people.
2) Poverty – Increase the poverty level as high as possible; poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.
3) Debt – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes and this will produce more poverty.
4) Gun control – Remove people’s ability to defend themselves from the government. That way you are able to create a police state.
5) Welfare – Take control of every aspect of people’s lives (food, housing and income).
6) Education – Take control of what people read and listen to; take control of what children learn in school.
7) Religion – Remove the belief in God from the government and schools.
8) Class warfare – Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take from (tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

Ok, this guy make a good point. Fair points, fair dialogue, throwing out the broad brush and tossing out has “nothing to do with Islam”…and looking at it down the middle.
You could substitute the word Islam with LE or political diagolue. All I ever seek is honesty. I always give more weight to those who have been Been through the school of hard knocks.
. As an example, once Enrolled in a free county smoking cessation class (tobacco). The pretty cheerful instructor of the class walked in and did the little preamble bio of herself and why she was eager to teach the class.
Then someone asked her if she was a reformed smoker and how she was able to quit.. She answered she has never even lit a cig or smoked once in her entire young life. There was an audible groan from the class and much eye rolling. 3 folks stood up and walked out. I waited to the end of the hour to walk out and never came back.
I want honest dialogue, preferably from someone who has been there, done that.

Walt, world fest just does not appreciate your metal sculptures that you make purr from the catbird seat. They are the survivors of the old communes nestled in the redwoods from a time long ago. They are more into wood shop than metal shop. Wood is so natural and green and soft….and a heck of a lot easier to work with for the less enlightened,. Dummies don’t even know that metal is closer to the earth, but that is a minor point. Metal speaks to me, we have a deep understanding and appreciation of each other. And rocks…..metal and stone is at the heart of Zen. Walt, we be the one in tune with The Earth, while the empty melon zombies line up and stagger along, drawn by the lure of the siren’s call from World Fest…..er….California Fest.

PS: my ilk has been posting pics of Ryan with horns protruding out of his Satanic head for a least 6 months. Ryan is a good guy, but my boys hate his guts. Traitor!!, they call him..along with a boycott of Fox News….Fox got back to being fair and balanced after a massive underground campaign you obvisiously never heard of. You could see their numbers take a dive before they saw the light.

I got to thinking about the issues of race regarding the recent tragic police shootings, both the shootings of police and the shootings by police. The best data is from the Washington Post, which has a detailed site listing all of the people killed by police, which begins in 2015 and goes to the present. I thought I’d analyze their data. I looked at the data for the year 2015 because the full 2016 data is not in yet, and also in order to be able to compare it to other annual datasets.
Here are the results of that comparison for 2015.

For every 10,000 white people arrested for a violent crime, 38 white people were killed by police (± 2).
For every 10,000 hispanic people arrested for a violent crime, 21 hispanic people were killed by police (± 3).
For every 10,000 black people arrested for a violent crime, 21 black people were killed by police (± 2).

Surprised? You will not hear these facts in the Lame Stream Media.

Yo Dozer. We need your help. First they say the Louzianna cop murder was not a member of any mosque…just a mentality ill suffering soul who was a member of BLM. Next the ambulance chasers raced over to another place and said, no, he is not a member of BLM, he is a member of the the very Reverend Louie Louie Farranhkan’s Nation of Islam….you know, those silly boys who assisnated Malcolm X. The ambulance chasers almost ran over a couple girls playing hop scotch on the sidewalk to get back to their typewriters to say “No, he ain’t one of Louie Louie’s boys, he is a weight lifter on steroids. Aha, It’s the steroids fault!! But, wait..then they say…….
