When the country has a problem, it is prudent to consider government guilty until proven innocent.

This is a dated sampling of a few current happenings that give evidence our federal government is incompetent and/or corrupt, and in any case does NOT have the best interests of its citizens in mind.

Obama’s Mideast policy has been a disaster ever since he assumed office and promised to fix all the mistakes of his predecessor.  What he has done instead is to abandon the pro-American gains in the region and fomented the rise of ISIS – the most serious existential threat to western civilization from radical Islam.  Today his policies support an interminable extension of middling hostilities in Syria and Iraq along with the interests of Russia and Iran, which to most western observers appear somewhere between inane and insane, and in any case totally ineffective in promoting the security of the United States.

His actions there have long been decried by our military and security agencies that are limited in what they can publicly say to criticize their CinC.  Now we learn that things have gotten so bad that Dept of State diplomats have joined in a strong critique of Obama’s regional foreign policy that has no visible strategy as its basis.  Fifty-one of them have put their signatures on a letter that can only be seen as a censure of their President and his tight circle of westwing acolytes (led by that scion of policies foreign and domestic, Valerie Jarrett).  More here and here.

A new low in America’s seedy law industry has been achieved as prosecutors hire tort lawyers to find and bring suit against Americans who inevitably have run afoul of this or that regulation.  Finally a citizen in Texas is standing up to the sleazy attorneys who collude with corrupt prosecutors.  The 17jun16 WSJ reports that “A seedy side of American law is the widespread collusion between the plaintiffs’ bar and government prosecutors, who trade contingency-fee lawsuits for campaign contributions. … While government lawyers are required to serve the public interest when pursuing prosecutions, lawyers working on contingency-fee deals have an interest in winning the maximum possible settlement. … When government makes the trial bar a business partner, the incentive shifts to bringing suits that offer the biggest potential settlements or verdicts.  The goal becomes the private payday, not justice in the public interest.”

And sadly “this trial lawyer-government business model is widespread” across the land.  More here.

As it seeks to abrogate the Second Amendment and disarm law-abiding Americans, our federal government is busy arming itself through agencies that never needed guns let alone become militarized extensions of what Obama promised as his 'civilian national security force' that would become equivalent to our traditional armed forces.  In these pages we reported on this alarming trend (e.g. here and here) which is sold to our sitting members of Congress as nothing out of the routine.  My own correspondence with Representatives McClintock and LaMalfa has produced no traction at all – their inquiries were stonewalled.

Well, the number of agencies that have bulked up with armaments has now reached a level so that mainstream media (always late) are beginning to take an alarmed notice.  Former Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) and CEO openbooks.com Adam Andzrejewski give us a partial list of federal agencies that are now armed with various inventories of semi-auto handguns, real assault rifles (military surplus), sniper rifles, mine-resistant urban assault vehicles, and stores of munitions that include millions of rounds of anti-personnel ammo NOT used in training.  Consider a partial list of these now well-armed organs of the federal bureaucracy –

  • Internal Revenue Service
  • Dept of Veterans Affairs
  • Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service
  • Environmental Protection Agency
  • Food and Drug Administration
  • Small Business Administration
  • Social Security Administration
  • National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
  • Dept of Education
  • Bureau of Engraving and Printing
  • National Institute of Standards and Technology

The billions of dollars Obama has spent in bulking up his administration’s departments and agencies brings up the obvious question asked by the authors, “Who are they preparing to battle?”  When we consider the ever-present and currently crescendoing leftwing hysteria to disarm America, the answer is obvious – our government’s enemy is none other than the American citizen.  More here.

Kinda on topic. The silence from certain groups is defeafening. Same thing that happened to the NOW LA chapter during the pre-trail hoopla of the OJ Simpsom trail. Women where told to shut up about domestic violence to share a person of color…a male person of color. Their loss is our gain, I.e., Tammy Bruce.

I have a solution. Since many state run pension funds and municipalities are banned from investing in say, gun manufacturers or Big Oil, why don’t we disinvest in any business in any country that practices Sharia Law when it comes to homosexuals and religious minorities. It’s a start and a non violet way to show our disapproval. That’s not who we are. Sharia Law is does not represent our values as a nation
Still, the bigger problem of White Priviledge remains as the source of all the ills today, but at least it is a step in the right direction.
Only the government can make it sound like Islamic Law and Sharia Law are miles apart. Two peas in the same pod to me. Sure, it’s from last year, but White Privelge has not changed. We are to blame.

BillT 244pm – That is indeed the case with American Muslims. We erroneously think they are assimilating, while they are really colonizing. And ‘violence’ question should give every non-Muslim American pause. It is from this cohort (probably bigger than one out of four Muslims) that we draw our Omar Mateens. The approximate number of America’s Muslims is 800,000 who concur with violence against American infidels. It is this bald fact that Comey and Brenner worry about but don’t have the balls to state on the media.
BTW, RR has referenced this poll several times since last year, however we still need to be reminded of the situation in our homeland since our government is in its pro-Muslim stance wherein it see, hears, nor speaks of this evil. Thank you Mr Tozer.

American K-12 has done a bang up job keeping kids from assimilating by making us perhaps the only country in the world that subscribes to “transitional bilingual education”, which is code for teaching them in their “native” language until they get fluent and only then teaching them in English, as opposed to immersion in English ASAP after they walk in the door. So they graduate from high school with poor skills in their parent’s language and poor skills in English. The “melting pot” got hauled to the dump many years ago.
I think Sharia fans have every right to choose it for civil arbitration (it is a free country) but nothing more. By nothing more, I mean bloody ‘ell, nothing more.

re Gregory’s 457pm – That full immersion for immigrant children works in spades has been corroborated throughout my long life since I had uncounted opportunities to encounter other immigrant kids who shared my school experience on arrival (cf. ‘My Story’). All of us learned English to grade level in about six months, and the younger of us then spoke it with the local accent.
Most recently this was again confirmed by our friends, the couple with whom we recently toured central Europe. She is a native Hungarian who arrived here in 1958 as an early teen, and learned to speak ‘native Californian’ English as quickly as we all did. (Both of us remain fluent in our native tongues, which came in handy in Budapest and environs.)
Years of enforcing bilingual education on immigrant kids (and their parents) has been a political crime by the Left to maintain their dependable ‘bought and paid for’ voting blocks. The subsequent effects on such debilitated lives has been nothing short of evil since the social damage of delayed assimilation (if at all) has already been done when later they finally do learn English.

Concerning our disastrous “Islamic” Mideast problem, what can I say? As soon as we train and arm Syrian Rebels, Russian and Iranian jets wipe them out. Probably a good thing since the weapons we give to “rebels” go directly to arming ISIS….Islamic State is the first two words of the acronym ISIS….S stands for Syria. Not to mention the Syrian army wiping out our chosen side…..get the US weapons and take off those silly rebel uniforms, change sides ASAP, and presto!, we arm ISIS…again and again.
The secret no one but moi seems to follow is Libya. ISIL or ISIS had taken 125 miles of shoreline on the Mediterranean Sea and is in the process of making Libya it’s new HQ after/if they lose Syria and Northetn Iraq. Perfect. We are doing nothing as ISIS has taken control of the ports used for exporting oil, receiving goods and services, and the near perfect launching pad for infiltrating Europe through its soft underbelly via Italy. Nobody has their eye on the ball….er…nobody in the Obama Administration. Yep, we are serious about defeating ISIL in Syria, not so much in Hillary’s “what difference does it make” Libya.
I think we (the Obama Administration) are sitting on our thumbs watching ISIL mushroom in size and money and terroritory in Libya because it would look bad for Hillary’s War if we get involved before the election. It was Hillary’s brainchild to “save the people of Benghazi from genocide.” Well, maybe Muammar Quaddafi had a reason for driving the Islamic terrorists out of the area. What a mess.
O says we are hurting ISIL in Syrian and Northetn Iraq, which is true. What is also true is he has hamstrung and continues to hamstring any effort to protect our Homeland, our own country from Islamics who believe in jihad. Jihad? Opps, should have provided a trigger warning and a safe place before uttering those divisive words “jihad” or Islamic Islamic Islamic Islamic Islamic Islamic Islamic Islamic Terrorism. Get it. It’s called Islamic terrorism. Words like radical or extreme are simply redundant and not necessary. It’s called Islamic terrorism, or Islamic law or Sharia Law, or jihad, all with the word Islamic preceding the term you use. We are not the enemy. Guns are not the enemy. Islamics are the enemy.
No wonder there is a revolt in State and Security over Obama’s Mideast directed policies. Thank goodness Egypt executes members of the Muslim Brotherhood. Obama invites them to chat time and time again. Like he can’t get enough of that sweet stuff the Brotherhood whispers in his ear, face to face.

The blue county coastal progressive are fearful of the red county citizens, which is why they want to take away our guns. These spineless blues are adverse to conflict so they choose to disarm any potential threats from the action-oriented red county citizens, and it nags their very existence. This divide will expand over time as the progressives continue to exploit our children in public schools with progressive propaganda and more parents opt out for home-schooling or use charter schools were the parents can control the content of the propaganda.

Corruption is rampant. This mornings SacBee had a ridiculous screed by some woman claiming membership in the Union of Concerned Scientists. She is all for arresting those that disagree on global warming. I sent this to her email just now.
“I read your essay in the SacBee this morning and almost spit my coffee out. You are paid by whom? If the taxpayers pay your salary we are getting nothing for our money. You are simply a political partisan. And as I read the opinion, I wuld say you could be a fascist. A bill to curtail speech of those that disagree? This is not the USSR but your screed sure sounds like it. You have made science a partisan issue where it should not be. Why is that? Are your grants becoming harder to obtain since it appears your computer models are not very reliable? So what if a free enterprise business did not tell the truth. You bureaucrats do it all the time and yet no one pays for their fibs. And the “big oil” companies pay a lot in taxes as do the people selling the gasoline and politics. I would suggest you do your homework and get honest with the people. For goodness sakes you know what you are pedaling is hooey. And the people are not buying it. It is way low on the totem pole of concerns as I think they know it is a hoax. If you want to play politics you better do some more thinking as you are not too good at it. Our state is being trashed by your ilk and paying you to deceive as well.”

Darn Walt, you beat me to it. Good job. In the film business, they call that “artist license.” In the news business, they call that creative editing. In the Obama Administration, we call that business as usual.
Holy Bat Guano. This is not merely liberal “close enough for gobberment work” or revisionist history. This is revisionist present. But when the facts don’t fit the predetermined narrative, omit the facts. We don’t want to “revictimize” the friends and family of the Islamic Warrior who just committed the worse mass murder of unarmed millennials in modern history, now do we. Feds on alert to protect mosques from “revictimization”. Like Muslims are the real victims here?? Why, if Omar was just a lone nut case? Nothing to do with Islam, right? Get me out of this parallel universe. Too full of altered states. Beam me up, Scotty.
Thank your lucky stars that the CIA broke ranks and gave a frank clear concise in plain English evaluation about the real threat to US citizens residing in the homeland by Islamics. Islamic terrorism is bad juju. It’s growing, not decreasing. The real danger is not the same danger as our President and his cum breath Attorney General put out there. Not even close.
Wonder why the Defense Department, Intel, CIA, and even State are breaking ranks with Valerie and Barry. Hmm. Could it be that some have a moral compass, or maybe some want to warn us what has been happening for 7 years now. Maybe they actually love America. Nah, being patriotic will get ya fired. Now I am finally convinced that Hillary’s FBI’s troubles will disappear into thin air. It’s Cum Breath Loretta Lynch doing the bobble head thang in the Oval Office.
I feel so stupid thinking justice was blind….opppps, it’s blind alright. Blind to truth, justice, and the American way. “American way” is racist I bet. Should have provided a trigger warning as not to offend anybody…..even the next victims of Islamic Terrorism in our homeland.

These agencies understand that if we elect some representatives who actually succeed in trimming the fat budgets of those agencies, the agencies may have to do battle with other agencies for their share of a shrinking pork barrel. The key will be the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP). Future headlines might read, “EPA, IRS launch attack on BEP for control of printing presses – Treasury launches counter offensive”.

Gobberment corruption does not have to be on the Federal level. Yes, Brad is right. Gobberment (civilian) always see things as us vs them…..them being the ones they are hired to serve in theorical LaLa Land, not in reality. Makes sense that the Vets Affairs is arming themselves after whistleblowers have spilled the beans on their dastardly deeds and we have found out the big wigs can’t be fired…they ain’t working, just drawing checks. Cut those checks off and the bullets will be thick as bull flies.
The IRS needs weapons, especially after Congress started the process to impeach the current head honcho and strip him of his pension. That is enough to make them all barricade themselves armed to the teeth. Something about deliberating lying to Congress. At least Lerner took the 5th and slipped out the side door with her pension intact.
With that said, seems to me corruption had reared its ugly head in Idaho at the city hall level. The father was proud of his son. What a sweet boy.
